They work very good for snakes that are to 2 1/2 feet long. I recommend if you come across a bigger snake, you will need the longer one for sure. Your hand is still too close with a smaller one, but they grab good. I used it yesterday with a rattlesnake Easter Sunday as a matter of fact I give it five stars.

After trying Several of these reaching grabber items, I have found that this one really is the best. It's sturdy and lightweight and just the right length. Any longer would be too awkward to control and any shorter would not reach far enough. You need it just MORE than an arms length. I Pull items out of boxes when they have dropped into there and I can do it with this without standing on a step stool so it's perfect. It's also very well made and feels like the cable and handle can handle a fair amount of weight. Maybe up to about 5lbs or so? Worth the money. A great purchase.

Strong enough to pick up and move a big snake.

I just used it for the first time today.Like many,Im using it to pick up fallen branches,debris and even reaching tree clinging vines.No snakes so far,but,being almost 80 ,I use it while on my mower.I have a little over an acre of land ,with many large trees.I have used less expensive grabbers before.They worked for awhile but not built heavy enough to last.So far the Snake Tong is working well,and hopefully last much longer than the less expensive ones.

Works great for grabbing a snake from a safe distance. I like it so much I now own 3 so the snake doesn’t get away bc I have to go get the tool from my UTV. The only problem I ever had was once I couldn’t grab a snake hard enough bc the lock tab got in the way. The lock is probably useless and shouldn’t be used since you have to squeeze the grip to set it which leaves the spring stretched all the time which will weaken it over time. Easy to remove the tab though. I hold a snake with one hand and use a phone app to determine if it is poisonous before deciding its fate.

It is a excellent snake creeper is really stable it make a little bit of a noise inside of the solar throat but otherwise it's safe to use if you know what you do it can harm a snake or kill it if you press too hard on the handle but really strong will buy it again I use mine and catch a few big snakes it's a thing out of thing for that product
