I've been doing a lot of long multi-cam interview shoots and although the A7III and RIII batteries are great, I can rarely get more than 2 hours of constant run time when shooting in 4k. The solution, up until now, has been to gaff tape a power bank to my tripod, which just doesn't look very professional. Enter the Smallrig power bank holder! I've screwed it to the side of my cage and clamped my power bank in place. Need to get a shorter USB cable, but it works great! The power bank I currently have is only 5V, but if I can find a bigger one with multiple outputs I could probably power a monitor as well. Definitely a lot cheaper than a V-mount battery! I imagine you could also rig this up to a small battery powered light like the Aputure Amaran or Boling P1. As with all Smallrig gear, this piece is simple, yet well designed and manufactured.

This product is precision made to handle some awesome back up power. When I first looked at it before buying I was skeptical because its spring powered instead of screw lock. But holy moly was I completely blown away. First off, this unit is all metal, pretty sure it's t6 aluminum but I'm no expert. This unit is SOLID, the springs are internal and SUPER strong, I was actually surprised how strong they were. The power coat is thick and smooth and all around, this product is very high quality and I couldn't be any happier. Small rig definitely has 2 customers for life and I thank you guys for delivering professional equipment at affordable prices.

I have been using this since I bought it in 2020. I do a lot of shoots in different situations and this works fine at holding the power bank. It has never failed in all these years and when I use it, which is all the time, I never worry that I might have a mishap. I will be heading to Carnival Road March tomorrow, April 7, 2024, and I know a lot of people will bump into me but I have confidence in this holder.

Overall this is a great product. Well built, as are all Smallrig products. Unfortunately I don't think this is a 5 star rating because I feel like the spring and overall tension to open the thing is just too strong. And I don't think there's a way to change it. You do use a bit of strength to open it, and it's so strong that it will NOT snap back into place. It actually SLOWLY glides back into place. Not sure if this is designed this way or I happen to have a lemon. So, fine, most people here are giving it 5 stars, but be aware that you're gonna need to PULL on this thing -- while on another similar product from a diff company (which is also 10 dollars cheaper!!) I have no issues and it snaps back into place after a light pull. So Smallrig, if you're reading this... add some form of tension adjustment to the thing, and then you'll have a 5 star product :)

It's always a hassle adding things to DSLR rigs while still keeping it light. I have removeable wooden handles on each side and popped this onto the top of one giving the battery bar a secure spot that I don't have to keep on forever. Bar is well made,, strong spring loaded grip and hardware is fine. Good product.

Underrated product! Hold really tight and firm!

When searching for a product like this -- you're typically provided results of cell phone holders that can potentially hold a power bank. However, I've personally have always been left wanting something more durable, something with a tighter grip, and one with actual 1/4 20 mounting locations on it. SmallRig has now finally filled this void. I can use it attached to my camera cage as another/bigger source of external power or I can mount it on a SmallRig multi-purpose clamp to power my Aputure AL-MW (or other USB charged light). Additionally, this thing is made to take a beating. It has an all metal construction with two mounting screws on the inside of the clamp (you can use one if you want). All in all, this little accessory is worth it. To be quite frank -- the value here vs other cheaper (and cheaply made) alternatives is that this is truly a versatile product you can rely on in your camera/lighting kit for many years to come. I'll definitely be buying a few of these!

A little overpriced but this one is a good accessory for your powerbanks. This has a spring system so you need to manually pull it hard to fit in your power bank. Very sturdy and looks classy with Smallrig branding.

I ordered this for my Panasonic S5 Cage set-up. I thought that it might expand out a bit more than it did and it had a hard time gripping my larger power bank. I decide to return it and look for something with a bit more flexibility. However if you have a smaller power bank, this is a great product as the build quality is excellent.
