I am torn on five stars. For me, I would give it 5 all the way down, but it was a long road to get there. I have sensitive skin, sensitive eyes, and am on full skin cancer watch ever since I had four incidents in a row. All meaning my sensy little face can only handle a long list of requests: fragrance free, zinc only, moisturizing, and able to reapply without pilling. ENTER COTZ! After trying so many zinc sunscreens, from Aveeno to Supergoop to EltaMD to Coola to No Ad to Sun Bum, etc... this is the ONLY (face) sunscreen that doesnt burn my eyes or pill or dry my skin out.. It works for me beautifully and the tint is almost invisible but leaves my skin looking dewy AF. This all comes with a couple caveats. Sticky!!! My first week was a big struggle; touching my face would leave my fingers tacky but that meant I couldn't touch my face (win win!). Leading me to.... absorption. If I put this on too close to leaving the house, I can guarantee I'll get a little city dirt or even a gnat stuck to my face! Seriously, it's gotta sit on you for at least 30 minutes. Next was staining, I had to learn to put this on last and ONLY my face or it would stain any top I had on no matter the color. You MUST double cleanse with an oil (I use plain jojoba) and follow up with a water based cleanser (inkey list salicilic acid cleanser) to wash all that stuff off. No matter what sunscreen you use, you should double cleanse anyway. Anyhoo, all that being said, it's my favorite thing in the world. I'm on bottle #8 and see no end in sight. Even the most expensive zinc sunscreens still left my eyes burning for hours, this goes literally on my eyelids. I can reapply on top of it easy. I have people on the street complimenting my skin glowiness. I can understand not wanting to go through all that rigamarole to protect your face but if you are like me looking for something that works juuuuust right? This might be the one for you. I find a bottle lasts me one month, a fair price to pay for protection, moisture, and a nice tint. Overall I would recommend this under my specific circumstances or if you need that extra moisture and like a dewy look.

I Love this sunscreen. I received this recommendation from my dermatologist Dr Michelle Henry. She was feature in various blogs and also has had segments on the TODAY show. Ever since I started using Cotz my skin has been radiant and moisturized. I do not use a moisturizer because I feel this does enough. First I started with the richly tinted one which was great but then I noticed it was too dark for my skin. I noticed it more after I put it on. Then I realized there was a lightly tinted type. I tried it and it's perfect. Goes with my skin perfectly. With both types, after rubbing it in, I never noticed that whiteness I always used to see. These were recommended for people working have that issue of seeing the white color on their skin after applying. I've been using this for years and I love it. This is my go to.

I am enjoying it so far. It does not leave a white cast and makes my face glow. I have combination skin and use a moisturizer before applying this. Good product.

I have acne prone, combo oily skin. I have acne scars. This sunscreen does a good job at moisturizing, leaves no white cast and I feel adequately protected from the sun. I think it helps with preventing worsening hyperpigmentation. However it’s very thick. I would strongly recommend using a cleansing balm or micellar water to remove it each time after use. It also has a strong mineral scent but not too bothersome to me. I wouldn’t recommend for oily skin because it can get very shiny. It feels more waxy oily rather than just regular oily. I don’t know if I would recommend reapplying this sunscreen, maybe use a sunscreen stick instead for reapplication after using this.

I’ve used this sunscreen for a very long time and it’s simply the best mineral SPF for dry skin. It’s 20% zinc but blends in SEAMLESSLY and never gets lumpy or chunky around the hairline, eyebrows or even facial hair if you’re a guy. It’s just invisible. Even though it says tinted don’t expect much of a tint and I would say zero coverage. It’s pretty dewy though so you have to be okay with that. I’ve used this in the blazing sun in Jamaica and Dominican and have never had a burn on my face so I know it’s very effective. I wish they would make bigger tubes because I’m repurchasing prolly every 5-6 weeks.

I was hoping it would would be a replacement for Peter Thomas Roth’s mineral tinted sunscreen, but it doesn’t have enough coverage for me. In the pic, Cotz is on the tip and Peter Thomas Roth on bottom. It’s not thick like like PTR. The tint is only enough to prevent a white cast, not for coverage. It smells fine. If you don’t want coverage and just don’t want to look like a ghost, it’s perfect.

Easy to rub in and having the slight tint offers more skin protection from damaging UV rays

This is my favorite! Ulta no longer carries this brand and luckily I was still able to find it. The lightly tinted covers imperfections, blends great and doesn’t feel heavy on the skin. Great for everyday use!

Really good coverage for the amount of spf in product, goes a long way, does not upset my skin despite sweating outside at work with it. My skin is extremely prone to breakouts if given natural zinc sunscreens that can clog your pores but this did not cause a single zit despite a very physical outdoor job.
