My second Cuisinart, and still lovable
While it does not seem right to say you "love" an appliance the way you could love a person or a dog, I like this as much as it is decently possible to like an appliance. I liked my previous Cuisinart toaster oven in the same way, and it worked for many years until I had Houseguests, who somehow killed it. So I had to get another toaster oven and am very relieved to say that unlike so many things in life, the quality has NOT gone down and the price has NOT gone up. What I really like: (a) it works - the bake setting bakes, the broil setting broils, temperatures are accurate, and it getst to full heat REALLY fast. The Broil is hot enough to brown the fat on the top of a roast just like a big oven. I've broiled spare ribs and they get a nice crust. It says in the directions that if you turn on the Convection function, things will cook faster and you might want to turn down the heat setting - and they are absolutely right. (b) it is solidly built but not too heavy to easily clean under and around (c) it fits all the pots and pans I use, including all my Corningware (all except the giant buffet size, of course); easily enough room to make enough chicken or chops for 4 people (d) the non-stick surface of the drip shield and included baking pan is really nonstick and spills really do wipe right off (this is actually a big improvement since my first Cuisinart) (e) the outside size is really compact, amazing considering the inside capacity (f) the door fits snugly and the unit doesn't give off too much heat from the outside considering how hot it is inside; obviously you don't set anything on TOP of it while you're cooking but it's not like you're fearful for your cabinets. I'm not a professional reviewer and I didn't get my oven for free, I'm just writing this because it is so wonderful and rare to find a quality, cost-effective appliance these days, and I want to say thank you to Cuisinart.

As good as a toaster oven can get!
I've had the oven now for a couple of weeks and have tried all the functions at least once. This is a replacement for another Cuisinart toaster oven with similar features that was about ten years old. Because I'm a widower and live by myself I use the oven about every day from toasting to roasting and occasionally for broiling. The previous oven had a digital readout with push button selections and was easy to use. The only problem I encountered was reading the digital readout as it wasn't back lit. It was easy to maintain usually requiring only a wipe down inside with a damp cloth or a cleaning spray. The glass door was the only disappointment. After a few uses it seemed to start clouding up and caught every spatter. I used just about every cleaner I had and still it always looked dingy. The only thing that made a dent against the staining was a Mr. Clean magic sponge. The oven began losing the capability of higher temperatures and toast was being only browned on one side. So I began researching and got down to this Cuisinart TOB-135. I know Amazon offered pretty good pricing but checking around I discovered not the lowest. My first couple of visits to Amazon showed a price about $30.00 hire. I found a couple of other sites that offered it for the Amazon price with free shipping and the Cuisinart on line store offered it for the same $159.95 Amazon price and free shipping as well. I like Amazon so I thought I would contact them to see if they would price match. Forgetting the exact model number I again searched Amazon but this time typing the model number on the search bar and the price came up with the same price the other dealers were charging. Go figure right? I ordered it from Amazon. Funny thing is while going through the typical buyers remorse I looke it up again and darn if the higher price didn't pop up again. Oh well I can't explain it but it seems Amazon ha a couple of postings for the same oven. Check the pricing carefully. The oven in my opinion is a better design than the original. My original unit only came in white and this is a stainless steel look. ( Maybe some stainless but I won't guarantee it ) It's a very attractive addition to my counter top and fits perfectly under my cabinets designed for the wheel chair bound. Make sure you measure the spot you plan to use this. The oven is just as easy to use as the original. There are still some buttons for selecting methods but everything else is done with a dial and shows up on a backlit screen. That's a big improvement for us older folks. Inside is a rack that has limited positions and honestly I can't understand why you would move it except to pull it out to clean. The interior appears to be coated and wiped clean with standard dish detergent and hot water. There is from what I see a crumb tray pulled from the front for easier cleaning. A baking tray and wire rack come with the unit. The instruction manual is minimal to say the least. Oh it covered everything and had a few recipes but still very minimal. The cord is kind of short so make sure you place it close to a 3 prong outlet. I've been told to never use an extension cord for anything that produces a lot of heat so you may want to research that. The exterior is made to look like a modern day chefs oven. Very modern but fits in fine , well with my oak cabinets anyway, with any kitchen decor. If you have stainless steel appliances the oven would be a perfect match. I found the units weight ray to handle even for a wheel chair bound individual. Weight and dimensions are posted in the description posted on Amazon. This particular oven is listed in the best Toaster ovens for 2016 on YouTube. As stated I've used every function there is on this oven. Everything worked as expected and well. I love that you don't have to wait long for the oven to preheat. There is also the beep that lets you know when it has reached desired temperature. There is a timer with auto off but I still rely on a digital thermometer to check for doneness. This is especially true for the convection oven. I have found that I'm not an expert using convection so I have to keep a very close eye on anything cooking using this method. Toast come out great after you figure out the browning types. Bagels using the bagel setting come out crisp on the outside and chewy on the inside. The only problem I see is it states it can hold up to six slices of bread. The best I've been able to do is four standard slices. Still unless you have a large family four slices is standard. So far I've baked a cake, sheet type, a pork roast loin, chicken legs and breasts, some refrigerator cookies, French bread pizza, loads of frozen French fries and even baked eggs. The broiler has done a beautiful job on a coupe of T- bone steaks and on pork chops. Don't forget! When you broil leave the door ajar a crack to prevent grease fires. The oven does get warm on the outsides so delicate hands and fingers may have to use caution. Seems the top of the oven does get hot. As stated earlier the oven interior and exterior cleans well. On the inside a soapy cloth and on the outside my old standby Windex. You do get a few recipe ideas with the instructions but not many. The Cuisinart home web page has many many more so look. I'm very satisfied with this new Cuisinart and from the way things look it should last another ten years. This review was written with no financial consideration. Full Amazon Retail was paid.

Cuisinart ROCKS
Toaster ovens in my experience are good for a year or two than elements need to be replaced, knobs fall off, etc. So when I found the toaster oven I purchased at Overstock lasted seven plus years as a reconditioned item, I knew when I needed a replacement I'd be buying another from Cuisinart. My older oven still works, but it definitely is showing age as the light-dark dial for toast is toast (just spins) and the door no longer closes successfully. So I started comparing Cuisinart models and also sites to purchase from (narrowing it down to Overstock and Amazon). This Cuisinart TOB-135 came out the winner as it was a trifle larger than some others and also offered the preprogramming functions, including a cooking timer. Amazon also offered the best deal - at least $15 less than Overstock and with my Prime free shipping, purchasing from here was a no brainer! My only concern was my housemates admitted lack of electronic capability, but the way this Cuisinart is designed even an admitted technophobe was baking, toasting, and broiling with the simplest instructions from me - and the Cuisinart too. That's right this little toaster ovens controls blink to tell you what to do next. It could not be easier to learn to use. Toast comes out shaded the way I want, the baking function and auto timer shut off - fabulous. It's roomy enough for a smallish (4lb) chicken or even a small boneless leg of lamb - which is great when you don't want to use a large oven or heat up the whole house. I haven't yet tried the convection function, but plan to when I do some baking. One thing...definitely read the instructions as there are some handy tips there, including where and when to place the oven rack for the most successful cooking. This is a really solid toaster and so well constructed. Love the removable crumb tray - along with the baking tray and broiler rack - all easy to clean surfaces as well. I'm hoping this one will last 7+years as well - It seems from previous reviewers comments it should. Kudos to Cuisinart for another indispensable kitchen item and to Amazon for fabulous service and prices!

Small footprint, well made, attractive, consistent, but w/minor issues
Soooo much better (and 3 times the price) than the Oster unit we bought at Costco a couple of years back. Once you get used to the button/dial electronic LCD settings you will love it. (the Oster had a mechanical timer that was impossible to adjust consistently on shorter times) The buttons have tiny print on them, but you memorize quickly the important ones, and the dial for adjusting the settings is a bit touchy.. but once set, you know exactly how many minutes your toast will be in for..or how long your cookies will bake... it does a triple ding when finished and shuts off automatically. This oven is very attractive, solid and well built. It has a small foot print that fits nicely under our cabinets and is actually fairly large inside. I like the variety of height adjustments possible by flipping the rack. The drip pan is not non-stick but I guess better than having teflon fumes embedded in everything we cook. When it heats up we sometimes get a single little bang/popping sound as what I guess is one of the metal panels expanding... concerned in the beginning but does not seem to be a big problem We like it and are very satisfied.

A quiet, efficient and attractive toaster oven
I thought I loved my previous convection oven until getting this one (after the previous one died prematurely - it was not a Cuisinart). This is my new favorite and here are all of its good points: 1. Other than the handy notification beeps (for preheat and countdown), it is completely silent. No fans, no clicks, no nothing, it's absolutely amazing. 2. It has a very user-friendly and intuitive design. If your vision isn't what it used to be, it can be challenging at first, but once you are familiar with all of the settings, it shouldn't be an issue. 3. It cooks very evenly, but like most convection ovens, beware, it can cook FAST. In particular, be careful with the toast settings. 4. It's small and compact, so it can fit just about anywhere, yet the oven space is a decent size (see specs). Also it doesn't radiate a large amount of heat, which is really nice. 5. The stainless steel look is very attractive. This gives it a sharp and high-quality feel. I hope it passes the test of time!

Highly recommend this fabulous toaster oven - it's perfect!
I carefully researched 'toaster ovens' because I've had a series of cheaper ones, mostly Black & Decker that simply weren't high quality over time, and I found myself replacing them every 18 months or so. I chose this product because of the name, the great reviews, and the look of the oven. I've had it two weeks now, have used it 2-4 times a day and absolutely love it! I've used the toast, bagel, broil, bake functions and have roasted potatoes and veggies with the baking function and find them all very easy to use, accurate and quiet. The oven cleans easily, heats quickly, toasts evenly (without drying out bread or bagels) and just does what it's supposed to do. I love that the drip pan simply pulls out from the front, and that its coating makes it very easy to clean. The unit is completely silent, except for the bell tone when the time is up. It's easy to program and operate and is everything I'd hoped for. I enthusiastically recommend it! Appearance wise, it's a very attractive addition to my kitchen counter, I love the digital programming and backlight.

Excellent performance and value
I spent a lot of time looking for a toaster oven to replace an aging Panasonic (which still works after many years of use; it just is rather beat up looking). I narrowed it down to this and the Breville. I went for this mainly for the longer warranty – three years versus one year for the Breville – plus the fact that I have had excellent experiences with other Cuisinart appliances. So far this has been a champ. The controls are easy to use, and I especially like that the appropriate option buttons light up when a specific function is selected on the main menu. For example, the darkness control button lights up when “toast” is selected, making it easy to see which options need to be (or can be) set. Pre-heat time has been speedy – usually no more than a couple of minutes. I like that the counter does not start to count down until the pre-heat temp has been reached, so you don’t need to factor in pre-heat time in the overall time. The convection option works wonderfully, especially when reheating items such as pizza. It also is a big help when cooking items such as fries – it cuts down on the cook time, helps ensure even heating, and keeps items crispy. The fan is very quiet – I can hardly hear it when it is running. The top and sides get hot, as you would expect, but not searing hot. I’ve never had a problem with the handle getting hot since the grab bar is offset from the front. Still, wearing a hot mitt is never a bad idea. The only thing it lacks that I would like to have had is an interior light. All in all, I’m very pleased with it. I’ll update the review should reliability issues crop up.

AWESOME Toaster over!
I read the reviews of others. This is an awesome oven! It cooks perfectly and even. Easy to clean and not complicated to cook with. Some ovens can be over bearing with too many complicated cooking temps and dials. This one you just turn the dial, add the time or number ratio to cook with and done. EASY EASY EASY! Easy to clean as well. Tray comes out and wipes clean with water. You can fit a big pizza or many slices of bread, not just 2 and the rack is adjustable. It also comes with a tray to use if needed. Yes the blue light goes off and on but it appears it f you get close to it it or touch it, the blue light turns on and after use or walking away it does turn off. No big deal. I checked the dimensions and the size it perfect for under my counter, not too big, not too small. It gets a little hot to the touch but nothing you wouldnt expect. This is an awesome over, I love it. and would highly recommend it!

Great Toaster oven. Perfect size for someone who doesnt want to use the stove all the time, when only cooking for 1 or 2 people

Pleased with the size
Smaller than my previous oven that I had ; that failed on me. The previous unit was of another brand. Glad I tried this one; very silent and precise temperature wise.
