I'm not getting any scent from mine??

You probably won't get much of a scent and if you get one it won't last long. I've bought several of these from the Dollar Tree store. They only cost $1.00 per bag that's why it doesn't last long.

What was the sample essential oil that came with the potpourri?

There wasn't a sample essential oil included in the package.

I need a scent that is not overpowering. will these work?

I bought the turquoise Ocean Breeze potpourri and it is not overpowering, just a nice fresh scent.
