A Great Read
I just finished reading Collateral Damage: A Dreamland Thriller. I am still behind on my favorite author reading but catching up.The book is longer than some of the other ones you have written. I still am a big fan of short chapters or paragraph breaks for those people who have a few minutes to read but don't want to get lost when they pick up the book again. I used to travel a lot and had multiple short periods of time available to read.Great action, great story, lots of technology. The technology is not eclipsed by the human side hearing why Rubio is the way he is and that people still need human interaction and warmth with Ginella and Turk.I do read for detail and found only two minor discrepancies, too small to even mention.Keep up the good work.

Hard to read
To much useless stuff, I found myself skipping and skimming. The beginning engagement was interesting. Then skip to about the 75% mark to get it over with.I recall reading other Whiplash stories years ago that were very good. This one was disappointing.

skiiping pages out of boredom
I've enjoyed every D Brown book. Up till now. I find myself jumping ahead and skipping pages out of boredom because the description goes on and on and on without needing to. It is as if there just isn't enough of a story there to fill up a whole book so the 'details' are expanded to the point of being redundant. I hope this isn't a pattern and just a one time stumble because i used to really like his novels.

It was horrible. Collateral Damage is not much better
I have read almost all of Dale Browns work. Patriot Games I had to toss in the trash. It was horrible. Collateral Damage is not much better. The only good stuff was the air battles and there were only a couple. This one, like Patriot Games, is way too redundant and he goes on and on with descriptions and thought process about useless crap that I am thinking he reached the end of his career. His other books had for the most part much less redundancy and useless descriptions but now they seem like a waste on my money and time. Dale either quit or listen to your readers.

Great story
Believeable story envisioning the future weapons of war in the air tactically the inability of ground forces in future wars to effectively compete. Kept this old Seabee totally enthralled!

boring and then some
Like other reviewers, I've always liked Dale Brown. But, with the exception of the opening chapter (which is about all you get with the sample), its pretty boring. I bought it because of the sample...I guess someone has figured out how to make that work in their favor. I would recommend you try another of his works if you want to read Dale Brown,

Disappointed.
I was a big Dale Brown fan however, this book turned out to be a bit of a disappointment for me, too much unnecessary description, for example is it necessary to describe someones shoes? A lack of research has gone into certain aspects, for example, the Royal Airforce command structure, there are no colonels, majors etc in the RAF. The writer, from his US airforce experience should know that the ranks are Squadron Leader, Wing Commander, Group Captain etc. Also one of the characters first introduced as a lieutenant, a few pages later she is a Captain! I noticed several unnecessary errors in the dreamland series also, Might seem a little pedantic but if you're going to write a techno thriller based on world events, at least get the small details right.Other than that I found the flight/combat sequences good and the story line was fair.

More whiplash then dreamland
Dreamland series has always been a decent subsitude for the standard Dale Brown Novels. Whiplash series is a little slow, oh when I said in my pervious reviews that I Liked Dale Brown and Larry Bond, I forgot to mention, Tom Clancy, The Hunt for Red October, and what I felt was his best and a classic, RED STORM RISING. Great Book
I have read all Dale Browns books and was begining to think he had ran out of steam. With this book he has redeemed himself. We are back to the authour counjouring up amazing and exciting flight scenes at the same time as being current in the political landscape and ahead of the game in weapons technology.Great book Dale keep them comming.

Surpasses standard
Even better than usual excitement - good griping story, heroes and gadgets. Dale Brown is my gold standard for thriller writers with his aviation bias.
