Not bad, but could benefit from practice quizzes and more examples.
Taxes Made Simple is fairly straightforward and comprehensive, and can be finished within one or two days. The overall material is explained in a simple fashion; however, if you initially did not have any knowledge about taxes at all (like I for example), this book may still not have all the answers to your questions. I recommend this book to people who already generally know a good deal about taxes but could certainly use a quick refresher on some of the basic concepts and options. Although not the most detailed, Mike Piper explains the material in a clear and concise way. I would definitely purchase his other books to gain additional insight on other fields. I suppose that complete learning and true understanding, however, requires hands-on practice and tactile experience.

Great Introduction to Income Tax!
I was looking for a simple introduction to taxation to read before beginning a recent tax accounting course and this book totally fit the bill! Not only was I introduced to the most basic concepts of US personal income taxation, but by the end of reading it, I felt confident that I could tackle more advanced concepts. The tax code may constantly change, but the fundamentals that make up the tax code stay the same. The author has masterly acquainted the reader with these critical components: income, exemptions, above and below the line deductions to AGI, and credits--he even walks through the 1040 and its various supporting schedules. Not only that, Piper demystifies the Alternative Minimum Tax so deftly that even the novice will understand it (but may still not like it!). Although I already had a background in financial accounting, I'm certain that the absolute beginner could pick up this book, read it, and begin to work on their own return almost immediately. And even if someone isn't planning to do their own returns in the future, taxation is such an important part of life that a little familiarity with the topic couldn't hurt. Bravo to Mike Piper for making this topic so accessible to everyone!

Simply explained!
Subject: Feedback on Your Book Hi Mike, This is Mike! It's great to connect with you. Thank you for the book I purchased online. Your clear explanations are helpful to those with basic vocabularies, like me. I've always disliked reading because I often struggle with complex words, so I usually turn to YouTube. However, many YouTubers seek multiple views for their gain, and a lot of misguided information is thrown at us. Your book inspired me to explore more books that offer simple explanations, and now I check samples before buying. I've already purchased three Kindle books to learn more about finances instead of relying solely on YouTube. Please feel free to share my feedback. I want others to know they should notice your book. Understanding one's tax obligations is essential. Thank you, Mike!

Do Your Own Taxes!
Book was a nice short read, very concise in regards to all the tax knowledge that the average American individual should know. Will give you insight into what one should consider during doing taxes and how to approach spending money throughout the year to optimize taxes. You can save alot more doing your own taxes and this book will show you how. Dont be bullied by the government! There is a quote in this book I read, which I wish I knew before. "Your taxes are a negotiation about how much you should pay the government." Once you know it is a more friendly process and not so horrendous as the public makes it, it becomes less of a burden to do. Would highly recommend.

Basic but helpful
Overall, clear and concise. Basic, beginner level info but a quick read and delivers on what it promises. Feel like I could have a more informed conversation with my CPA now

Great book, but the Kindle version needs a little work.
This book is full of useful advice for those who want to understand taxes a little better. Granted, this is for those with little experience with taxes, but it still packs a lot of information. The best part is that most of the things explained in this also have examples to make the whole idea more understandable. I am not saying that I am a tax pro now, but I do know more than most because of this book. My only gripe about the whole thing is with the kindle version, the summaries don't edit in very well. But, it is only the summary/recap of what has already been explained, so you don't have to worry about really losing anything.

Not applicable for outside the US
Its a good book about US tax laws and how to efficiency reduce income tax. I live in Australia and can find certain similarities but would not recommend for anyone who lives outside the US.
