The only vacuum cleaner brand Iโll use!
This is my second Shark vacuum cleaner and like the previous model I own it doesnโt disappoint. The Shark NZ801UKT ships with just enough accessories to enable you to tackle most jobs. A crevice tool has a brush attachment that slides up, and you get an upholstery brush, too. Both clip onto the body of the vacuum cleaner for easy storage. Thereโs storage onboard for the various accessories, you also get a Pet Power Brush, which is useful for smaller areas. Itโs designed for picking up hair, although it works just as well on the stairs. Itโs powered by airflow alone and is super-loud: I measured it at 91.9dB. It works wonders forcleaning stairs. The mini-brush is handy, but itโs loud! Personally I can put up with the noise though in order to get a thorough clean. Thatโs it in the box, and you miss out on the special editionโs car kit and under-furniture brush โ although both can be bought separately if you want them. In both regular and Lift-Away modes, the 0.83l bin lifts out of the front. This exposes the washable filter, which should be cleaned regularly to keep the vacuum cleaner operating at its best. With the bin in hand, you can open the flap at the bottom to empty the dust. You can also open the top flap to clean out any stubborn dirt, although I found that I needed to give the cleaner a bit of a tap to get everything out. Emptying the โbinโ I find fairly easy to empty, although a sharp tap may be in order to get everything out Sucks up absolutely everything with ease. Exceptional performance on all surfaces Anti hair wrap tech stops the roller from getting clogged. It moves easily between hard floors and carpets The Shark NZ801UKT is powered by a 750W motor, which puts this cleaner at the top of the suction table. In fact, there are times when the cleaner feels as though the vacuum is stuck to the floor in use: that airflow vent certainly comes in handy for some jobs. To test performance, I put the vacuum cleaner through my usual set of tests, starting with the carpet test. Here, I spread a teaspoon of flour on the carpet right up to the edge of the skirting board. Giving the vacuum cleaner a single pass through on carpet mode, the Shark NZ801UKT picked up the majority of the mess, leaving just a trace amount right up against the skirting; nothing that a quick blast through with the crevice tool didnโt fix. Moving to the hard floor, I initially sprinkled a teaspoon of rice onto the floor. Giving the Shark NZ801UKT a single pass through the mess, every bit of rice was removed following a single sweep, with the vacuum set to the hard floor mode. This shows the power of the DuoClean head and how it copes with various floor surfaces. All in all for the very reasonable price point I am super impressed. It copes well with dirt, pet hair, crumbs, etc with ease and leaves hard flooring merely needing a mop over to ensure a thorough clean.

Suck it up - buy one !!
So weโve had a number of major manufacturers vacuums over the last years all falling short of the hype with significantly higher prices. Our last vacuum anti tangle cat n dog was the biggest heap of expensive hard to manoeuvre junk that while sticking to the carpet and making me feel like Iโd done 10 rounds with Mike Tyson vacuuming it clearly sucked up not a lot. This vacuum is brilliant, powerful, detachable in many ways, bagless and while quite heavy easily manoeuvrable. Embarrassingly so for our previous top end cat n dog vacuum we only cleaned our lounge 4 days ago. Had enough of it and bought this beauty. Having not been in the lounge since vacuuming the amount of dust / grit this thing sucked up the other had left behind was nothing short of a disgrace. Ok uprights are not for everyone but if unsure all I can say is this is possibly the best vacuum weโve ever owned at half the price of other allegedly top end vacs - this seriously cleans up not only from the carpet but also IMO the competition.

Brilliant 100% recommend if you have animals !!
I have had this vacuum cleaner for just over a month and use it all the time because I once had a nice clean house and then for some reason I got a white cocker jack puppy and I live in the middle of the countryside. Mud. Mud. Hair hair hair. I was using my Henry and thought it was perfectly good for cleaning and then I got a dog. So I purchased this and itโs amazing I kid you not I never thought I would love a vacuum cleaner. Key points I love - it has a lift away and wand release which is great for getting dog hairs off my sofa as you can see in the photo below! I like the ability to change the suction and the floor type between carpet and hard floor. The bin is easily emptied. One of the only issues is when you remove it for the lift away you have to hold it or it will fall over I also think that itโs quite heavy and that people with less strength might struggle when itโs at full size but Iโm not used to a plugged upright vacuum cleaner so maybe that is how heavy they are? I like the wand release that makes it have a longer cylinder like the photo or a shorter one, the attachments are useful and the suction is good! Very happy and would recommend even though itโs a bit spenny but I didnโt get mine in the sale or anything.

Not bad
Going to give four stars mainly because the clip that holds the hose to the handle isnโt in the box. Iโve checked it twice. So this picks up well. I used my old shark yesterday. And when I got this today I did it all again. It got up loads of dirt. I would say itโs fairly heavy, but I do have thick carpets and I used it on high power. I guess it will take some getting used to. My old shark was just a stick with the container on top. I think this is a bit fiddly, but Iโll keep it and see how it goes. Iโve done my whole house and Iโm sweating and my hand is sore, I donโt like the rubber grip on the handle. Iโm 60 and I found it hard work, not great to manoeuvre. Maybe it will be better with less suction. I personally think for an older person it may be to heavy. Cord length is ok but not as long as my old shark. But overall itโs good. Would I buy it again, no. To bulky for me. To update my Hoover never came with a clip to fix the hose to the body. Shark sent out a new handle and hose as they said the clip is fixed to the hose. Handle and hose arrived with attached clip. But there is no where on this model for the clip to attach to. Model number NZ801.. it shows a clip on the box attaching to the Hooverโฆ there is no where for it to attach to. Bizarre

An absolute winner.
I've had my Shark for a month now. I held off reviewing it because at first I found it so different from the type of cleaner I was used to (being old and unadventurous) I found it quite intimidating, especially the way it comes to pieces. I've got used to it now and I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT! The list of admirable features goes on and on, how light it is, how quiet it is, how versatile it is, how clever it is and how easy to empty it is. Even unexpected things like how it not only vacuums the hard floors but gives them a little polish at the same time, lovely. I've been amazed that although it's small and light the quantity of dirt and dust it picks up is remarkable, my living room carpet is looking (and feeling) better than it has for years. There are only two very minor things I would change - I found it difficult, without my reading glasses which I don't wear for vacuuming, to tell the difference between the on/off switch and the release button for the lift away motor, I was constantly "lifting away" when I didn't mean to but I've cured this with a dab of red nail varnish on the power switch. I do wish, however that the manufacturer had used a more flexible power cable, it would be so much easier to keep it out of the way if it would only coil up more sensibly, but that's my only quibble. Thanks you Shark people for designing an absolute winner. Highly recommend (and relatively inexpensive too).

Love it!
Ok iโve left some time to give this review to give a proper review. Iโve had this shark since Jan now. I had prior to this a dyson animal cordless and my god you notice the difference in power. I wanted an upright corded as got fed up of blockages and Iโm so glad I did as now get none! The suction is so much better and you can see the difference on my carpets. I actually didnโt realise how bad my dyson had got until I got this! Itโs easy to use. Flick a switch to go between hard and carpeted floors. Another switch for max or less suction (less is good for mats, carpet treads as max is too much for them). Push a button to lift off the waste bit and another for the hose so you have your โliftawayโ this is great for stairs and doing ceilings as have added parts you can attach. Will say the loft away doesnโt stand up well so on the stairs I have to try and balance it as I clean them which has resulted in the machine falling down the stairs! To get rid of the waste you just squeeze 2 buttons to detach and then click back to release the waste. Waste chamber is small but I can do whole house a few times without issues as only have a standard size house. First time I hoovered this chamber was FULL just from the downstairs, but now that Iโve used this hoover more I donโt get as much, so just shows how much my last hoover was missing even with daily hoovering! Donโt need to charge as you plug in, which can be a pain but I just need to get use to a cord again. The cord is reasonable. I can do all the downstairs on one plug and the upstairs on another, but if you had a large house you would need to swap plugs. If the cord was longer though I feel it would be annoying as trip over it as it is. Would be good for it to be on a system where the cord is stored inside the hoover (like a Henry) and extends as you use it, then goes back in when not extended (note to Shark design team!). Otherwise very happy. Havenโt noticed a drop in power as others have said, but still early days. Would 100% recommend :)

The Ultimate Pet Hair Warrior!
I recently purchased the Shark Corded Upright Vacuum Cleaner, specifically the Pet Model with Anti Hair Wrap Technology (NZ801UKT), and I have to say, this vacuum exceeded all my expectations! If you have pets or struggle with maintaining a clean home due to pet hair, this vacuum is a game-changer. Key Features I Loved: Anti Hair Wrap Technology: This is hands-down the best feature for pet owners. The brush roll is designed to prevent hair from tangling around it. I used to spend so much time cleaning pet hair out of my previous vacuum, but with this Shark model, the hair just doesnโt wrap around the brush. Itโs such a relief! DuoClean Technology: The dual brush heads are fantastic. One is soft for hard floors, and the other is more robust for carpets. It switches seamlessly between surfaces without losing suction, making it incredibly versatile. Powered Lift-Away: This feature allows you to detach the main unit, turning it into a more portable, handheld vacuum. It's perfect for cleaning stairs, furniture, and hard-to-reach spots like under the couch or bed. Strong Suction Power: With 750W of power, this vacuum has no problem picking up everything from pet hair to dust and crumbs. It works particularly well on carpets, giving them a deep clean. Anti-Allergen Complete Seal: I have allergies, so this feature is a huge bonus for me. It traps 99.9% of dust and allergens inside the vacuum, making the air in my home feel noticeably cleaner after vacuuming. LED Headlights: I didnโt think Iโd care about this, but the headlights on the vacuum head are so helpful! They illuminate any dirt, dust, or pet hair you may have missed, especially in dimly lit areas like under furniture. Long Cord (8m): The 8-meter cord is long enough to reach across several rooms without needing to unplug and replug constantly. It saves so much time during cleaning sessions. Pet-Specific Attachments: It comes with two attachments, including one designed specifically for picking up pet hair. The tools are easy to use and work great on upholstery. What Could Be Improved: Dustbin Capacity (0.83L): While the 0.83L dustbin is fine for everyday cleaning, it can fill up quickly, especially if you have a lot of pet hair or larger spaces. I do find myself emptying it more frequently than Iโd like. Weight: Itโs not the lightest vacuum on the market, and while itโs manageable, it may be a little heavy for some users, particularly when using it in handheld mode for longer periods. Final Thoughts: Overall, the Shark Corded Upright Vacuum Cleaner (NZ801UKT) is a fantastic investment, especially for pet owners or those with allergies. The Anti Hair Wrap and DuoClean technologies make it incredibly efficient on various surfaces, while the lift-away feature adds versatility. A couple of minor inconveniences aside, this vacuum is powerful, effective, and makes cleaning so much easier. Highly recommend!

Best vacuum I've used
I am absolutely enamored with this vacuum cleaner. I didn't know that a household appliance could make a person so happy lol. My previous vacuum cleaner was a Henry and I absolutely hated it. It was annoying to move around, the hose was too short which meant I was always bent over, the cord tangled- it was generally just the most annoying appliance I have ever used. I saw this vacuum cleaner on a deal and thought I would give it a go, the reviews were good and it looked slick and like it would tick all the boxes for me. It works so well and it is so so nice to use after using a Henry for several years. It pulled so much dust out of my carpets it was disgusting. Since purchasing this vacuum I have noticed the overall level of dust in my home has reduced significantly. When we used to clean the house within a few hours you could see dust settling on glass surfaces etc that is no longer the case and I've only vacuumed my full home about five times since purchase. I thought the anti-hair wrap technology was a gimmick but actually it works really well. I have nearly waist length hair that gets everywhere and I was forever having to take scissors to my Henry to cut the hair out of it. When I check the head for this vacuum cleaner there is nothing wrapped around either of the brushes, which is fantastic. It is slightly heavier but it is easy to manoeuvre, it doesn't feel heavy unless you actually lift it up. The lift away and all the different ways you can use the vacuum cleaner make cleaning your home a slick and easy job. I love that I can vacuum the floors and then pull out the handlr to do the baseboards and easily lift off the canister to clean other places all with the click of a button. I really can't say enough good things about this vacuum cleaner and I would wholeheartedly recommend it. Saying that I wouldn't pay ยฃ300 for it, it might be worthwhile but that just seems like a lot of money for a vacuum to me. I purchased this for around ยฃ179 and it feels like an excellent value for money at that price.

Super suction easy to use in all places. So reliable.
easy to use in all places. So reliable. Great suction. Light enough to use up and down stairs furniture and curtains perfect all round.

The clip that hold it upright is plastic and weak, it broke in the first month
Product is good, vacuums well and is easy to move. Needs a wider mouth and longer power lead.

Customer Service a disaster
We bought this model on amazon.com.au from the UK Shark seller. Worked great (we have fluffy dogs) until head unit stopped rolling and lights no longer worked after about 10 months. Rang Australia distributor, they confirmed the fault but couldnt replace as it was UK model. Rang UK, and they stated that because I was in Australia, all warranties are automatically voided, which "apparently" is clearly stated on their website (however the customer service couldnt point me to any clause evenly closely resembling that). The warranty was a selling point as still is clearly advertised on amazon with a 12 month > 5 year warranty.
