The package arrived well packed. The size is a perfect single serving size. Mackeral in olive oil is the perfect combo for omega 3 and polyphenols. Will buy again.

Mackerel is not very fishy tasting, and is very nutritious. The packets are the right size for a serving, and are packaged to have a long and healthy shelf life. Glad I purchased them, and will again.

As other reviews mentioned there is quite a bit of liquid in the pack. My biggest problem with this is opening the foil without making a mess. I open with scissors immediately below the seal very carefully. The contents are then dumped over a slice of whole wheat bread on a plate or bowl. I add some hot sauce and enjoy. There is also plenty of meat in the package as well. It looks and taste of good quality and exceeded my expectations. This makes a good breakfast for me.

Fish in a foil packet. Ok, some people like kale. Some people will never like it, and no amount of kale massage can change their opinion. Same with mackerel. My advice is: if you don't like fishy fish, you probably shouldn't get this. Me? I LOVE sardines and mackerel. Nice, oily fish with a strong flavor. I've gotten 3 cases of this product, and have found it to be consistently good. It's not too strong for mackerel - I've had stronger tasting stuff. Also it has fairly big chunks of fish considering the size of the package, not a lot of "crumbs", and no bones. The packet is a nice size for a serving. My cats love the juice/oil. A drawback is that I can't open it without scissors as I have to pull so hard the packet rips suddenly and fishy juice goes everywhere - something to consider if you're taking it in your lunch for work. Or camping in bear country. It would be bad to go hiking in bear territory if you spilled mackerel juice all over your spiffy REI outfit. I'm pretty much happy with the quality and price. It's handy, good for sandwiches. It's good with Greek olives. It's good on a micro-greens salad. I think I read some people complained about where it came from. Are there even cannery facilities in the US anymore? It would be great if this was a product of the USA, but it's not. I choose not to judge it on that. Unless the quality takes a nosedive, I'll continue getting this.

Love mackerel taste but the pouch holds little amounts of fish. It’s like 50/50 fish and oil. Hopefully the soy oil they use is healthy. Final thoughts after finishing 20 out of 30 packets.. Okay there is a good amount of liquid compared to fish mostly oil. So make sure for your recipe, that having a bit of oil would be beneficial. Second, the fish pieces tasted pretty whole, like actual fish not tuna like. But, there’s not that many maybe just enough if you master your recipe. I cook for one so it works. And maybe I don’t eat much like I used to before. But for this fair price of 29.99 for 30 packets? Maybe it’s worth a try. Tastes satisfying. A bit oily but works for me (I put it on the bottom of the rice cooker, added some pink salt/black pepper/oregeno/dried dill before adding a single person portion of uncooked rice and water). I dont wash the rice just put it right in on top. Then added a handful of Auguson frees dried spinach and there’s you go, my healthy full satisfying just enough breakfast I made today.
