I’ve loved this book for over forty years!!
This book nails my feelings about aging. It is so funny and so true, whether you are thirty or you are going on eighty!!!

tiny treasure
As a woman over 40, I relate so hard to everything about this little book. It's a treasure I'll always be glad I've discovered. No terrible, horrible, no-good, bad days here. Just laughs, and wincing at hard truths, and affirming nods at the wisdoms here.

Damaged goods, but good service
This book came in time for my cousin turning 40. Excited to present her with this funny, yet cute, take on turning the big 4-0, I opened the packaging to find a damaged item. The cover page had been torn, and there was an inscription made to someone else from a "Loving Aunt Dolli". Needless to say, I could not gift this to my cousin and had to frantically call Barnes and Noble to ship a copy from another location. Although all ended okay in the end, I was disappointed. However, after explaining my situation to the seller, he generously offered me a full refund and an option to keep or discard the item. The customer service was more than adequate. Just wish I could have gotten what I originally paid for...

No kidding!
I first read this book when I was 40 (lo, these many years ago) and loved it then. I just recently bought copies for my daughter and niece as they enter their 4th decades. A wicked sense of humor mixed with a smidgen of age-anxiety. Right on the money and just a hoot--I still love it.

So-so
I wasn't thrilled with this book. It wasn't as appealing as Judith Viorst's other books. This book didn't have the humor or the subtleties of 'Suddenly Sixty'.

Problem resolved
I originally rated the seller a 2 star and wrote:""Book was supposed to be 'Brand new!'. It may have been so, but it was stained and yellowed as well. Looked like it was picked up at a flea market. I planned to give it to my daughter for her 40th. Threw it away instead."The seller immediately responded with a full credit and said I need not return the book (which I couldn't do anyhow). Excellent service when the product is not what you thought it would be. I'd use them again.

Add to your reading joy
I've collected Judith's aging books since her first, "It's hard to be hip over 30......" and have her most recent "Nearing 90" Wonderful, insightful, and often funny, but always true as we age. I often give as gifts, which was the purpose of this book.
