Greenworks 40V 16" (Push) Cordless Lawn Mower, 4.0Ah Battery,Push Button Start
Great to have my own lawnmower. It will eventually save me money, I've been paying to have my lawn mowed twice monthly in the summers. The mower has been working great. I find the battery lasts much longer than what I hear from other reviewers.. The grass gets mowed well, and I think fast, from what I was expecting. I'm 78 yrs old, and never thought I'd do my own mowing, and was encouraged by other 70 something friends to get a mower. It's been working fine and the pushing of the mower is pretty effortless, although,, someone said I should get the one that is self propelled, but this one does the job. I put the battery in the charger as soon as I finish mowing. It is pretty quiet and easy to push. I didn't have any problem putting it together, friend had a minor amount of work to assemble it. It's lightweight and easy to handle. I haven't learned how to fold it, I guess I'll do that in the winter when I won't be using it.

Does it mow good in high grass? - Impressive!
Ok so let me start with probably useless information but please read on if you’re curious . I have always been a huge fantasy and sci fi fan - so as technology advances and things just get cooler I anticipate seeing how they work . So here we go with the actual valuable information . I had a name brand gas mower last season , hit a tie down strap that was cemented in the ground . Bent blade, the whole shaft , cracked the motor. =Done So I was in the market - I found this , read some reviews like everyone else . I liked what I seen and ordered it . Now here is where I was blown away, first and foremost strait out the box it was lightweight as described , handle makes it easy to handle , lift , and control - the weight is balanced well . My overall first honest opinion and reaction -wow! But at the same time I said this is gonna mow the yard , feels like the little tikes mower I used as a kid like a toy . It was packaged nicely and the level of support and attention to the packaging mattered to me because it being lightweight and possibly being thrown around , or tossed around during shipping . So 5-star there . And getting it out of the box , it was literally 4 handles. That are click in place by the way . Like literally can not be any easier . So popped the handle up into place check the stability and shakiness in the handle and the base - there was none, thanks to the sleek design . Firm and no play , instant control . Now to the battery and the charging . Again packaged nicely , I had no worry about a defected battery based off of appearance after opening it . I put it on the charger for the first charge - and here is the part you will have to choose , I did not charge it the recommended hours as most people don’t but it does matter with some devices and products . I charged it for 3 hours and at that point it was fully charged . The next day was the day to put it in action . So put the batter in and let me tell you Getting it started literally push of a button , no pulling a cord , no repeated cranking , pushed one time , pulled handle down - there it went , running a quiet humming noise, almost nothing to hear over . The sound is literally none . You will be able to hear every lyric to every song your listening to lolbvs . So I like that . It is very quiet while running . 5-star there as well . Now to the part that matters - mowing , how does it mow ? Well I will tell you I have a small yard which is why I got the model I did. The -1 hour run time is accurate so far . By the time I am done mowing it literally is on the last bar of green . However it does not run differently as the power is running low , it is consistent cutting until the battery dies , the power actually revs up when it needs to and idles back down when not needed and normal . So this is a well built machine . And I actually recorded a video of a section next to my yard that was overgrown . I’m not sure about the sound but I hope it’s to where you can hear it run while working hard . The video below is right before I quit for the day so it was at the last green bar at this point . And it didnt skip a beat . Kept working as well as it had been . So my final thoughts on this product - truly impressive . I have worked construction for over 20 years , used multiple types of tools in my life . And have used even a the olde manual mower with 2 wheels and blades , and I’ve used gas mowers , self propelled , riders , zero turns . This is an impressive machine . If you have a small yard , want a nice clean smooth cut . Easy to handle . Don’t want to worry about gas or gas prices when it’s time to mow . This is definitely a product you should invest in . I say that with absolute confidence. This is a purchase I’m glad I made and invested in . I hope this helps , there is a lot of doubt surrounding electronic tools , vehicles, etc … but the technology behind it now days is very different than what they were so the products them selves are very different . ( i have used it for 5 mows at the point in the video as well ) 5-star product all around .

Great mower for someone unable to start traditional pull start gas mowers
This lawnmower was purchased as a way to avoid starting and maintaining a gas mower. It came in 3 parts. The 2 pieces of a handle, the main machine, and the clipping bag. The instructions were simple to follow. No tools were needed to put it together. I did put the handle on backwards at first, but the clamps wouldn't shut until it was correct. I ordered an extra battery just in case one didn't do what I needed it to do. I ran it for 20 minutes before I stopped, so I don't have full battery length to report yet. It cut really well. It was easy to push. A bit lighter than the gas mower. I am happy with the purchase at this time. The 19inch cutting path I was worried would be too narrow, but it was very similar to the 21 inch gas mower I used to use. I barely noticed the difference. This is a great mower for a youth or a woman on her own. It was quieter than the gas mower, but that was not a reason for purchase.

Great battery mower!!!
Have had this mower for several months now and am ready to offer my opinion ... I really do like this mower!! This is the first battery operated mower I have owned and was a bit worried when I bought it. We have a little over a 1/4 acre and our yard is mostly flat. Have had many gas powered mowers and was ready to try the battery craze!! And, I'm glad I did. The mower operates smoothly - is very quiet and light weight. Glad I did not opt to spend the extra money on self propelled. One battery will usually do the whole yard - about 35-45 minutes of run time. The height adjustment is easy - the few controls are easy - the whole process -- easy!! Loading the battery is simply. No vibration. No running to get gas in the can. No gas can in the garage. Very simple to operate and own. Does a nice job of cutting. I do the mulching option and will eventually try the bag just to see what it's like. Bought several other tools from this company and am happy with them all - and having extra batteries (the one battery fits all is a MUST and really works well). The only negative about this mower is the size - I purchased the smaller 16" cutting path and, although I really don't need bigger, it might save a little time (ok, just being a bit lazy to be honest!!). I would recommend this mower and this brand. Make sure each tool uses the same battery - just a suggestion - because it makes life easier with 3 batteries - there is always one charged and ready. (I also bought the weed eater and blower for those curious) Great product and I only hope I'm still this happy with it next year and the year after ..... happy mowing!

My Dad Loved It!
I don't know much about lawn mowers, but if it's dad-approved, it has to be good! Everything was as described and shown. He loved how easy and fast it got the job done, even though our grass was a little too long. He also liked how it's not as loud as other lawn mowers we've owned. One thing he did mention is how the battery lasted less on the first use, but after then started lasting much more, so no biggie. Overall, very good product, I'm glad I got it at a good deal :)

It's a keeper
I never thought I'd see the day when I would look forward to mowing the lawn, but with this cordless mower, I kinda do. It's lightweight and way less cumbersome than a gas-powered mower, and for a mower, it's super quiet. It has good battery life; I was able to mow my entire front lawn, which is pretty sizeable, and the battery wasn't fully charged (only to 3 LEDs). You press the button on the handlebar and squeeze the cable bar to start it, and release the bar to stop. The battery was partially charged out of the box and only took about 3 hours to fully charge. The battery isn't that much of a hassle to insert as some have said. You lift the plastic dome over the battery compartment, turn it so the slots line up with the teeth in the compartment, and snap it in...easy peasy. Squeeze the release button and pull it out; too easy. The handlebar was simple to put together and attach to the mower right out of the box. It's powerful enough to cut through tall grass and thick grass like Augustine grass. I still use my riding mower for my large backyard, but I use this mower for my front yard and those tight areas close to my house in the back where the riding mower can't get to. I still get some exercise and burn calories, but I'm not as exhausted as I used to be, especially in this Texas heat. It's a good investment.

Makes Lawncare Easy
Apologies for the long review. I update products that I use alot & depend on. March 20, 2026: Yard was quite overgrown for 1st cutting, but mower blew through it in 40 min with battery power to spare. Blades are still sharp. I made sure to clean the mower well last fall before storing it for the winter. Still looks new & starts up quickly. Two years in and this mower has proven to be a very smart investment. Soooo glad I dont gave to worry about rising gas prices right now. Charging a battery is easy peasy. March 20, 2025: The mower is still working great. First cutting of the year is done. The Greenworks weedeater I got last year is also working perfectly, right along with the electric pressure-washer I bought 6 years ago. I saved over $1600 in lawncare expenses & home maintenance projects last year. **I was not paid for this review** July 25, 2024: Sharing a little trouble-shooting info... If the battery gets overheated, the mower will just stop. I had this happen & I thought the battery needed recharging. If you pop the battery into the charger this way, you'll get the red indicator light. The battery simply needs to cool down first & then it will work again. I'm now storing the battery inside the house, not out in my garage in 90+° temps. Overheating it, as well as keeping it sitting on the charger 24/7, will eventually deplete it's capacity to hold a charge. Hope this helps. Update #2: The mower powered through a huge area of thick, knee-high grass in the backyard. First time cutting it this year. I also did the front at 7am & the grass was wet. Mower ran like a champ. After removing the battery, I tipped the mower on its side, cleaned the underside with a small putty knife, gently rinsed it with the garden hose & let it dry. Mower still works great. Update #1: Mower continues to perform very well. The battery is tricky to remove. It has a release button on it that has to be pressed down at the same time as it's pulled out. I put the handle of the mower up against the siding of my house & it keeps the mower from rolling as I get the battery out. OG Review: First time I've ever tried out any kind of battery operated yard equipment. I'm tired of paying the lawn guy to cut my entire yard when it's only the front area that needs to be consistently mowed. This mower arrived brand new in the box. I had trouble with the handle assembly & the two sets of cam locks because they don't tighten and clamp down the easiest. That took a few tries. The battery slides into the charger which blinks green when charging, and then stays solid green when charged. The battery clicks into the top of mower much the same way. The battery has a power indicator on it - press the small button on the end of the battery and there are 4 lights that show the amount of charge. Starting the mower is sooo easy. It takes about ~5 seconds to get it powered on & instructions on how to do so are printed on the mower by the starter button. If you need to stop the mower, release the bar. Stopping & starting the mower up a few times was no problem for me. The lever on the deck that adjusts the mower height moves easily and locks firmly into place. My first test run of this mower went well. I did my entire front yard and around the side of my house in 35-40 minutes with a battery that was still going strong. The mower will speed up if the grass is thicker & runs slower for less dense areas. I'm not using the grass catcher, so no idea how that hooks on or performs. What I really like is how lightweight the mower is and how quietly it runs. I doubt my neighbors across the street could even hear it. One important piece of info that I'll pass along. After watching a YT tutorial and review on this mower, it was recommended NOT to keep the battery sitting in the charger 24/7. Charge the battery just before use, recharge it again after and then take it off the charger & store it separately. Doing so extendss the life of the battery. Overall impression on this mower: Easy startup, runs super quiet, it's lightweight so that you hardly exert any energy pushing it along and it has a long-lasting battery charge. For me, this mower will pay for itself in just 3 uses (I got it on sale) and I'm excited to finally be able to cut back on yard expenses. I'm also thrilled that I don't have to be bothered with the fuss of fueling & and winterizing a gas-powered piece of equipment.

Dont hesitate, buy this battery operated mower
The wife uses this mower for where the rider won't get to. She loves how quiet it is and how light weight and easy to push it is. It actually mows really well and cuts the grass very good. The only thing is the 40V battery will not last for a big yard. So, it would be good to have a backup. It handles well and seems to be very durable so far. I think we have many seasons we will get out of this mower.

Facil, ligero, motor no tan ruidoso
