Alpine Corporation 10" Diameter Indoor/Outdoor Glass Mosaic Gazing Globe Yard...

Absolutely love these mosaic gazing balls and this one is so pretty with the pink purple and blue pallette. I have it in front of a white 2 foot raised bed and every time the sun hits it just right it reflects colorful spots onto the bed which adds whimsy to the yard and more color. The birds love perching on it while they hunt for grubs and wormies in the clover lawn. It's also pretty sturdy and heavy enough for the Santa Ana winds (and a yard guy with an overzealous blower, lol) and hasn't fallen over yet. Its because of the tiling around the glass. Ive had the $20-$30 plain globes before in their stands as low to the ground as possible that get knocked over within in a week and break immediately into dozens of glass schard pieces with just a small gust of breeze, a mistake I wont make again and investing in these more detailed ones. It survives being knocked over by the critters every week. So by comparison it being twice as much is more of a savings. This is my third one of this type from Alpine, and love them all and these have lasted through hurricane winds all year, so its a win win on price and quality. You do have to get the stand separate because they have many styles, but I get the cheapest one and its perfect because the globe stands out the best and they all fit most stands, which is great. If one breaks I have a stand for the next one I get.

This gazing globe is absolutely beautiful. I have it located in my garden in the front of the house and when the sun hits it there are colorful reflections on the exterior wall. This is the second one I have purchased and I will buy again.

I've had a lot of gazing balls in the past. Most of them solid or with a white background. Imagine my surprise when this amazing mosaic gazing ball arrived with a black background. At first I thought it strange... I placed it in a stand sat down and did some gazing. I then realized that the black enhanced the reflective quality of the tiles. No white to distract. This is a 10" ball of good weight. It is in a heavy stand, not easily tipped over.

Pretty globe...but when it arrived and I removed it from the box, it was covered with a light dusting of black stuff -- and before I realized that fact, my hands were black and it was also all over my sweater. I wiped it down and it seems to be OK, but getting black dust on my hands and clothes was very frustrating. Also, this globe does have some visible defects (it looks like it's already been outside for a year). I've owned other Alpine gazing globes and would say the quality of this one is subpar due to the visible defects and the mess involved with getting it unboxed.

Beautiful colors and quality

I am happy with my purchase and my gazing ball is very attractive.

This gazing ball is better than I had expected. When placed near a flat wall like a fence, the mirrors of the ball cast colour. I have had many compliments on this addition to our garden. I added small foam strips to the wrought iron holder I owned just to ensure it wouldn't fall. We had a series of serious rain falls with the significant wind the gazing ball remains in tact. ( We had used bent wire hangers as a lasso over the footings into the ground). It is beautiful!
