Ruko F11PRO 2 Drone with 6K Camera for Adults, 4K/30fps Video, Ideal Gift

Throughout the many years, I have had many remote control helicopters and have never been satisfied with any of them. So it came up time again for another helicopter and I came across the Roku F11. I ordered it and after ordering it I was initially hesitant as I was not certain it was really going to be the helicopter that it is. I read so many different stories good and bad about so many different helicopters I figured the deal I got was a good deal and I decided to jump in headfirst and purchased it. My initial response was kind of dismay. I ordered the F11 pro. My initial response was well I just don’t get this. It folds up nice and small. It came with two batteries a little screwdriver and a couple sets of helicopter blades and the helicopter and the remote control. Initially I charge the batteries and was very happy the next day when I woke up and they both were green good to go. I had tried playing with the helicopter at home. But I was not ready to turn it on and take it out for a flight until I was certain I was in a place where I knew I would not ruin it on my first flight I had emailed the company back-and-forth a couple times about questions about the helicopter. The company was very forthcoming and responsive to my stupid questions. Of course the company never referred to my questions as being stupid. So here I am at a campground in north eastern Pennsylvania. They have a part of the campground where hot air balloons take off daily. So we thought that would be a great place to try out the helicopter. So our first day was a little bit of a learning curve. I have had other helicopters but none of them ever were successful and we’re not GPS or any quality whatsoever. I watch the video on how you should use your new drone for the first time. It listed the five things you should do before you’re confident enough to take your drone out. So we followed his steps and it was definitely worth practicing our landings hovering and basic Fleitmann ship skills. One of our first big things we were the happiest with was bringing up the helicopter to 75 feet and turning on the camera and spinning around in a circle. We had some great photographs that we took over the next couple days. We had one near miss as I accidentally turned off the GPS and the helicopter went flying into the woods. It’s survived and work just as well afterwards. We practice the next couple days taking off and landing taking photographs and adjusting the camera and moving around the camera mount and the angle. At this point we are very comfortable with the hovering going up and the items that really are needed in basic flight. At this point we had learned to bring a couple chairs with us and sit in the field with an obstructed view. On our second day my wife decided she could fly it as well. I was so happy that she got to try it and enjoyed flying it. It kind of made it even more fun for me watching her fly at as opposed to me concentrating on just flying. Another couple days went by and we learned more and more skills. We purchased one of the instant helicopter pads and it worked wonderful. My wife was able to take off at a pretty high speed and come down and land pretty close to the helicopter pad. After our first day of flight we brought on the batteries and plug them in to charge. But unfortunately we did not bring our charging cables with us. So we went home and got our tables and were able to charge the batteries for the next day. We really had a lot more fun on the next day and each day forward. So I truly think it is a great helicopter and has a lot of high-end benefits. I was originally surprised by the compressed Styrofoam carrying case. But I have learned to like that as well. It holds all of the items perfectly. They came with the two batteries and now we have two cables we will keep in the case along with a charger. On my complaint list it would have to be the directions were printed on a microscopic font. But I am older than your average teenager who can read better. So we took photographs of the directions and I was able to see them with my iPad Pro. It was also easier to see him when they are inverted in color. We’ve attached some of the photographs. The videos came out in great quality and the photographs came out and great quality. Taking photographs and sharing them was quite easy. The consul display was easy to follow and once we figure that out we were doing pretty good. We need to complete lesson number three to become more proficient at flying takeoff and landing. All in all we give it thumbs up. Very easy to learn. I can’t wait to explore some more of the Pennsylvania woods. It’ll take some time before I reach the comfort level where I feel comfortable flying around in my neighborhood. So thumbs up. This is my first drone and jumped in head first. Long story short as I can...pairing with the GPS can be DIFFICULT, but once learned, it's easy. You NEED to register it with the FAA and take a FREE safety test online. Using google search type registering your drone with the FAA and the rest is not that hard to follow. You do need to pay a $5 fee for three years registration. You also MUST dl the air aware app along with the Ruko Pro app. Reason for the air aware app, is that when you are ready to fly your drone, opening the app, will lyk if the area that you're in has been cleared by the FAA in REAL time. I also recommend that you order FREE stickers (no cc or ANY info like that) to put your registration number on your drone (through pilotinstitute), which is REQUIRED by the FAA. I am waiting for mine and used a label maker in the meantime to get this accomplished. After all of this, pairing and setup was the next step. Turn the drone on, then the controller. move the L stick up and then then down and 2 tones, along with a white light on your controller, will lyk it's paired. Immed AFTER this step, is where I got confused and it took me a while to figure this out. You then need to pick up the drone and rotate it litterally in a circle 2 times horizontally (till the back lights become solid, then place it down), then pick it back up again, with the camera facing the ground (vertically) and again rotate it 2x in a cirlce until the front lights turn solid, then place it back on a flat surface again. At that point, you MUST connect it through your phones wifi. Go to your phones wifi list, find ruko in there and connect it. Once you do that, open the app. It will NOT finish the GPS pairing UNTIL you open the app and click on controls towards the upper right corner of the app. You will then see the view from the drone camera itself and you then know that you're gtg!! After that, move BOTH thumb sticks at the SAME time towards one another (the left goes bottom R, 5 o'clock position and the R stick goes bottom L 7 o'clock position) which starts up the props and your FINALLY ready for flight. My personal opinion for the drone itself is FANTASTIC!! First time flyer I thought I could easily use it in my SMALL back yard in my residential neighborhood. Big miscaluation on my part. Learn from my error and go to a empty parking lot or field UNTIL you get the hang of it. I CRASHED my drone 3 times in a matter of 15 min and almost hit numerous trees and power lines!! I thought for sure that my drone was toast!! Especially AFTER I HIT my own lamp post in my back yard. While there are a few nicks and dings (not too bad), to my surprise, it STARTED RIGHT BACK UP EVERY TIME AND CONTINUES TO WORK PERFECTLY!!! I was SHOCKED to say the least!! What a STURDY/WELL MADE piece of equiptment!!! My complimence to Ruko for making such a well built drone with SOLID electronics and pieces. After realising that I should not press my luck any further, I headed out to a baseball field and learned how to operate it properly. It took about and hour or so, but I got so competent with it, that I can NOW fly it in my small back yard with ZERO issues. I even know how to take pics and adjust the camera in flight. It has an auto follow feaure and auto land, which is why going through the difficultuy to pair it with the GPS is SSSOOO important. I crashed in my yard those times because I got frustrated, not being able to figure out the GPS pairing and flew it at that time, bypassibg this important step. Other than that, the camera is excellent, the drone itself is obv solid, and it's feaures are plentiful. This also includes being remote ID compliant with the FAA, by having a built in transmitter that constantly broadcasts your drones ID, speed, heading and so on. It comes wtih TWO batteries that provide 30 mins flight time each and are recharged via USB-C and the remote controller is charged the same way. My advice, is to buy the extra landing gear with the extra caps in the package and buy extra props as well. I also recommend buying an extra RC controller that you can find on Ebay (new) for half the cost, especially since it is sold out from Ruko. I am so impressed by this drone, I am going to buy the same exact one to have as a backup. It's nice to see a company (esp from China) put out a solid product of this QUALITY. Worth EVERY penny!!

This is my first drone. I flew RC planes 30 years ago but have been intimidated by the price of most of the higher quality drones. This unit could easily sell for much more and I would not complain for it is an absolute pleasure to fly and great for beginners, intermediates, and I think advanced pilots would enjoy this drone as well. I was very nervous at first but this unit is sup[er-stable, intuitive, and I was flying it very well with just a little practice. It is, frankly, amazing to get so much accurate well-made high tech machinery for such a reasonable price. The app is glitch free on my IPhone 6 and was a breeze to download, install, and connect to the drone. After a few adjustments to my phone's settings I was good to go. The automatic return home is amazing- it literally landed itself within two inches of where I took off from. While today's kids might not be too impressed I'm 56 years old and I am VERY impressed. I will be buying one for my oldest grandson very soon and all of my friends have or plan on buying one. I live in the country and it is wonderful to take opff from my front lawn, taker it up a couple hundred feet, and explore the surrounding terrain. I flew it over to my neighbor's place while he was getting his heavy equipment loaded for work and flew around him keeping a safe distance. He went into the house and came out with his shootgun to shoot it until I hollered and wavedand quickly auto-returned home. We had a lot of laughs about. I very much enjoy my purchase and I am SO glad I bought this item rather than many others. The only thing I haven't figured out yet is to view live video while in flight. It will be even more exciting once I have a live drones eye view- it will surely bethe closest I will ever come to flying a copter in real life but that's okay by me- this drone is SO much fun and I'm confident that it won't be long and I'll figure out how to get the live video working. It's not the fault of the drone-it's the fault of my inexperience with this sort of high tech gadget . This drone is well made, packed with features, and is easier than I ever imagined. It is so nice to buy so much quality at such a reasonable price. Thanks Ruko- well done!

I'm pretty new to drones, I been practicing with my friends drone before i got this one for myself, both his and this one have similar features in the app, but i will say this one is allot more solid than his, his felt like a thin peace of plastic and this one is rock solid, I only wrecked it twice one by my own fault and the other time was because the battery got low when i was taking it down a trail and it tried to auto return home, it almost hit me and then proceeded to fly into a tree, but other than a few scuff marks the drone was completely fine. The photos it takes are of decent quality, i still get better photos from my 48MP phone camera which i was a little disappointed with cause that is the main reason i wanted a drone, The videos it takes are really good i love the wide angle but again i got it for taking photos not videos but i am still happy with it. I also like that i can change the angle of the camera in flight, the previous drone i flown you would have to land it and change it manual Flying the drone is a great experience, quick to learn how to fly, i like that you can change the gimble on it if your not flying with GPS assistance, I took it clear up to 110m (360ft) and was blown away how well it stabilizes in the wind and was still able to get some great photos and videos. The range on it is great also i had it over 200ft away and i know it can go further that's just what i was comfortable with at the time. Pros: 1. Easy to learn, 2. Great app features 3. Battery life is good, realistically you get 20 minutes before low battery kicks in and it will return home. I belive if you turn off gps it won't do this and you could get another 10 minutes out of it. 4. Sturdy and solid! Cons. 1. The only real con for me is the auto return home on low battery because it did cause a crash for me, Would love to have an option to turn that off or when it does get to low battery if the app would ask me if i would like it to return home. 2. There is no option on whether to save to the SD card or your phone, and it seems to pick and choose what photos to save on your phone or the SD card, I had a couple on the SD card and some on my Phone and some on both, All videos seemed to save to both my phone and SD card. Things To know. When i first powered on the drone and connected it to the controller, i hear a buzzing noise which scared me a little thing i got a bad drone, Turns out the camera does a rotation when it powers on and if it obstructed it will make a buzzing noise, you can fix this by holding the drone up a little when connecting the controller or by just giving the camera a light jiggle. I had trouble getting it to connect to the app, I solved it by turning off mobile data and it connects to the app right away, you then can turn your mobile data back on, I managed to get some extra range out of the WiFi it by taking off my phone case cover before it looses signal with the app, around at a height of 100m is when i lost connection to the app, but you can still pilot it with the controller and take photos or videos, you just won't have a stream to your phone of what your looking at.

There's a lot to love with this drone, and very little not to love. If you've never bought a drone before and you're thinking about getting this one: just do it! You wont regret it. This thing is super easy to fly, super fun to fly, packed with features, and has an amazing camera! Having 30 minutes of flight time on each battery is plenty to get good videos/pictures, and swapping them out is trivially easy. I will say, however, that recording video directly to my Galaxy S10 will only give me videos in 720p. This really isn't too big of a deal though, because it will record in 2K to an SD Card. Speaking of the SD Card, I couldn't seem to actually find anywhere in the manual that talked about where to put an SD Card into the Drone! So, I've uploaded a picture with this review to show you where it should be. Wasn't too hard to figure out, but it definitely had me confused for a second. === Flight Quality === I bought this drone for myself for Christmas, and thus have only flown for a little bit during the winter here in Washington State. This means cold temperatures, bits of rain/snow, and pretty modest winds. I have had no trouble with this thing fighting the wind at all. There was one occasion where I attempted to fly it before allowing to get a good GPS signal, which caused it to drift a bit during takeoff, however that was my mistake for being in such a rush, and it quickly figured out where it was and stabilized. Overall, I am extremely impressed with how accurate the GPS is on this drone, especially since I am mostly flying it out in the sticks where GPS seems to usually have problems. === Camera Quality === The camera is absolutely nothing to laugh at. Having such a wide FOV allows you to get some pretty seriosuly good looking landscape shots, and recording videos on 2K is beautiful. However, I definitely recommend using video editing software to remove the fish eye effect from the wide FOV, and to fix some of the shakiness that can occur while the drone is flying. I've also found that videos will want to automatically color correct, which can be a small annoyance. === Features === I think I use the waypoint feature every single time I fly this drone. It is absolutely phenomenal, and lends itself to taking beautiful panning shots. I haven't used the other features quite as much, but when I have. I've found them very straightforward, and they worked very well. Additionally, I once tried to film a sunrise by positing the drone above my backyard pointed east, then leaving the controller and walking inside. It filmed for about ten minutes, then suddenly lost signal. I was pretty paranoid about this the whole time, so I was able to find my drone and get reconnected right away. However, when I did, i noticed that it simple flew back over my house to where I had launched it, then begun landing itself. If I had done nothing, I could have simply walked outside and found my drone perfectly safe sitting where I launched it. This is a huge peace of mind feature for me, and I was really impressed with how well it worked. Kudos to SJRC for that one.

Wow. About five flights in and extremely impressed with the engineering, design, but above all the quality. Prior experience was about two weeks with a $100 drone but this device is about 5,000% better and more able than that one. I don't think you can beat the fun factor + features of this device at this price point. You can pay more but I don't think that you get more in the exchange. So if you want a starter or entry-level quad device - this is IT. Lots of great features. In order of importance: (1) Flight time is incredible - nearly an hour in the box (among 2x batteries) (2) Compared to other drones at this price point this guy is STURDY (high quality) (3) FUN to fly (4) Tons of additional features from GPS flight / recovery / 5 gHz connection (5) USB (micro) rechargeable batteries + controller (I have a ton of these cables lying around) (6) Folds into a protective foam carrying case the size of a car battery for easy portability I see a lot of value in the GPS but I actually found it to be not what I was looking for - for backyard flying (close to the house / obstacles) I prefer the "attitude" mode which just means manual / user is in full control. Out of a 100, I give this baby a 98 - especially, again, at this price point - you're not going to do any better. I just have two things to mention that could use some improvement - both possible with updated firmware: (1) Device tends to lose altitude during turns - it is very minor, but if the device pivots / yaws especially in a mid- to high-speed turn, it tends to drop altitude slightly during the maneuever. This is not something that cannot be corrected - I've found myself just giving it a little "boost" with the left joystick while turning - but during turns in tighter space it can be jarring. I think it is because the device is redirecting power to the turn and in doing so it doesn't have as much available, at the inflection point, to keep the device level - it is easily corrected for but I thought that I'd mention it (2) I'm still getting used to landing - in fact my entire last flight was dedicated to practicing landing. So what happens is if there's any movement due to right joystick corrections meant to keep the device steady in 2D (wind primarily) at all the device tends to not want to land properly, in that it somehow senses the imminent proximity of the ground / surface and "jumps" up while you're trying to get the skids to touch down - I have been tinkering with the one-touch button landing feature and to be honest I have not yet mastered it - compared to other drones it feels finicky when trying to touch down. The workaround could be just using the cut-off which requires about a three-second hold while hovering VERY near the ground but I did this at too high altitude at one point and it dropped a little too suddenly for my taste, so I'm back to the drawing board more or less. My solution while I get used to it is to simply land in grass which is a lot more forgiving than harder surfaces - but I think even on brick / asphault this is something that I'll be able to figure out, in time. Like I said - 98 out of 100 on this beast. You're not going to find a better one unless you're shelling out 3-10x the price. Job well done by the engineering team. CFO

The Ruko F11 Pro Drone is, to say the least, impressive. The F11 boasts a host of features, including a compact, foldable design, a sturdy, muscular body that feels comfortable and "rich" in one's hands, an integrated GPS module, 3 advanced flight modes, including Follow Me and Orbit, a Return to Home function, and an adjustable Ultra-High Definition (UHD) 4K camera that compels attention. The drone is easy to operate and maneuver, even for the neophyte pilot. Takeoff and landing are a breeze and the F11 Pro even has the ability to hover independently, allowing the pilot to either contemplate his next move, familiarize himself with the controls, or simply admire the power and beauty of the craft. The drone ships with two 2500mAh batteries, allowing a more-than-adequate 60 minutes combined flight time. Additionally, the pilot is also kept abreast of the battery status of both the drone and the transmitter via the downloadable SJ GPS PRO app. The app also provides all the in-flight details of the drone in addition to a quick start guide, troubleshooting notes, GPS, photo, video, and other controls. Videos are recorded in sharp, crisp, and clear 2.9K while photographs are captured at a vivid 4K. The GPS module and the transmitter both provide controls that may be used to adjust the camera remotely. The 120-degree field of view, especially when coupled with the in-built Orbit Mode, can be combined to produce compelling video footage. The Ruko F11 Pro can also record live video with its 5GHz First-person View (FPV) capabilities at up to 500M (1640 ft.). For the cinematographer on a budget, or for those just getting into drone videography, the sub-$300 price tag simply cannot be beaten. NOTE: To truly appreciate some of these features, the SJ GPS PRO app is essential. Consumers should also keep in mind that a dual-band (2.4-5G) smartphone is required. That being said, neither the app nor GPS is necessary for flight, photo, or video recording. GPS, for example, is needed in case the drone gets out of the pilot's line-of-sight. The pilot can use the built-in Return to Home feature to locate and return the craft to its takeoff origin. That being said, another excellent feature is its Headless Mode which orients the drone to the pilot's location thus avoiding it getting lost. GPS is also needed for WayPoint mapping. Moreover, for legal operation in the USA, the Ruko F11 drone needs to be registered with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) due to its weight of 520G (18.3 oz.). In closing, the Ruko F11 Pro Drone is great for the beginner, expert, or professional. It is durable with a muscular, albeit non-bulky body of 17.5 in. x 15.9 in. x 3.2 in. with an open frame. And a 7 in. x 4 in. x 3.2 in. folded frame. It is quick, has a 2.4 GHz frequency transmitter with a maximum range of 1219M (3999 ft.), and can climb to heights of 120 m (393 ft.). The whisper-quiet brushless motors are powerful and maintain a cool temperature even after extended flight duration. The drone is delivered in a handsome carrying case, comes with extra blades, screws, and a small hex wrench for blade replacement, should that time come. Are there any drawbacks? The only two disbenefits that I can proffer at the time of this writing are the lack of a gimbal stabilizer and the inevitable barrel distortion due to the camera's ultra-wide-angle lens. While there is no getting around the issue with the lack of gimbal stabilizer—necessary to maintain a level in-flight camera—the barrel effect is a small expense; one that can easily be corrected in post-production with the image editing software of one's choice. If you are considering getting into drone piloting, aerial photography, or videography, the Ruko F11 Pro Drone is a great starting point. It provides the perfect combination of cost-effectiveness, ease-of-use, and quality that more than warrants the decision to purchase.

Rather than repeat the many very thorough five star reviews, I will just say I agree with them. I had wanted a recreational-use drone for years prior to 2020, but I waited as the quality and technology rapidly improved and prices went down. When the F11 Pro became available for under $300 in 2020 I took the plunge. As the reviews of the F11 said back then, it was (and still is) a great drone with some amazing features for the price. I had never owned or even flown someone else's drone at that point and in reading stories of lost and/or crashed drones over the years I was a little apprehensive at first. I had read so many stories of people spending hundreds of dollars for a drone, taking it out for a flight, it flies away and they never see it again. However, by 2020 drone technology had progressed by leaps and bounds. and the tech contained in the F11 including the Return To Home (RTH) feature makes it almost foolproof. After a quick reading of the instructions and watching a couple of demo videos I took mine out and started flying it right away with zero issues. The closest thing to a problem I've ever had was on one occasion it stopped responding to my commands and began hovering over a fenced-in field just at the far edge of my line of sight. Assuming there was something interfering with my signal, I moved as close as I could to the drone, which was the fence at the edge of the field about 100 yards from where it was hovering, and at that point It responded to my RTH command and did just what it was supposed to do - it flew back to where I had launched it and safely landed itself. I was reassured by that experience. Even though it temporarily lost my signal, it didn't fly away or crash, it executed the RTH function appropriately. In fact, I liked mine so much I bought another one for my son in 2020, and we have sometimes flown them together (the app auto separates the signals). Four year (Aug '24) update: I recently returned from a multi week cross country road trip to visit family. I took the F11 and flew it several times on the trip. The drone itself still performs as new, however the four year old original batteries were starting to get tight going in and out of the compartment (swelling) and not holding a charge nearly as long as they used to. In other words, typical issues with aging rechargeable batteries. I shopped around online and considered ordering one of the non Ruko replacements but ended up spending the few dollars more for the Ruko branded replacement and received it the next day. The new battery works well and the copter is back to full range. While shopping for the new battery here on Amazon I noticed some inexpensive accessories compatible with the F11, such as snap-on rotor blade guards and landing gear skids. It had always bothered me a little that the copter had to land directly on the ground, so I ordered the skids and rotor guards. For the little bit of money they cost it was worth taking a chance on them not fitting well, but both work well with the F11. They snap on and off easily and so far have no problem staying connected in flight, although of course they do have to be popped off prior to stowing the copter in its case. Another issue I encountered on this trip for the first time was the app not holding a connection to the copter at all, or losing only the camera feed. I did some online reading including reviews here on Amazon and discovered the auto connect feature in my phone's wifi menu was activated. I turned that off as is recommended in the comments, and poof, the connection problems went away.

I love this drone! I tried 2 of the holy stone models years ago, and they were so complicated to set up and they controlled horrible in any wind. The Ruko F11 Pro is amazing! Handels great! Even in the wind it’s able to maintain stability and speed! Takes me less than 30 seconds to set up and fly each use. It’s so cold outside so I keep running back to the car to warm up then right back at it! The 3rd speed setting is so Fast! Love how easy it is to control and how smooth the video recording is! Can’t stop using it! Overall, good buy! Best drone for the price other than the DJI’s. Buy this for your first drone, 100% Recommended. If you want top of the line camera, expect to pay much more. I’m happy with this quality for now. Don’t even care about not having a gyro. Love the movement for sport flying!

After receiving the Ruko F11 pro it took a little bit to get everything to work properly. You can’t be inside and get a gps signal so make sure you are in an open area before you try. After I got everything ready it was up very easily. Stable flight, power at the ready and easily controllable. The camera is clear but have yet to use it at a distance. Will add that later. Build quality is great. Drone is a little heavy and larger than I expected but that makes it more stable in the air. Will add video when I get into some larger areas but for the price the Ruko F11 Pro is a great intro drone and would recommend it.

I really enjoy flying this drone, it works good. Goes up pretty high and can still successfully control it, except it's super sensitive in any amount of wind and may disconnect and fly away on its own path. I highly suggest buying this and flying in good weather only. 4 stars. Also the company's customer service is amazing, they will help with whatever they can, and they work fast !

This drone is spectacular it the battery lasts for 2 hours which they send you 2 batterys so yoy could use thw drone for 4 hours. The 4k camera is 4k and there is no lag when using vr mode which is very fun. I really recomend this drone for kids because it has a tracker and a safe return button which means you can never lose it even if it falls somewhere far away. The material of the drone is perfect because it can survive high falls and have sone scratches but thats it and the blades are also high quality never breaks. Buy it if you can it will be the best purchase and for me this drone costs more than what it actually costs.

This is my first drone ,besides toy ones. I was able to learn to fly very quickly due to the auto hover feature. I was amazed at the accuracy of the controls. Camera and video were better than expected from this price range. Having a second battery really extended my flight times. I have been having a lot of fun with this drone and highly recommend for a starter drone.
