Béaba Babycook Neo Baby Food Maker, 42 Oz, Steam & Blend, Midnight

I’ve been making homemade baby food for a few weeks now, and the BEABA Babycook Neo has made the process so much easier. I love that the bowl is glass instead of plastic, and the stainless steel steam basket gives it a much more premium, healthy feel. The eucalyptus color is also beautiful and looks great on the counter.It’s super simple to use — I can steam fruits, veggies, and even proteins, then blend everything to the perfect texture all in one machine. Cleanup is surprisingly easy too, especially compared to other baby food makers I looked at. The large capacity is great because I can make multiple servings at once and freeze extras for later.I also appreciate that it doesn’t take up a ton of space and works quickly during busy days with a baby. Definitely feels like one of those baby products that’s actually worth the investment if you plan on making your own baby food regularly.

I’m really glad I bought the BEABA Babycook Neo. It makes making baby food so much easier. I love that the bowl is glass and the basket is stainless steel, so I don’t have to worry about plastic while cooking.It steams and blends in the same machine, which saves me a ton of time. I can make a batch of food in about 20 minutes and have enough to last for several meals. The blending is super smooth, but you can also leave it a little chunky as your baby gets older.The eucalyptus color looks really nice on my counter—it doesn’t look like a big clunky baby gadget. Cleanup is pretty easy too since the parts come apart quickly.To be completely honest I'm a little worried seeing some other reviews with rusted blades and broken parts but I've not had any issues so far and will definitely update as I use it longer if I have any issues.It’s not the cheapest option, but honestly, the quality makes it worth it. If you want something safe, easy to use, and that actually lasts, I’d definitely recommend this one.

I wanted to like it but I HATE it! It was suppose to be a great baby cook made out of sturdy materials , easy to use and clean. But my hopes was destroyed one by one.First issue I encountered was a corrosion of steaming basket after about a month of light use. Contacted customer service, they mailed replacement in a few weeks.Then chopping blade that was supposed to be stainless steel and rust proof got bunch of rust . I took care of this machine greatly , all hand wash, no dishwasher , air dried . Contacted customer support and they accused me of cooking something inappropriate there! HELLO, I just cook veggies and some meat there for a baby! They said they will mail the replacement blade but it took them 2 full month to mail it ! How am I suppose to cook food for my baby in a rusty machine?? Customer service is bad and don’t follow up.From the design point of view this item has many flaws. To name a few:Anytime you blend food small pieces of food are being trapped in the glass bowl handle where it becomes moldy and spoiled. Yummy!! Again contacted support to show me how to clean it and it’s literally such a pain to take it apart to clean the handle and even dangerous because you have to use a knife to separate it apart.Then during cooking the water is dripping from the handle onto the counter constantly and there is always a water residue underneath the bowl.The lid is not air tight and never was. You can get burn just by standing next to it because of the hot steam coming out all over , where it not suppose to. I’ve seen same issue with other customers.And water reservoir gets horrible residue every time I cook there even though I use distilled water . So you have to descale it every few days.So much for a $270 French piece of “art”!Pleas see pics I’ve been taking for a good 2 months to clearly show how bad it is

I’m a soon to be crunchy mom and one thing I feel really strongly about is making my own baby food instead of relying on jars and pouches. I wanted something that would make the process simple and efficient, but I also did not want plastic touching my baby’s food. The parts are easy to rinse and wash, and since everything is glass and stainless steel it does not feel flimsy or cheap.It’s definitely an investment, but if you plan to make a lot of homemade baby food, it feels like something that will pay for itself pretty quickly. For anyone wanting to skip the canned options and have full control over ingredients, this makes the process way less overwhelming.

I’ve been really happy with this baby food maker so far. I like that I can put the food in, steam it, and then blend it without having to move everything to another appliance. It makes making homemade baby food a lot less of a hassle. The blender does a good job getting fruits and vegetables nice and smooth, and I like that I can leave it a little thicker as baby gets used to different textures.The 42-ounce bowl is a good size and lets me make enough for several meals instead of making a tiny batch every time. It’s also nice being able to see everything while it’s cooking. Cleanup hasn’t been bad, and the dishwasher-safe parts are a big plus because I definitely don’t want to spend forever washing baby food out of little pieces.I did take off one star because there are several parts to clean, and sometimes I have to blend a little longer to get the consistency I want. Overall, though, it’s been convenient and has made making homemade baby food much easier than I expected.

I’ve been looking forward to this stage, and the BEABA Babycook looks like it’s going to make everything so much easier.I love how convenient and compact it is, and it feels very well made. First of all I do not have a baby but I wanted this for myself and for making treats for my dog. I wanted something that was not plastic and small because I live in a small space. I've been eyeing this thing forever and I finally just decided to pull the trigger and get it. So far I have made basically a Napa cabbage and shrimp soup. The Napa cabbage was about 3-5 leaves and I added two large frozen shrimps. Set it to the third line and let it steam. When it finished I just added the water from the bottom and it made a perfect single serving for me and it was a nice set it and forget it type thing, which I really like having. I have also made a carrot puree with peanut butter for my dog for a frozen dog treats. The blending seems to do a great job, I had zero clumps and it was well blended. I have just done easy steamed veggies. This thing handled it like a champ. I really like the larger capacity because I have a small steamer for my eggs from Walmart and a little chopper also from Walmart but both of their capacities is very small like one to two cups and this one being five cups has been amazing. It allows me to do a larger batch.I saw in the comments that someone mentioned in the handle it was harder to wash. It took me a second to realize that the bottom base also comes off. The handle does not come off so we'll see how that goes. The blender blade is a little bit more difficult to twist on and off. I wish they would have included a little wrench or a key type thing to help twist it on and off. I did also notice that the water tank side did start getting spotty but I took a q-tip and some vinegar and kind of rubbed it out and it seemed to have gotten it out. So far I really like it and I'm looking forward to finding other uses for it.

Close and lock the lid in place.Place the glass bowl onto the appliance. Important – make sure the handles are aligned, and the steam valve is in the right place.Plugin the Babycook.Press the Steam button.When finished steaming, the machine will beep 5 times.Carefully (contents will be hot), release the lid, take out the stainless steel basket, and pour the cooking water into a separate glass measuring cup.Place the glass container back onto the machine and pour the cooked food into the glass container.Close the lid.Press and hold the Blend button until you get your desired texture. Strawberries and apples take less time than sweet potatoes or carrots. Then you have to blend the food, which can take between 3-5 minutes. Overall, a batch of puree will take 20-30 minutes to make from start to finish.The Babycook does indeed have a slightly longer cooking time than the same method on the stove. But it is a very passive cooking system, and once you click the Steam button, you can walk away knowing that it will automatically shut off when it’s done. And stick with me a minute because I am about to do some math (which still hurts my post-baby head). The average baby eats 12 ounces of baby food a day, or 360 ounces a month, which would roughly be $108 a month for store-bought baby food. So in three months, this machine pays for itself.It would also be a great option to add it to your baby shower registry or borrow one from a friend that has passed the puree stage.Beaba filled with bubbly water.CleaningYes, you will need to clean the Babycook. But it doesn’t take a ton of time. Here is what each cleaning will look like.Take the blade out of the glass container.Hand wash the delicate parts – glass container, stainless steel basket, lids, seals and blade.Let air dry.All of these parts or also dishwasher safe! But the manual does state, “long-term dishwasher cleaning can result in premature wear on the parts.” So I would hand wash all the parts when I have time and then feel confident that I could also toss them into the dishwasher when needed.There is also a descaling process (similar to what you should do with a coffee maker) that will need to happen every 50 cycles.Cleaning Tip: One thing I love to do to make cleaning the Babycook a little easier is that I fill the glass container 1/4 of the way full of warm water and 1-3 drops of dish soap. Then I put the lid on and put the container back on the machine, and pulse for 5 seconds intervals 3-5 times until all the food is off the container. Just make sure that you don’t fill the container too full, or it might overfill. So let’s take a closer look.This is a product that is steaming food. So there is bound to be a small amount of hot water that escapes during this process, similar to what you would find when steaming something on the stove.For my first trial run, I ran a cycle following the directions to a tee, double-checking everything. After steaming the produce, I did notice a small amount of liquid at the base of the machine under the glass container. There was no water on my counter.Now, I ran another steam cycle, but I left the handles of the stainless steel basket, glass container, and lid slightly askew. After the full cycle ended, there was water on my counter and under the machine’s base. Having those handles separated did make a huge difference in how much water escaped the glass container.So, yes. The Babycook will leak if you don’t line up your handles. Here’s what a couple of parents have to say from the amazon review section…I received my first Beaba in 2014 for my first child’s baby shower. I have used it probably 3-4 nights a week for the last SEVEN YEARS. And it still works perfectly. However, now that my third son is on solids, and I’m looking at at least another 7 years of steaming veggies for dinner, I decided to upgrade my old model. Any vitamins/minerals that are unchanged from cooking collect in the water vapor that are caught in the bottom. Remove produce from basket add to the collected water and hold the button to make the baby food. Super easy, super clean, and does a terrific job at making parent life simpler. Es muy practica pero no viene con instrucciones, ni trae ningun manual. Siempre se tira el agua, no se si tenga alguna defecto o si estoy poniendo algo mal.

Terrible design. I cannot lock the blade back in place after wash. My husband could lock the blade back for a couple times. It took a lot of force and one time he injured his finger with a cut and started bleeding. Machine had a burnt smell when it was only on steam mode. The finishing on the product did not feel like it is a $350 machine. Definitely would not recommend for this price and returning my machine now.
