Great pan, no stick, no mess, easy clean,
We have been making egg inlets every morning since we got it. No sticking, no residue, easy to clean with soap and water. The pan is light weight and we have found a lower temperature when using works great also with a little oil of what ever choice you have. Very pleased with the OXO pan. Get one! You will not be disappointed.

Easy cleaning and safe
Nice pan, good size for 3 egg omelets or two fried eggs, cleans easily, food slides off easily We've been trying to get rid of our old cooking pans that have the flaking chemicals coating. This seems like a good alternative, and feels safer to me to use.

Great pan, good price.
I really like this pan. I currently own the 8, 10 and 12" OXO frying pan and am happy with them all. This is my second 10" pan. The first lasted about a year before losing its non-stick. That actually sounds bad, but the pan was used all the time. My son eats 5 small meals a day and this pan might be used 2 or 3 times a day. He has a tendency to cook with higher heat than needed and he uses cooking spray like its going out of style. When I received this new pan, I noticed it had a sticker declaring not to use cooking spray and not to use high heat. I do not remember the first one having that sticker, but figured that was what killed the pan. Anyway, the non-stick on this is great. I have been cooking for 40+ years and have used many different brands of frying pans, from cheap Walmart brand to Calphalon and the Oxo is definitely my favorite. In terms of cost, they are in the middle of the pack, but they perform better than the much more expensive Calphalon pans that I have owned. Build quality is top notch. The pans are light, even the 12" pan, which is a huge bonus for my wife. I would most likely use Cast Iron for all my frying pan needs if they weren't so heavy. My wife won't touch them. My son recently bought a ridiculously overprice Made In stainless steel pan. It cost 2.5 times more than the Oxo and he still uses my Oxo more than his Made In. Generally, I can use a paper towel to clean these pans of debris. the Made In, no chance. That thing is a pain in the butt to clean. Don't believe the hype with pans like Made In or Hexclad. I have used Oxo brand utensils for years and have been happy with them. I didn't know the pans existed because none of my local stores sell them. I found out about them from America's Test Kitchen. They were their best pick. Project Farm also did a review of frying pans and rated the Oxo a very close second to the winner. Where has Hexclad? Below the Oxo, but more than 3 times the price. I don't think I'll buy anything but Oxo frying pans from now on.

Not too shabby
After using this pan for about six months, I can give my opinion. The durability seems to be as advertised, a very tough surface indeed. Holds heat fairly well for an inexpensive pan. My only criticism would be the lack of its non-stick capabilities. I't not all that bad and allows for easy clean up, but it's only a kinda non-stick pan. I can live with it, though. I think there's a compromise: you can get durability or non-stick, but not both, with our current technologies. As far as the surface being safe, who knows? I hope for the best.

Top Choice for a Nonstick Pan
This review is for OXO Good Grips Pro 12" Frying Pan Skillet, 3-Layered German Engineered Nonstick Coating, Dishwasher Safe, Oven Safe, Stainless Steel Handle, Black. I purchased this for a house member who really likes nonstick cookware. I ordered this one, because Cook's Illustrated America's Test Kitchen rated it the best. It's a very nice pan, and we have used it many times so far. The nonstick surface is holding up very well, and it is definitely nonstick. We have cooked eggs, meat, chicken, fish, and other items in it. Nothing stuck to the pan. We only hand wash it, and we only use non-metal utensils with it. The weight of the pan is good, and the handle is comfortable and ergonomic. All-in-all this is a great pan if you are looking for something nonstick. A side note about nonstick pans: I am generally not a fan of nonstick pans. I don't like cooking with something that is a part of planned obsolescence. All nonstick cookware slowly starts to wear down with use. It is just the nature of it. So, eventually all nonstick cookware has to be replaced, as eventually it will lose its nonstick properties. This brings me to the other part that I don't like. Nonstick cookware uses chemical products to make it nonstick, and those chemicals wind up in your food. Reports claim the chemicals are safe, but you have to judge your level of confidence in the reports. I don't see a benefit to having added chemicals in my food. Also, you can't use metal utensils with nonstick pans, as the metal will damage the nonstick coating. This generally means one set of non-metal cooking utensils and a separate set of metal utensils to use with your standard cookware. So, I have two sets of cooking utensils. Also, different nonstick cookware will have different maximum temperature ratings. This pan is rated up to 430 F degrees. If you go above that you breakdown the chemical nonstick coating, which not only ruins the nonstick coating, but it also puts those chemicals into your food. I once had a different brand of nonstick pan many years ago that I cooked an omelette in. The nonstick coating had broken down and left all sorts of black flakes on my omelette, so both the omelette and pan went into the garbage. Personally, I prefer to go with a high-quality, multi-clad, stainless steel set of pots & pans that I can use any utensils on that I like and will last me forever. However, if you are going to purchase a nonstick pan this one is an excellent choice because it is a good pan and at a good price point for replacement.

Better than expectedโฆ!!!
Wow, even better than I hoped it would be. I believe the negative reviews, posted here, were from competitor companies. A nice feature that many skillets do not have, is a thicker bottom, which spreads out the heat and avoids warping. This skillet has a really thick plate on the bottom. This skillet is perfect for hash browns, which in the past we have had issues with easily burning. I sold high-end waterless cookware for several years and this skillet ranks right up there with that cookware, in terms of construction and quality. I was not compensated for this review.

Iโm luvโn it !
It actually works as a non-stick and heat distribution is great! Iโm comparing it to my other favorite pan which unfortunately has a hot spot in the middle. Now pay careful attention to the care instructions! This pan does seem to have some type of coating on it so you can just use abrasive scrubs and metal utensils on it , that is probably why other reviewers are leave bad reviews saying the coating is damaged or the pan sticks . Iโm definitely purchasing the 12โ next time .

Great pan, however...
Bought this pan almost 2 years ago. Performed like a champ up until about 3 or 4 months ago, when its non-stick surface began breaking down. Now its half usable (surface area wise). Although, in reality its unusable, and should not be used, nor any pan, once the non-stick surface has been compromised for health reasons, I've read. I've decided to purchase another as the length of time before failure (as compared to other reviews) was not bad and all during its time, it performed great. It was also a breeze to clean, requiring very little effort. Things to take note and pay attention to are the other reviews that say how to use the pan, which I will state as well as they are, I feel, were key to its duration and performance. *Side note, I have an LG electric glass-top stove. DO NOT use high heat - I actually cut my heat level down by half or more in everything we cooked in the pan. I feel I should have been doing prior to this pan as its probably what warped my others over time that weren't as solid as this one. Out of the 10 levels, with increments our stove went to, the highest we went on our stove was 3.0. MAYBE 3.6 or 3.8 but rarely. I thought this was going to be too low and although took a little longer, not much, to get going, it was perfectly fine and had all the heat it needed. Most of the time we had it around 2.4-2.8. If I have had translate to a dial stove, then med to medium low(?). It does a good job of heating hence why, once it gets going, its good to go. You don't need the extra heat. It'll cook or boil. Again that's for our stove, so take it how you will. For trial and error, start on the low go up from there, but again, not too high. DO NOT use metal or even a hard plastic utensils. The surface does seem to scratch pretty easily. I feel we may have accidentally broken this rule a few times before catching ourselves, which probably contributed to shortening its life. This is why I'm giving this pan another go. Definitely keep to wood or silicon spatulas, etc. DO NOT use brillo or other harsh scrubbing pads. If the pan is still performing well and needs that extra "elbow" grease try this tip first - Put some water in the pan, bring to a boil or just under (again, with a heat setting comparable to heat for cooking. NEVER high.) and then use your surface safe spatula or scraper to gently remove the food. This method will pop or break that stubborn seal the food has on the pan. This works 9 times out of 10 for any pan, I've found. Hope this helps. I'll update my review depending on how the 2nd pan performs and trying to be extra diligent this time. **UPDATE** Lifespan of this pan is just over 2 years. I bought a 2nd pan after the first failed, hoping it would last longer, but no, this seems to be the lifespan of the coating. If you want a 2 year pan, this one is fantastic. Not sure if I'm gonna purchase another go or look elsewhere. If you do get this pan...GET THE WARRANTEE. I did not.

Doesn't Last Long
I bought this Nov 2021 and I really loved it then , by Jan 2023 it lost the nonstick coating with careful but everyday use. Everything sticks to it now

superb quality
You could just tell from the moment you pick it up, it's a quality item. Well worth the extra cost over a cheaper option. Should last a lifetime. Let you all know if it does, just before i pop my clogs.

Great pan.
My new favourite pan. Spent $600 (45% off) on rival set of 3 pans and they are nowhere as good as this pan. Buying more. I highly recommend. Stick to medium/low heat. Seared steaks perfectly
