I would use #1 for when I'm seated properly rested 2 minutes & calm; #2 I would use when I'm not ready, feel sick or some other anomaly. That way I would have #1 tracking mormal BP, # 2 for odd situations. That said both read 10-15 points low when my BP is 105 to120, the higher my real BP the greater the gap. I have correlated these so many times at the docs office I can deduce my actual pressure, and I don't get random results, it's very predictable. The 2 machines are about 5 to 7 points different consistently. Not optimal but I've tried many machines and the newer ones just aren't as accurate as the old ones I've & this works for me! **Q: What does the double heart symbol mean on the face of the monitor?** A: Meaning of double heartbeat on the omron monitor **Q: Will the cuff beep when it is finished measuring?** A: No, but you can feel the release of pressure when it's finished and ready to read. **Q: I know someone else asked this, but can this be used without a smartphone??
