Gourmet GrillMaster 7"x15" Cedar Grilling Planks (8 Pack) - Extra Large, Extra Wide, Extra Thick - Organic Western Red Cedar Wood Planks

I ordered cedar planks from this vendor a few months ago and have been very satisfied. When they introduced this larger size I wanted to check them out. These are manufactured very well and have uniform smooth surfaces. Corners are rounded. Well packaged with complete instructions for use.I have used planks mostly for salmon with great results . These larger planks with hold a huge fillet (several pounds) or multiple smaller pieces to accommodate a crowd. You can also put a whole rack of ribs on the 7 x 15 size . I usually serve right on the plank.One of my daughters snatched a plank for a craft project . My other daughter who went to Johnson & wales culinary school tried a plank with salmon said it came out awesome! I think I will get her some as a gift.

I'm only rating the plans a 3 because my husband hasn't had a chance to use them. But I will say, they were delivered on time and they are definitely larger than your normal plank and they smell soooo good and I can't wait to try whatever gets grilled on them!

Does not really give a strong enough flavor to my broiled salmon. Because you need to marinate the salmon in a salt solution (such as soy sauce with ginger, garlic, mustard and olive oil) to prevent the white protein ooze, the marinade overwhelms any flavor from the planks.

Very nice wide planks from Pacific Northwest cedar. Planks are smooth on both sides and exactly as described, which was not the case with other planks I bought. The packaging says "organic" Pacific Northwest cedar, but I am not sure what "organic" means in this context. Nice product.
