Did you know
If you are wondering about the meaning of the brand name, here is a product that was invented out of necessity as a way to avoid the oops... I accidentally shut the light on Shabbos. With its quick release magnets it can completely cover a wall switch in seconds and be removed just as fast. As with most good inventions it has now found its place into the general marketplace as a way for anyone to prevent their wall switch from being switched on and off. Among some of the reasons you might want to cover a light switch might be because it keeps getting bumped accidentally, or you want to discourage someone like kids from playing with the switch or maybe the most common these days, you own a smart device or anything that forgets its memory when you turn the power off, then this gadget is a necessity. I would have thought that there would be hundreds of companies trying to get in on this lucrative market but actually there are very few choices, most them seem to be for traditional toggle light switches. The two major choices for the modern flat paddle switches are either this one that sticks magnetically to the switch plate cover or another available style (that is double the price) that fastens semi-permanently. I wanted occasional access to the switch so I chose this one. Knowing that my unique wall switches don’t have any metal for the magnet to stick to I knew upfront I would have to make a slight modification. Not a fault of this product but due to the unique design of my wall switches I had to improvise by cutting two very small tabs from a roll of adhesive magnetic tape and creating landing pads for the cover to stick to. It works perfectly. This is nice solution to a common need and I’m glad to see it available. Coming from a small family company I had hopes they would be making it right in Brooklyn but it’s actually made in China. I know there are extra costs involved in marketing online and I hope that explains why an item I can pick up in NYC for under three bucks costs almost five here. That makes it a little pricey but specially items usually are and I only needed one so I ordered it anyway. The first impression isn’t that good, the hanger card is dirty and greasy and looks like it was dragged through the streets. But it does what it is supposed to and that’s the bottom line for me.

What a great idea
Sometimes the simplest solution is the best one. This product is one of those solutions. It is a bit pricey if you buy just one, buying in bulk makes more sense. I'm doing the Alexa smart home thing that also integrates my already fully automated X10 home system. So covering the switches you don't want to be touched by other humans that don't understand your system or for when you've had a drink or two and forget then these little covers are for you. You must make sure you smart switches and decora switches are set at the right depth in relation to the wall switch cover. If they stick out too far or one side sits deeper than the other [a common problem] then these covers will not sit evenly. If all your switches have been installed with care then these things will grab the wall plate screws and hold firmly. They are also very easily removed with a small tug but they don't just fall off when touched because the magnetic effect is strong but not overly strong. They install in about a half-second and look clean and modern not plasticky and cheap, I love these things, I'm buying more.

Magnetic switch cover works as advertised
Works perfectly. Came across this product when I was looking for a solution to cover indoor switches for outdoor garage/porch lights that I need to keep powered on all the time since I installed automatic dusk til dawn LED sensor light bulbs. The magnets are plenty strong to hold the cover in place over the switch and it fits nicely on the cover plate. It's just a cheap plastic piece but it does the job and looks fine. This will prevent people and guests in my home from inadvertently turning off the switch. I put one in the kitchen on the garbage disposal switch to keep us from mistakenly hitting it instead of the light switch right next to it - 2 years in the house and we still forget what switch is for what. All 6 of the covers I received have a dimple in the same spot on the edge near the middle that appears to be a cosmetic imperfection from the manufacturer process - it doesn't affect the product's performance and is only slightly noticeable from up close. I point it out as I hadn't seen any other reviews mention it so maybe was just mine. Happy customer.

A home automator's dream product!
So I've been automating our home over time, and one of the compromises I've made is that in some circumstances I prefer the ease of using smart bulbs instead of the hassle of replacing/rewiring wall switches. This works great EXCEPT I have a house full of people who don't really track the details of what's been done, and have a tendency to flip off light switches when they leave an area, rendering the bulb automation useless. I finally broke down and said to myself, self, either figure out a way to prevent the switch-offs, or just bite the bullet and move to an all-switch solution and abandon smart bulbs altogether. I figured my search for a solution would be difficult, and I envisioned the most likely outcome being me deciding to 3D print some kind of covers because I doubted I'd find anything that fit my requirements. Boy, was I wrong. These things are fantastic. First of all, they're reasonably priced. Second, they attach magnetically to the cover place screws, meaning easy-on/easy-off, so if/when we actually need to use a switch it's a trivial matter to pop this cover off, use the switch, and pop it back on. If I had one suggested improvement it's that I'd prefer stronger magnets, but so far they've stayed in place during daily use, although I can see some inadvertent dislocations happening in the future. But, given how inexpensive they are I'm not dinging the review stars for this, just constructive feedback to the seller/manufacturer.

Works Well to Cover Switch Smart Bulbs or 3-Way PIR Application
I use these covers to cover the second switch of a 3-way setup when I installed a Lutron occupancy sensor switch on the other end of the circuit. I could get away with this since it was a utility room or a short hallway that both ends and/or sides could be seen by the occupancy sensor. I use this covers to disable the other switch in the 3-way circuit from during off the occupancy sensor. The magnetic in the covers work well. It also works well if you have smart bulbs and you need to keep someone from turning them off at the wall which then keeps you from remotely controlling them. I only deducted a star for the old looking styling for something that is suppose to cover a Decor wall switch. The ends should be squared off and not fluted.

Great for covering motion-activated switches
We are not Jewish, we didn't buy this to cover a light switch that we cannot touch for religious reasons. We bought this to cover our Lutron motion-activated kitchen light switch which we found would sometimes detect motion when we didn't want it to. Don't get me wrong, the Lutron switch is fabulous, we no longer have to flip on/off the kitchen lights every time we enter/leave the room. But there are times you don't want the motion sensor to trigger. This cover affixes to the light switch magnetically and perfectly covers the motion sensor for when we don't want it to "see" movement. 5 stars.

Alexa likes these covers
We have some Philips Vue bulbs and a bridge that we use with the Amazon Echo. It's convenient and fun to tell Alexa to turn on and off the kitchen lights or tell her to dim them when we're watching a movie. But she can only interact with the bulbs when the light switch is on. If someone forgets and turns it off, rather than asking Alexa to do it, she can no longer control it. That was happening a lot, just out of habit. Whenever a family member told me that Alexa wasn't turning on the light, it turned out that someone had turned off the switch the last time, so she could no longer "see" it. This magnetic switch and outlet cover is the perfect solution. Nothing to install, just place the cover over the top of the switch and tiny magnets at the top and bottom stick to the screws and hold it in place. It looks nice, is easily removeable and solves our problem. We're happy and Alexa's happy. (I just asked her if she was happy and she replied that she's happy when she's helping me. Isn't that sweet?)

They work great on those flat modern switches. Easy to put on, easy to take off, and they snap together for storage.

Works and looks great (for a price)
Quite pricey but the only thing like it I could find online; if you're comfortable shelling out the cash for it, it looks a lot better than a piece of tape over the rocker switch! Fits perfectly, very strong magnets, and good colour match. No more accidentally turning off the outlet my router is connected to.

Does the job
These do exactly what they are supposed to. The magnets are stronger than I thought they would be for their size, which is a good thing. Despite that, I wouldn’t use these for child-proofing power outlets, as they aren’t THAT strong that a child couldn’t remove them. But they work great for wall switches to prevent a switch from accidentally being flipped. In my case, I use some smart lighting or plugs, so in use these to cover the switches that need to be always on.

Very strong magnet
I was surprised at how strong the magnet was and how well it holds onto the light switch. I liked it so much, I bought three more.
