It’s a very smooth glide also, not loose or choppy. I use the feature a lot as I am always sitting/standing in diff positions. I highly recommend! **Q: The non-slip mat has partially detached. how would i go about reattaching it? what kind of glue would i need?** A: I haven’t had that problem yet but I did notice one end is starting to pull up. **Q: Is the mouse pad firm enough to write on? Or would the pen poke through the paper and into the mouse pad?** A: I don't think it would work too well to write on, and I do think the pencil would poke through the paper. That's an ongoing irritation, but I'm working on it. Otherwise, it was surprisingly easy to adjust to, although I have to roll it under my desk in order to turn my chair - because it has arms - and leave the desk. That's fine, and simple, but I worry that the very cheap, fragile connection between the pad and the clamp will wear out too quickly. Time will tell.
