When I started using this item 2 or 3 years ago, I became aware that the manufacturer uses the very same product code and labeling for the product made from white ginger from China and the product made from pink ginger from Fiji. I've had many bottles from China and they are all light in color and delicious. I've had one bottle made from pink ginger from Fiji (from another store) and it was darker in color and it tasted awful! They are really 2 different products and should not have the same product codes and labeling. A small notice on the back of the label tells whether it is white ginger from China or pink ginger from Fiji. So far, the 2 purchases I made from this page were from China, but I am a bit concerned that now there are 2 videos here about the farming from Fiji, and I am wondering if they are bringing in bottles containing pink ginger from Fiji.

I thought this product would be minced but it is more of a loose and mushy paste. Even though that sounds bad it is actually very nice because I love ginger tea and this mixes well with warm water and honey. Much easier than buying whole ginger, peeling, slicing and steeping in a saucepan. Now I can have ginger tea when the mood strikes with hardly any more effort than heating some water. It makes a refreshing change from iced tea when the leftover ginger tea is cold. I use those round ice cube molds so when I make iced black tea or ginger tea I use some of each tea to make round ice cubes so my tea doesn’t dilute as it does when plain water ice cubes are used. Lovely product.

I do like fresh ginger. But sometimes one cannot find such things. Brought this jar to a summer campsite/lakehouse so we could use it as needed. It is not as flavorful as fresh ginger, but it punched above its weight class. Super convenient, easy to use, and good value. If you love ginger and will be in places without ginger, this could get you through those challenging times.

Smells great, tastes, great. Very spreadable and perfect for many dishes. Even in tea or smoothies. I will buy this again.

Score! I started drinking a healthy (and hugely addictive) nightly juice that calls for 1 tablespoon of ginger. Ginger is the Pringles of roots. Once you start you just can't stop putting it in EVERYTHING. My Dad was shocked when I excitedly told him I had purchased 80 ounces of ginger for a steal - Dad, you've obviously never had good ginger... There's an awesome squeeze tube brand you can get in your grocery refrigerated produce section... But it was rarely in stock at any store in my area! Plus, while it was tasty it was pretty expensive and had more sugar than I really wanted. No fresh ginger for weeks at a time either. Without much hope, I turned to Prime. After reading a ton of reviews I nervously picked these little jars. Would it taste good? Would the jars be opened or broken, like the other reviews (seemingly all from early 2018)?The shipment arrived on time and packaged for protection! The jars are each in their own little square compartments, in a tightly fitted box, inside ANOTHER box with packing pillows. At first glance everything looked perfect, then I noticed one jar was leaking and the lid was loose. I lifted and closely inspected every jar and found no other loose lids or leaking. Turning back to the offending jar I noted a small dent in the lid, as if it had been knocked with a butter knife (we did this all the time as kids to open tightly sealed jars). When I inspected the contents of the jar there was barely any dried ginger. It smelled and looked good. Best I can reason this has to have happened in shipment either shortly before or after leaving the warehouse.Bottom line I am extremely thrilled with my purchase! I feel like this company truly cares about their product and that extends to their customers satisfaction. I could only suggest perhaps adding a plastic seal around each jar kid to help keep the lid securely in place, wrapping the jar box in bubble paper and labeling the box "glass" and/or "liquid contents" . The Ginger People can only do so much, your delivery people also play a hand in the condition of your package when it arrives at your door.I will be a repeat customer. My first jar is almost empty and I MUST HAVE GINGER IN MY LIFE!!! If they could also ship me a never ending supply of fresh parsley my life would be complete lol. Oh AND, this ginger has less sugar and calories than my previous brand! I was at the store yesterday and saw my previous brand on the shelf. My hand instinctively when to grab the lone tube but I pulled back because what I have now is sooooooo much better!! I'm extremely tempted by their sliced ginger but I feel like it would be so good I wouldn't stop eating it straight from the jar in a single seating. Maybe soon ;)

it's nearly impossible to find pickled ginger today (for sushi/sashimi) that has not been adulterated with some form of artificial sweetener such as aspartame or sucralose. This product is clean and delicious. We serve it with sashimi. The family loves it.

Paid $47 for "12 pack" but only 1 jar was sent. Got reimbursed very quickly...........and could keep the free jar!! All good.............
