Last year I purchased an older (1995-97ish) Snapper 38" mower with a 14.5hp Briggs & Stratton engine that from day one always had engine surging issues. It made the mower almost unusable but I managed to limp it through the year. I'm not sure what was wrong with the old carb but I couldn't get it to tune in to run smoothly no matter what adjustments I made. Rather than rebuild and clean the old one I opted to purchase this one since it was only about $25, and that it also came with a new air filter and spark plug. Installation took about an hour total for everything. After letting the new carb fill up with gas, the engine started up smoothly on the first turnover and ran as smooth as silk, no surging at all. I did have to adjust the idle speed screw just a bit so it could throttle down according to how I set the engine speed, but that was it. I'm extremely happy with this purchase as it will allow me to actually use my mower as intended now without having to fiddle with the choke/throttle while in the middle of mowing. There are no instructions for what all the little extra pieces are for, but the small circled black plastic part seems to be an adjustment tool you put over the Idle mixture screw to be able to turn it with your fingers. Also in my application, I had to cut off the upward protruding piece of black plastic on the choke arm (circled in red on 2nd picture) as it was hitting the underside of the air intake manifold and wasn't allowing it to move freely. Once I removed it with a razorblade to be flush with the choke arm, the choke was able to fully engage and disengage. See closeup picture with it removed. Definitely will buy another one if I ever have carb issues again, but I doubt I will with this great one!

Bought this carburetor to replace the bad carburetor that was leaking fuel on my craftsman riding mower. Installation was a breeze and fit was perfect. Mower ran beautifully again with no leaking fuel. The air filter was a nice addition and fit perfectly as well. Very pleased with this product and would buy again.

As advertised, buying the whole set up was nice everything was in good condition and was really inexpensive to keep the old riding lawnmower working. I did take 1 star off because I had to adjust a little for my engine which is not a big deal have work small engines before. The functional it was fine and it was a perfect fit.

This carb worked correctly after install on my engine. No leaks! Idle speed was adjustable and functional. Adjustment was easy and works as advertised, as it should. 14.5 B&S 287707 good job! The extras(air filter, fuel filter, tubing, clamps etc. were very useful. For the price point you simply can’t beat it. I did not install the spark plug due to having a new one in already, it’s a spare.

Craftsman LT1000 lawn tractor with a Briggs & Stratton 310707 engine. Engine would backfire when shut off, and then just started running worse and worse (surging, low power). Took carb apart and cleaned but that did not fix the issues. This carb kit fixed all of the problems! For less than $30 ,as of this writing, you get a new carb, fuel line, fuel filter, clamps, spark plug, air filter & pre filter. Everything was an exact match- no modifications or struggling, everything bolted right on. Can't say enough good things about it. I don't know how anyone is making money from this, but I'm glad it's available. Don't bother trying to clean your old carb, just replace everything. Made a really old tractor like new again.

It was the carburetor specifically that I was after, and it works like a charm. It's nice to have all of the other pieces in here for a tune-up. The spark plug, fuel filter, air filter and gas hose will come in handy in the future.
