Very strong, be careful!
This magnet is legit. A friend and i recently got into magnet fishing and this magnet is top notch. I did my research via multiple magnet fishing websites and decided brute magnetics is the best choice. I went with the 2600lb magnet because realistically it should pull up anything me and a friend or two can physically pull out of water. Anything more and i risk the chance of grabbing a car or something thats not physically possible to either pull out of water or remove the magnet from it. A friend was lifting the magnet out of the water on a bridge and got it stuck to the side on a beam, luckily there were 3 of us there and we barely got it off with all 3 of us pulling as hard as we can and on an angle.

Attractive qualities never in question
I brought a series or magnets to compare quality and cost. This was the most expensive one, but in a quality class the is second to none. I am still smiling about the additional thread sealer and the brick-$h!th0use styled robust design. The packaging was also overkill, which is perfect. Don’t accidentally confuse this with a crappy knock off, this magnet is overkill and sexy beautiful. I am thankful for knowing someone actually backs up the weight rating with real results, the cheaper ones with inflated claims of weight are not accurate. This one is the real deal. Loving it!! Side note: The only complaint is a cosmetic one. A small amount of slag metal was on the magnet and had to be cleaned off. 5sec fix. Didn’t snap a pic of it in action yet. Will update when I do.

Strong and durable
I have only had this magnet for about two weeks. So far it has pulled up more things from the water than my 1000 pound magnet. I do like that there are plastic screw plugs for the holes not being used. Magnet is easy to clean up. Will warn that it takes some strength to throw it out a decent distance. I imagine it would be great for straight down drops and pulls though. Kind of wish there was some kind of swivel connection so that the rope does not get twisted up. Maybe in a future product?

Quality Fishing Magnet
I can tell the way this magnet was assembled that it’s going to hold up. The actual neodymium magnets are held in the chromed steel housing with a tough resin. Plugs are included to protect the threads of the unused holes. The included eyebolts are very good quality and beefy. The threads are cut well to match the bolts so there isn’t excessive play. Of course, you should still make sure to use the included thread locker and lock washers to secure the eye bolts. It should go without saying but not everyone has a mechanic’s intuition and I get that. Snug the eye bolt down good so that it actually compresses the lock washer. I’m saying this because there really aren’t any detailed instructions included. I’ll definitely look to Brute Magnetics for any future magnet fishing purchases.

While working on our docks a 35-40 LB. high-lift jack was dropped in 10' of water. We tried to retrieve it with an anchor and line (grappling hook like) for nearly an hour. No luck. I ordered this giant magnet and took it back out to the lake a week later. After 15 minutes I retrieved my jack, a pair of needle nose pliers, and an F clamp that we had also dropped in the lake. The jack was ten feet from where we expected it to be... didn't think it could possibly "drift" but it did. I'm going to take my magnificent magnet to another lake next week just for fun. One thing to know, if you inadvertently let it contact the dock pipes below the water line, you may go diving after it. The thing sticks really tight (as it should). You can get it loose, but it takes some technique... slide it off unless you're Luke Skywalker or hmmmm.... Boy Wonder. This magnet has "super" strength. It's all good.

Powerful
My home was recently re-roofed and the contractor was diligent to clean up after the job. That said, it is impossible to see the hundreds of nails, staples, and sheet metal bits that fell into the lawn and gardens around my house. They are invisible to the eye but hazardous. I'm using this magnet to sweep the areas. I hung it on a 4-foot rope and swing it back and forth while slowing moving along. It's powerful pull draws most items right up, although I'm repeating areas and still getting more, but fewer, nails in previously swept areas. This will very much help cut down on the hidden hazards. The contractor did use a shop magnetic floor sweeper, but this magnet is far more powerful and you can hold closer to the grass, mulch, dirt areas that conceal the nails. Totally worth it for peace of mind here.

Make sure this is what you want
I have not had chance to check in water, but I was expecting a much stronger magnet, I have small magnet that can find screws in my walls, this magnet will not! I bought 2 for a project, I have not even open the second box because of the the first one would not do what I needed, and have 2 smaller magnets had more pull at 1/10th the cost. I need 360% magnets as well, so I didn't even look there to buy. I just expected much stronger for that price!

Good quality heavy magnet
Magnet is of good quality and strength. Purchased for a fishing magnet, and works well ! Like the optional eyelet mounting positions and apparent durability - would recommend !
