Exile (Star Wars: Legacy of the Force, Book 4) Review: If it's got Booster, it rocks - Allston's at his finest with Exile. We've got Ben Skywalker on a solo adventure that for me will be the defining quest that really brings him into his own. We've got the return of the truly great Star Wars characters like Lando, Wedge, and Booster - an absence this series has really suffered for. We've got the events of the book taking place on amazing locations like the Errant Venture and Ziost. And we've got the book's climax being a massive lightsaber fight between most of the lightsaber-weilding characters! What more could you ask? My only complaint in this book is that not a lot is accomplished, other than seeing Correlia's forces expanding and Ben doing some serious soul-searching; characters and events are basically in the same state at the end as they were at the beginning. Still, for the pure fun-factor, I really thoroughly enjoyed the act of reading this book - and that's why it's great to read in a galaxy far, far away. Review: Could have been great. - "Exile" didn't affect me like I think it should have. Ben being lost in the middle of nowhere choosing between good and evil held such possibilities. Wasted, it was. So many other sub-plots made the story lose its way. There are characters involved who don't need to be a part of this series, so far as I can see. Maybe it becomes important later. Alema, for one. She is a comic representation of evil. Still trying to kill Han for why? The Balance -- the whole reason behind her evilness. I think I somehow lost how this was all part of Sith lore, but I thought the Balance was something Gaeriel believed in, and it had nothing to do with the Dark side. Where did Alema ever learn it? Revenge is one thing, but Balance? There are plot points that make no sense. Jacen sneaks into a convention under disguise. No one recognizes him. Okay. Suddenly he speaks up, and the whole place knows who he is . . . still in disguise. Hmmm. "Exile" wasn't a complete loss. The story moves the series along. It could have been great. It was just okay. 3½ stars.

Excellent Read and follow up to Tempest
I just finished EXILE and it was GREAT... The interaction between the characters was the same as in the movies. The way it moved to the climax of the book, was at times slow and others to fast, but it was a good read over all. I still do not like the references to the Dark Nest Trilogy, I did not read it so I kept getting lost in translation, the same way I did in Tempest. The cliffhanger was awesome, eventhough I already knew who the sacrifice would be. If you read carefully and knowing who the sacrifice would be, the book gives you hints of the identity. Star Wars fan this is one of the GOOD ones, go for it.... but read Dark Nest Trilogy if you do not want to get lost

Terrific!
This whole series has been awesome! Well-written, attention-grabbing from start to finish. Such a great storyline and development of characters. I can’t wait to see what comes next!

breath of fresh air
I was begining to feel depressed about this series because of how dark the themes are, not that this book makes the story bright and happy but I was begining to find the series less fun to read. I picked this book up as a last chance for the series and read it cover to cover in a couple days. I loved it, it really brings the story back to the fun adventureous plot without losing the more sinister undertones that make it exciting.

Of Fallout, Struggle, And Potential Sacrifices
While, I wouldn't say this one really grabbed me, right at first, it did continue to build on the previous installmen(s), and we really get a sense of how far "between a rock and hard place", Leia and Han, have been put in following their actions in "Tempest". I rather like the idea of Ben being forced to choose sides, and it's been interesting so far, watching him struggle with right and wrong, his parents and Jacen. Can't wait to see how it all plays out, and who or what, speaking of Jacen, will his sacrifice be. On the whole it was a very good addition to the series, as the war is beginning to really shape up and to say nothing of the fallout regarding several characters actions, which has led up to this point, but I have the feeling this is only beginning. Now, on to the next one.

Exile (Star Wars: Legacy of the Force)
I really liked this book. I started the series with Tempest (this was my first star wars book) and I loved it. Since then I have read most of the New Jedi order books. I liked Ben's adventure in this book and I liked that Corran was in it. I can't wait for the next one to come out :).

Great book from the expanded universe. Follows in a great way with previous books and creates fantastic moments for following books from the series.

Great read and setting things up for the long story. I wished the last battle went on for a bit longer. But the whole book was written well. I got sucked in on Ben's story. Looking forward to what will happen next.

Exile is the fourth book of the epic Legacy of the Force series written by Aaron Allston, Karen Traviss and Troy Denning. This is Aaron Allstons second book in the series and it certainly kept the standard of quality right up there after the excellent third book Tempest. The fortunes of the Corellian system change dramatically as they go from being alone in their defiance of the Galactic Alliance to being the centre of a Confederation that is being sculpted by the Dark Lady Lumiya from the shadows. Exile follows a very wide range of characters and really benefits for it. It lets us catch up with some characters we have not seen since the end of the Yuuzhan Vong War such as Lando and Booster Terrik to name just two. The main elements of the plot almost all revolve around the Corellian crisis and Lumiyas involvement in it. Luke and Mara are searching for the Sith Lady while a large group of characters including Han, Leia, Wedge, Corran, Lando and more try to get to the bottom of things visiting such places as Corellia, Gyndine and the Errant Venture. However the most interesting part of the book in my opinion was the plot about Ben Skywalkers mission to retrieve an artifact for his unofficial master Jacen Solo. Which puts the young Skywalker through a dangerous test full of action and moral puzzles and a trip to the planet of Ziost. To go into anymore detail would spoil it and it really gives a good view into Bens head at a very uncertain time in his life. The future possibilities for Ben based on his adventure in this book are something I cant wait to see. Exile also sees Jag Fel play a much bigger role after his mysterious appearance in Tempest. This book had quite a lot to live up to after Tempest, which I found to be the best book of LotF so far. I was not disappointed; I loved every page of this book and can't wait to read it again. This is a must read book and a must read series. It has a plausible intelligent plot, well written and developed characters and really captures the spirit of adventure that got me into reading Star Wars books in the first place.

I personally like this book much more than Bloodlines and Tempest because this is written by Aaron Allston, which is also a reason why I like Betrayal. The book focuses much more on Ben and his “mission”, rather than Jacen. The cover, which doesn’t matter for many people, excluding myself, is great. You’ve got Leia holding the hilt of her activated lightsaber horizontally (the lightsaber is blue, which is the same colour in The Rise of Skywalker) and Han with his iconic attire and blaster. We get Alema Rar again, trying to assassinate Han and Mara to complete her Balance, and Lumiya plays games like Palpatine. Lando Calrissian makes an appearance for a larger part of the book along with Wedge Antilles, and his daughter Myri and wife Iella. If you have read the other Legacy of the Force books then I don’t need to tell you that you must read this book.
