Another great addition to the Left Behind series!
I think "Desecration" may be the best book yet. Tensions are boiling, virtually no place is safe, the mark is here, and the action is at an all time high; yet the "Judah-Ites" are stronger in their faith than ever before. A million believers have made it to their promised land at Petra where one miracle after another seems to occur and God will keep them fed and safe until Jesus' return at the "Glorious Appearing."I have never been a religious person, and with very little knowledge of the Bible I have many questions that have stemmed from the "Left Behind" series. Now I just need to find a place to find those answers! At the same time, even with many new questions, I know so much more now than I did before I started reading these books. Even with the religious tone I still believe that a person doesn't have to be religious to enjoy this series. It is full of action and exciting missions that sometimes go well and other times people are brutally tortured and killed. There is also a great sense of teamwork and brotherhood throughout.I think it's the way the stories make me feel that keep me going forward and make it difficult to put the book down. I like the sense of faith, love, brotherhood, compassion, and strength that the characters portray. I even like the feeling of disgust Carpathia gives me, because let's face it...what good is a story without the evil villain attempting to destroy all of the good in the world!"Desecration" was just as great as the 11 books I have read before it. (I started the series by reading the 3 prequels first so I could have a good sense of the characters of the "Tribulation Force" and where they came from.) I would suggest to anyone thinking about starting the "Left Behind" series that they read the prequels first. ("The Rising," "The Regime," and "The Rapture") I can't wait to dive right into "The Remnant" next! :)

The judgment seals are being read!!
Desecration, the 9th book in the 'Left Behind' saga is one of the better reads in this maxi-series.From the opening chapter until the cliffhanger it is more or less non-stop action. Well, that is to say there is much more action than some of the previous novels in this saga due to the fact the authors have only a few books left to cover some of the most explosive events of the 2nd half of the tribulation. For our main characters, picking sides has never been more important than right now. For Nicolae Carpathia, the Antichrist, has declared marshal law...and for those who do not brandish the mark of loyalty on either their hand or their forehead is put to death by guillotine. Worship me or perish he declares as he breaks his peace covenant with Israel and makes a mockery of the most holy of temples. Now believers of Christ and especially the foretold 144,000 make their way to safety in Petra with the Carpathia's forces in pursuit.I was also happy to see that the authors had progressed or matured as writers quite noticeably with this 9th effort. Though the camp dialogue still exists, it has improved and the atrocities and manipulations of the Antichrist are detailed. In addition when God allows the 1st of the seals to be opened and his judgment brought down upon the world, the descriptions of fleshly boils and oceans of blood are pretty dramatic and page turning. Even more so is Nicolae's response and handling of these global events, and now we see the world plunge further into chaos as even those with the mark of loyalty begin to question Carpathia's ways and their own decisions. There are some who have taken the mark of the beast, and only when it is too late do they start to come around. Woe to them. There are some introductions of a few new characters, but one death amongst the main characters will shock you.

Kept me on the edge of my seat!
This book has kept me wanting to shirk my responsibilities and return to it as soon as possible. Good versus evil has never been so well portrayed. I know we win but the way the story is written keeps you captivated, wondering how it all comes about, according to the Bible.

Love the series! Tired of the Christ Clone series comparisons!!
Tired of hearing comparisons to The Christ Clone Series! While I have not read that series yet will have to say the Left Behind Series is quite remarkable. It is suspenseful, funny, and quite breath taking in its depiction of the end times. Definitely recommend this to all. It has been a long read but has been well worth it. Some very memorable moments, sayings, and teachings in it. It is a series we as Christians all need to read to understand a little of what is to come for this world. And to those of you who can't help but compare the two series, I say this: They are written by separate authors, each author has a separate style of writing!! If you have gotten o Desecration means you have read 8 books before it, how can you read 8 books if you don't like them?

An Educational Read
I've read all of the Left Behind series before and gave them away. I bought the series again to read them again, and maybe keep them this time! The Book of Revelation is a little difficult to follow. Tim Lehaye's interpretation makes following the Book easy.

Excellent read!
As a non-religious person I knew very little about the Christian beliefs concerning the 'Rapture' and 'Christ's Second Coming'. I also felt a series based in religion would hold very little interest for me. How wrong I was!!! The books are fast paced, exciting and real page turners. The characters are believable and you find yourself immersed in their stories, wanting them to survive. I also learnt a huge amount and found myself considering what the Bible foretells, wondering if there actually is some truth to it. The 'Left Behind' series commanded my interest, fascinated me and changed my perspective on religion. I would recommend this series to believers and to those who may be sceptical (like I was) but who are willing to approach this with an open mind and a preparedness to be taught something as well as enjoying a fascinating read. Excellent series and extremely talented authors who know what they're talking about.

Fantastic Read
Loving this whole series. This book was really good as it really shows the evil of antichrist. I’ve not despised a character like this since Voldemort and Umbridge. Highly recommend the entire Left Behind series.

An interesting read....
I find Desecration exciting and stimulating as the rest in the series. As a Believer, I appreciate the fact that the authors remained true to the scriptures.Often we see Christian materials (books, drama and movies) that are supposedly based on biblical facts and yet, the author or director ends up distorting the accounts to suit their own interpretation of the story that you don't recognise it anymore. I am of the opinion that bible stories should be interpreted as they are without need for unnecessary infusion.Larry

lucifer exposed
Roaming around like a roaring lion, seeking who he may devour. He knows his time is short. Christians must be vigilant and remember that this war is not against flesh and blood but against principalities and powers, wickedness in high place. But we WIN

Amazing series but this book came in an unacceptable condition
Unacceptable condition. Was meant to be in ‘very good’ second hand condition, but had the top right of front cover removed.
