Moto Guzzi 750, 850, and 1000 V-Twins, 1974-78 (Owners' Workshop Manual) (Haynes Repair Manuals)

Never been a huge fan of Haynes manuals, but neither am I one of their detractors. I have a Haynes service manual on most every vehicle I own. Even though the coverage of many topics is never as comprehensive as I would like. They way I look at it is this: All correct data is good data. If I can open the Haynes manual and derive some little tidbit or other, then cross-reference what Haynes says with two or three other sources, I'll get resolution on whatever issue it is I'm trying to address. So, in the end, having a Haynes manual on hand is almost always helpful.

My Guzzi is a 1984 California II which is, technically, not covered in this manual. But most everything I need to know on a basic level is pretty much included.

Like all Haynes manuals, this one is full of practical info & not just a rehash of a factory manual. All the stuff you need to know, lots of good pictures & no references to 'Special Tool ABC123' This is made for an average person working in their home garage.Specifically in regards to the Guzzi, I paid $40 for a badly photocopied version of the factory manual & it was practically useless.The only thing keeping me from giving this 5 stars is the existence of "Guzziology" However, this one will get you through the basics & I wouldn't mind getting a few grease smudges on it.

Just doesn't cover quite enough to be a workshop manual, too many statements like " beyond the scope of this book" and most are simple charging circuits, and diode checks.

Still this is useful as a basic manual for basic service and basic knowledge on the older Guzzis. I am preparing for spring and summer tours.

This was a present for my dad, who is in the process of fixing up a Moto Guzzi. Apparently it never leaves his hands and is a great tool.
