It was probably just something surface-level left over from the manufacturing process. The set itself is gorgeous in person; I love the faint blue and the way it softly glimmers in the light. I absolutely love this set. The only small downside involved its initial arrival - putting my nose close to each piece yielded a mild but strange and off-putting smell. The best way I can describe it is burnt Barbie hair with a hint of dog poo. I know, weird. However, a wash in the sink with soap and water completely eradicated it. It was probably just something surface-level left over from the manufacturing process. The set itself is gorgeous in person; I love the faint blue and the way it softly glimmers in the light. Nice, solid feel. Looks even better in person. Very pleased. If you are considering this and think you want this set looking at this listing, I can guarantee you will be set on it when it arrives.

These are so beautiful and a must have for any bathroom. They are made of thick, heavy glass and seem durable. I am obsessed with the texture and color of the glass. This is in the shared kids/guest bathroom so we will see how it holds up with 2 boys. Overall, seems like a good buy.
