I get this to help me clip out my ingrown toenail - to numb any pain at the site initially. I spray a good amount on my toe, let it dry for 1-2 minutes, then I go in and clip out the ingrown toenail. It really helps dull the pain for that process. My podiatrist does this for me except she has medical grade lidocaine spray that obviously works far better in numbing than this (and cannot be legally sold to non-healthcare providers), but this 4% lidocaine meets the minimum threshold for pain management in getting this done. 4% lidocaine is the legal maximum amount that can be sold to non-healthcare providers.

Overall this is a very effective option for quick, targeted pain relief, and I’d recommend it if you need something strong and fast‑acting. I’d buy it again.
