What are the approx. dimensions? Either before or after washing.. I can use common sense.

The original dimensions are 27 by 27 on this particular model. Unfortunately, this model shrinks unevenly and ends up not-square. (Which doesn't make sense considering the included folding directions are for square diapers.) If you want diapers that are square after washing, look at the Osocozy Organic Flat Cloth Diapers (Dozen), supposedly 27x27 AFTER shrinkage.

What are the black dots in the fabric? They are all over in the ones I received

that is what natural cotton looks like. They are just specs in the cotton that were not bleached to white because the cotton wasn't bleached

I live in a climate where drying is difficult. I'd like to use these for dish towels. Do they dry quickly?

I've never tried air drying them, but I would think so since they are pretty thin when completely unfolded. They dry really quick in my dryer!

Yes I believe so. We did and my soon to be middle child never leaked out of them and they soaked up alot from spills.
