One year, someone bought me the same style calendar as a gift, but a different brand. The pages were very thin and when I wrote on it, the ink bled through to the next page. Not so with the Mom's Family Calendar by Sandra Boynton. The pages are thick and sturdy. Each square has enough room to write the day's event. I also like how the names of each person are to be written along the top of the calendar (the vertical columns), with the days along the left side of the calendar, so events are written in the horizontal rows. It's quick and easy to scan across a row to see what each person has going on that day.This year, I tried to go without the calendar, since my children are 14 and 18 now. I figured we could all keep our own schedules, with me keeping everyone's schedules on my google calendar on my phone. Nope! My husband begged me to get another Mom's Family Calendar. I think his exact words were, "Are you crazy? We are grandparents, and I can label the calendar with my husband's schedule; my schedule and I have a place for family and friends and one for "everything else", which I mark with even the day I water my multitude of plants to when I cleaned our many aquariums. I can keep track of everyone and everything at a glance. The spaces are large enough so that if there is more than one event scheduled; there is room to put that as well as one of the adorable stickers. My daughters were so jealous, that I had to buy one for each of them. This is the third year I have purchased one of these, and it looks like it is going to be a family tradition. Love the clever art work of Sandra. Love the pocket at the bottom where I can keep tickets for events and other things. I think this is 6th time that I purchased this calendar. My daughter is 7 and there was only one year that I didn't buy this one. That one year that I had different calendar (it was still "Mom's calendar") I regretted it so much. This is the best calendar for a Mom. The first column is already preprinted "Mom", 4 more blank columns. We are a family of 4, so I write "Dad" on the second column (his work shift is different every day, so I write his shift time) and put daughter's name on the 3rd, put son's name on the 4th and for the last column I put "Family". When we are doing something as a family, I would write the activity on that column. This calendar comes with so many stickers (probably a lot more than you ever need).
