Wow. Great mouthpiece.
Great cornet mouthpiece. No joke. Pro here, and I'm impressed.

Great value
Works just as good as much more expensive mouth pieces

Very good option. Great value
My son's Yamaha cornet came with a tight-ish mouthpiece. Not bad, but definitely trumpet like in tone. While it posed no issue for me (I play Trumpet), he was getting pitchy on the low end which I know should be easier on cornet. This seemed like a good option and so glad I tried it. I haven't played on the genuine DW to compare, but the cup is more conical, overall length is shorter, and the flow is much freer than the Yamaha MP. But the real hook is the tone. So rich, and voluminous started off testing on a scale and couldn't help but change over to a jazz riff (just sounded so right). I am considering picking up another cornet for myself to pair with one of these MP.

A well-made copy of a more expensive mouthpiece
This is a replica of one of the Dennis Wick series of mouthpieces that cost four to five times more. It has DW4 engraved in small letters on the rim. I switched from trumpet to cornet just 3 months ago, at age 72. I am too new to the world of cornet mouthpieces to tell you how this might compare to the genuine article. I can tell you that it is a good-feeling, deep-throat mouthpiece. I use it for my exercises in the low to middle range. It is harder to play on high notes than the one that came with my Thomann CR400 cornet. But that is to be expected, as the deeper throats are just harder to use at higher range. I have progressed in the Claude Gordon book to where I can get up to staff E and sometimes F reliably with this mouthpiece, whereas the shallower one that came with the cornet takes me reliably to G or A, and with squeaks up to high C and above.Keep in mind that with modern 3D design programs and computer-controlled machine tools, it is possible to copy almost any pattern with good precision. I suspect some Chinese manufacturer is ignoring Dennis Wick's patent rights and turning out good copies of his mouthpieces very cheaply. The plated finish is fine, and the brass underneath is probably just as good as the high-priced. If you've got the money, buy them from Dennis Wick. If you don't, you might like this one.

Greatly improves my intonation!
I am a rank beginner; tried to use this mouthpiece 6 weeks ago but switched after finding that a 7C helped me hit middle E more consistently. Nowadays however, I'm finding that the DW 4 lets me sustain notes without "cracking", gives me more endurance, and definitely lends a warmer tone to my second-hand Olds Ambassador. Really glad to have it!

Nicely made!!
I like this mouthpiece. It’s my favorite to buzz on. Unfortunately the shank is a little bit too narrow for my cheap student grade (no name) cornet. Look forward to when I upgrade to a brand name.
