Sniper Elite III - PlayStation 4 Standard Edition

I haven't played this game for very long yet but I'm so impressed thus far that I had to write a review and get the word out!I have always been a big fan of sniper games but somehow did not play the Elite series. When I was about to buy V2, I found that V3 was coming soon for PS4 so I decided to wait. I got the game on release day and have played about 5 hours (4 missions) and I must say this is a great game!The visual clarity on this game is simply amazing. The levels are designed really well with high level of detail. The open map provides plenty of options in terms of how you want to tackle a mission. Enemy AI is not bad at all; they take cover where possible and try to flank you where possible.Weapon customization is somewhat limited from what I have access to so far, but will likely open up as I progress more. The number of traps and gadgets are also great, nearing 5 or 6 different ones to choose from.From a gameplay perspective, you can customize the difficulty/realism by choosing the bullet physics you want, as well as the level of frequency for the X-ray killcam; you can turn off the X-ray or make it quick if you prefer. At the start of each new level, you can also modify the difficulty setting if you like....awesome. There are plenty of autosave checkpoints to make sure you don't lose progress when you die on a large level....great thinking!I almost forgot to mention the sound design for this game is simply superb. The music resembles that of a Hollywood film and the sound effects really make this game even more immersive. When walking on wooden steps, you can hear the wood planks creak!All in all, this is one of the best games I have played in many months, and I highly recommend this to anyone who is looking for a "cerebral" shooter that rewards patience and planning.

I love this game! I haven't played the multiplayer, but the campaign is a lot of fun! The title really says it all, you are an elite sniper in North Africa during WWII fighting against the Nazi war machine! I really enjoy sniping enemies in any FPS, but this game is designed around sniping enemies, so it takes it to a whole other level! You are able to get different guns and make upgrades to those guns to better suit your play style and you are also able to choose different weapons and loadouts, because you aren't always able to use only your sniper rifle! This game has a good degree of difficulty and easier settings if you prefer, though on the hard setting, its more realistic due to the fact that you have to take more variables in to consideration when sniping enemies! You also have a kill cam, which for people new to the series, is a cam that basically shows a very detailed x-ray view of kills with your sniper rifle in slo-mo, where you are able to follow the trajectory of your bullet and watch an x-ray view of said bullet entering your enemies body and see the damage it does to bone and organs, such as exploding his heart or breaking a bone and riccocheting around inside of him, its very graphic, yet awesome! All in all, this is an incredibly fun and entertaining game with decent graphics and an amazing kill cam!

Sniper Elite II was great, so is this game. Love the setting for this one, and they've really got a nice element in the kill cam. However, this game really falls short in a few areas that make me scratch my head. Big complaint is being equipped with weapons for long-distance sniping and finding myself constantly in close-quarter fights with lots of enemies and little chance of remaining stealthy. Far Cry 3 excels at the stealth game...not sure why a "sniper" game falls short in this area. Also, enemies still zone in on your location immediately and simultaneously once you fire a shot, despite the game claiming to have improved this element. Somewhat unrealistic.

This game is great. It doesn't have the high end graphics like 'The Last of Us' for example, but it is still pretty good. When you play this game for the very first time, it seems difficult. But once you get used to the controls and to how all the interactions were conceived, it becomes pretty easy and very realistic too. With the exception of some situations where the enemy for sure would have seen you if it was a real scenario and not a game, it all develops nicely. The game itself is short, there are fewer maps (missions) than I expected. What I like about this game is the possibility to upgrade the equipment based on what you find on maps and out of the bodies of those you snipe. To get a more realistic feel during game play, I turn off the music. All the other sounds come to life, from crickets to water flow and winds, walking, squeaking noises from ladders, enemies talking, etc... all sound effects are really good. Once you finish the game in 'cadet' mode (easy) try to play it on other levels, that's when the fun really begins. Worth the money, I hope more games like this are made by them in the future.

Close to the second one, but that had the city scenes, but this one plays pretty much the same. First game I got since I got this PS4 that is actually decent and worth the money. Played the previous one on the 360 and this is pretty much the same, just different country and scenes, but same old x ray deaths. As always a fun game, pretty well thought out, no problems, difficulty levels play pretty consistent for both me and my kids.....didn't have a complaint on the last nor do I have one here.One thing that is different is the testicle shot.....either that or I've never hit them there before....

前作が大好きでかなりやりこんだ者としてレビューしたいと思います。まず、国内で発売予定だったにも関わらず1ヶ月前になって急な発売中止。理由も今のところはっきりしておらず、楽しみにしていた方は残念を通り越して憤りすら感じていると思います。にも関わらず、国内では徐々に陽の目を浴びつつある洋ゲーの中でもまだマイナーな部類に入るタイトルのためそこまで大きく騒がれていません。これでは余計に腹が立ちますね。利権的なトラブルにしろ、売上でローカライズコストを回収できないと判断したにしろとにかくスパイクは１日でも早く理由の詳細を明確にしない限りジャストコーズを糞ゲーに変貌させたスクエニのように、一部のユーザーから激しい恨みを買うことになる可能性があります。日本での人気は今一つですが、それくらいコアなファンから根強い指示を受けているタイトルでもあります。さて、本編ですが前作から進化している点はグラフィック。これは言うまでもないと思いますが、前作はPS3/360後期のソフトだったにも関わらずバイタルショット(このゲーム最大の売りである、放った銃弾が敵の体内を貫通する弾道をレントゲン写真の様に視覚化するエフェクト)以外はお世辞にも綺麗とは言えないグラフィックでした。その分内容が良かったので楽しめたのですが、良いところはしっかり作り込み、悪いところはしっかり手を抜いているのがこのゲームの特徴でした。そういった意味ではこのグラフィックの向上は正直驚きです。ゲームを制作する上で最も手間のかかるグラフィックを現行機の最高レベル、次世代機の50〜60%程度までには達しているのではないでしょうか。バイタルショット中のX線キルカメラも骨と内臓のみだった前作から、敵の筋肉層、骨格に巻き付く血管といった要素の描写が追加されかつ美麗なグラフィックで描かれるため爽快感が格段に向上しています。また車両にもキルカメラが採用されたことにより、エンジンに銃弾がめり込む様や、タンクの燃料に引火し爆発する様が詳細に視覚化されており本タイトルらしい拘りが散りばめられています。これによりプレイヤーのモチベーションはより高く保たれ、没入感もそれなりのものになっている印象です。舞台が前作の市街地から荒涼とした乾燥地帯となり、レベルデザインが強化され地の利を活用した戦いを強いられるため戦略性は増しているように感じました。スポッターなどの役割を与えられている敵もおり、なかなかスリルのある戦場が展開されます。ただ、ここで制作陣が息切れしてしまっているのがよくわかるのはそれ以外が「良くも悪くも前作と同じ」ということです。例を上げると同じエンジンを使っていると思われるため、モーションや物理演算処理などは相変わらずで、岩に登る時や降りる時は言い表しにくいのですが安っぽい動きをします。また、グレネードなどの投擲武器の軌道がぎこちないことが度々あります。その他狙撃の感覚的な操作性も変化はありません。悪く言えば手抜きなのでしょうが、正直安心したと言うか取っ付きやすさという意味で言えばシリーズファンとしては胸を撫で下ろした所でもあったりします。総評すると、前作V2は無印のリメイクでしたが斬新なシステムと世界観でシリーズの方向性を定め、今作3では甘かった部分を補完してより広げた内容になっているのではないでしょうか。ゴーストウォリアーシリーズのような現代戦のスカウトスナイパーを題材にしたスナイパーゲーもありますが、題材として扱いきれるクラシカルな武器による単純な狙撃の楽しさと理詰めを楽しめる本タイトルこそ、このジャンルの至高だと私は思います。日本ではまだ売上を保証されたビッグタイトルしか発売されていない次世代機ですがそれらはどうも表面的なクオリティだけで、すぐに飽きてしまうタイトルが多いと感じる今日この頃。ようやく、じっくり繰り返しやり込めるゲームがローカライズされることに喜んでいましたが、このタイミングで発売中止にするのはサイトに謝罪文を載せるだけで済むことではないと思います。それがさほど騒がれていないのもいかに日本の市場が洋ゲーを軽視し、薄っぺらい内容の和ゲーにしがみついているかがよくわかります。洋ゲー＝COD、BF、AC、GTA以外にないと思っている層が１日も早く絶滅することを願っています。

I bought this, it showed up quickly which was great. It was used, I didn't know that part. But whatever, I put it in my machine it appears the disc is damaged and it doesn't work.
