GENUINE Frigidaire 5304464438 Run Capacitor

The refrigerator stopped blowing cold and we lost a LOT of food. Cleaned it all out and it would turn on for a short while and then just quit. I could open the door, tap on the sides and it would start.. for 2-4 hours and then quit again.A bit of research, $20 later, and a very easy replacement and the refrigerator is working perfectly again.

Schedule tecnician for Wednesday 9/30. ~$1000 worth of food in the Freezer, what can I do in the meantime? Did some research and found this part as a possible culprit. Took a $30 gamble and it paid off. Freezer is back up and running and has been for a few hours now. Our technician is still coming but for $30 this is a great way to preserve your food until a professional can be scheduled out to your home.When I finished the install and powered it on, initially nothing happened. Luckily I stayed in the garage a few extra minutes because sure enough maybe 5 minutes later it started running.Your mileage may vary good luck.

The capacitor i ordered is a little smaller in size than the original one that i replaced but it is working just fine and the freezer is staying cold consistently again and the part showed up ahead of schedule

This product DOES NOT FIT model EI24RD65HS1 as the website says it does. Absolutely infuriating to have to a service call, open the back of the refrigerator, and to see that the part is CLEARLY WRONG. Awful. And because it took a while for a tech to come out, the part is mine to keep since I cannot return it. Never again will I trust amazon or whatever algorithm they or frigidaire used to determine if parts fit. Brutal.

Found old deep freeze on side of the road tracked down the problem and replaced the part.

After researching what parts my specific refrigerator's compressor needed, I found this replacement part came highly recommended. The price was good- Took a chance. Order arrived quickly and intact, but upon examination the metal spade connectors were the wrong size and shape. Darn! Had to send it back. Turns out that my Fridgidaire model, depending on the time of year it was made uses several "slightly" different parts, all of which have the same numbers but must be visually differentiated. Ugh!

I called to the service and they told me I had to replace the entire compressor and the engine. Both are in the rear. You know that changing the engine is very expensive almost the same as buying a new one refrigerator. Before the decision I tried changing the run capacitor. I bought it from amazon and got it in Chile in just 3 days. everything was ok, I installed it by myself. The the refrigerator works perfectly, but just two days. Then it stopped working again.It demonstrated that the problem is the Compressor not just the run capacitor.To change the run capacitor you first have to move the refrigerator to a clear area and remove the deck that is located at the bottom rear. Once you remove the deck you will find a black plug beside the compresor. You have to remove run capacitor with the plug and replace it for the new one. Then you put back the deck again. Turn on THE REFRIGERATOR again and check IR. It is simple. If you refrigerator workS normally during one week it is very good for you. Because you will have to change the compresor for a new one. Fully recommended to try this before any decision.
