3 Series Wrist Blood Pressure Monitor for Home Use

My wife is a home caregiver. She has one of these Omron Blood Pressure Monitors. It works quite well. I've never needed to keep one of these around until recently. After heart valve replacement, I have had headaches, and some unusual blood pressure events. I bought this, it seems almost identical to hers, but a newer model. I've used this for a couple of days now. It could not be easier to use- other than forgetting to program the year, and time into it prior to using it- it's been very user friendly. It seems accurate as well. I love it!

My last omron 2 wristcuff lasted 5 years and that is with me using it multiple times a day seeing im a nurse in long term care. The only reason I had to buy a new one was the velcro went out on it. I am hoping this one lasts just as long. It is much slimmer then the last one and velcro wrist piece looks alot more sturdy then the last. It came very well packaged and everything was there including batteries and comes in a hard case for storage. It is very picky on movement you have to be really still and has a hard time picking up low blood pressures. Overall its very well made and quick response time.

They are as efficient as other styles except for the type a doctor uses in a hospital setting . However, for home monitoring they are pretty good . I now have three . I used them because of the ease of use .

I've been keeping my B/P and heart rate daily for years. After 3 years I figured the unit I have needs a rest. After searching reviews for write units, the Orman 3 services showed very high. I ordered, received quickly which was good. Tried it for three days and all I got was error code 4. That code indicates that i was moving or talking was waiting for a reading. That is not valid. I know how to use B/P meters and no matter what I do, it's error 4. I'm very disgusted an in the process of returning the unit.

This cuff requires that the face of monitor be placed on the inside of the wrist, which is the opposite placement from that of my old BP cuff. Once I got this new placement into my head, and kept the cuff wrapped about 1" away from my wrist bone, then I found that it gives a consistent reading within my blood pressure range as was given by my old BP monitor, so it's fair to believe that it's also accurate. I like it.

At first, it read much higher than my Omron arm blood pressure monitor. I now attach it with it centered over the spot on my wrist where I feel my pulse and it reads just about the same as my arm BP monitor. I found that if I bend my arm to a vertical position, it works better than the instructions say to hold it, which is at a 30 degree angle from horizontal. My blood pressure was taken with a wrist BP monitor by a nurse who does this many times each day, and she told me to hold my arm in a vertical position.
