Perfect set for roll pins. Quality tools and made in the USA.

I have used Mayhew tools quite a bit as a forklift tech. Roll pin punches are a consumable tool, like any other punch, the punch will bend and get burs on it with hard use. I was finishing a job, having to straighten as old punch in a bench vise several times to complete the job. I ordered this kit to refresh my punch inventory. Very happy with the quality of these punches, very similar to my Snap-On roll pin punches, knurled grip on the strike side looks identical. Perhaps Mayhew produces these for Snap-On, not really sure on that. This set is made in my country, The United States of America, I like that. First use on the job has not identified any lack of strength. I have only struck them with a small 1 pound hammer. I refrain from using my 4 pounder, stupid against any punch and not needed on an indoor lift truck. I hope this review is helpful to anyone out there fixing forklifts, most likely reach truck load wheels. For around $60, I think this kit would be welcomed in your tool box.

The diameter of the body seems a little small, but for general use it should be suffice. Purchased for working on smowmobile clutches, gun assembly, light duty mechanical work. Haven't used them as yet but looks like a well made set of tools. Roll up pouch is well made and you can hang it on peg board or stow in tool box.

They work great and they are made in the USA. The pouch is of high quality too.

Bought these they are pretty strong . 2nd set gave to my grandson so he did not have to barrow mine

I've been using these in my shop for a few weeks now and so far they've worked out great. I wouldn't say they are up to the quality of Starrett or snap-on punches, but they seem to be well made. I'm glad to see that each of these is machined from one solid piece of stock. I've had a set where the punch part and the handle were two pieces pressed together and they bent and broke quickly. Even after a good bit of whacking on the 1/16" pin punch I don't see any deformation. If you are need pin punches these seem to be a good value. Remember, if you're pushing out (or in) roll pins don't use a drift or drive pin punch. The tip on these works great for setting and punching in roll pins.

I purchased this set because of a reduced price sold as like new and they were, but 1 problem the 1/16” punch was missing . My statement about the Quality of this set is based upon the experience using the first set that I purchased in 2012 and still have them they are like new even after a lot of use. The roll pin punch end is properly hardened and the body is well knurled for a good grip. I bought the second set for another work bench
