I think I've got it right, but it isn't like other blenders I've owned. Those I simply twist the glass jar into the base and connect it to the blender motor. This one has more flimsy parts that I don't really enjoy having to take apart and re-assemble every time …** A: Up against the glass base, the gray rubbery gasket will be placed. This keeps the liquid from oozing out the bottom. Then place the steel blades inside the glass jar, from the bottom, with the gray gasket in between the glass jar and the round base of the steel blades. Last comes the black plastic bottom, which screws on---it should screw on easily if placed right. Make sure it is tight.Then place the whole assembled jar onto the motor base and rotate the jar slightly, until it settles into the motor base. If done correctly, the blender will run smoothly when you push a button.Don't forget the lid! **Q: Can this be used as a whisk? I have only had it about a month. So far, I love it. Others have mentioned that the lid is not that secure - and this is true. It doesn't suction like others with a round lid, but it works for me and nothing has spilled out. The base of the jar has that plasic ring around it that spins when you put the blender on higher speeds and the plastic is a little flimsy, but again, it doesn't seem to matter. What the blender does is blend really well and fast. I love the ice crusher that creates chunk free smoothies (the old blender could never do this) and the Frappe setting which creates the exact texture you want from a smoothie.
