I found them hard to hold the wire after crimping
Never got to the stage of using heat to srink the crimp connectors , as the wire did not hold in the joint after crimping, and yes the crimping tools are good

Work OK but need a lot of heat to shrink
These are pretty good but need a high temperature to shrink down enough to make a good seal on smaller wires. Have to be careful to apply the heat without affecting the wire insulation. Not a problem but care is needed. I found a hot air 'gun' (paint stripping) better than a naked flame.

These are quality made connectors. Don't waste your money on a product of lesser quality. I use butt connectors in all sorts of applications and have used a number of other manufacturers connectors. These are well made and come in a nice case that you won't just throw away. Don't buy them because of the case though. Buy them because of the quality and assurance that if you crimp these correctly using the proper gauge wire, you will have a solid connection that should last for as long as you could expect a crimp to hold in the various environments you will be using them in. On top of it all, they sent a follow-up email that was actually written by someone who cares whether or not you like their product. Hence why I am taking the time to write a review. Do yourself a favor and stop wasting your precious time comparing prices and pictures of other connectors. Just add these to the cart and you'll be happy. If I remember correctly, I read a review when looking these up where a person wrote that the inside receiver is too short or shallow. That is not true. As I wrote, if you use the correct gauge wire and tool your connection will be perfect!
