How To Achieve the 10 Step Korean Beauty Routine in 8 Steps or Less (List of Products in Order)
I recently began a quest for all the beauty products needed to achieve the youthful, dewy look ever popular in Korea in anticipation of my wedding day. (Yes, I'm an American who watches a lot of Kdramas and became supremely jealous of Kon Joon-He's character in "She Was Pretty.") I've had a fantastic experience with the new skin care regimen: huge reduction in blemishes, almost completely eliminated the pimples!!!--I just get one or two during my period--evened skin tone, and overall a cleaner, softer face. Since it's been so overwhelming to research every step on my own, I'm providing a list of all the winners so far, and in what order of the skin care/makeup routine to use them in. Hopefully this is helpful for anyone who wants to venture into the world of Korean skin care but isn't sure where to start. **Indicates the product in review.1. Cleanser - The Face Shop: Rice Water Bright**Apply this to dry, unwashed skin and gently rub in circles to fully cleanse your face. Works as a makeup remover, but I'd recommend a different product for eye makeup removal. Rinse the oil off with lukewarm water. This is the perfect, gentle cleanser for sensitive, mixed oily/dry skin, like mine. It has a very faint smell of rice water. Not surprising, considering that's what it is. A little goes a long way, so one pump is usually enough for my entire face. Be careful not to carry it sideways in a makeup kit if the pump gets loose. I made the mistake of doing that, and got all my other products coated in rice water cleanser. ;) Oh, and that little plastic thing on the pump pops right off. It took me forever to figure it out. I kept twisting and unscrewing and finally realised you just pull the little plastic piece right off and then snap it back on when you're done for the night. :P2. Toner/Refresher - Etude House 10-in-1 House Wonder Pore FreshenerTightens pores, and purifies skin. Apply to a cotton pad or cotton balls and then to face. Let dry.3. Moisturiser - Skin Food Peach Sake EmulsionPretty self-explanatory. Apply right after the toner sets in to feed your face with some moisture.4. Serum - Skin Food Peach Sake Pore SerumA slightly more concentrated moisturiser to apply after the first. Yes, Koreans have many steps (most of them moisturising ones) in their beauty routine, I've learned. But it really does amazing things to your skin. And once you get the hang of it, applying all these products every night doesn't really take a whole lot of extra time. It also cuts back on my makeup routine in the morning, because when my skin is naturally healthy, clear, and soft, I'd rather show it off than cover it up. ;)5. Night Cream - Nature Republic Fresh Green TeaNOTE: This particular product is not sold on Amazon. I had to buy it on sale at my local Korean market because I was too scared to order anything over $10 that I wasn't sure about. But you can find any number of night creams here for the final step. I recommend something with green tea or aloe. Just apply at night onto clean, pampered skin, rub it in thoroughly, and sleep on it!Other Cosmetics/Extras I Found Useful/Worth Purchasing:Facial Scrub - Skin Food Black Sugar MaskUse twice a week for a deeper facial cleanse than you regular cleanser. Apply a little, gently exfoliate, leave on, rinse off. If it goes on too thick, use a little water or toner to make it easier to scrub in.CC Cream - Lioele Dollish CC Cera-VCC Creams are much like BB Creams, (not a cream to match your skin colour, but a transparent foundation/primer) but if my experience with the two I've tried is any indication, CC Creams give more coverage and make the skin look more bright, white, and luminescent, rather than simply evening out the skin tone and providing SPF. Apply before any colour foundations.Highlighter - Etude House Secret Beam Highlighter #1 Pink & White MixTo be brushed on over foundation in key spots to brighten the face even further. Goes on like a sheer fairy dust--just a bit of sparkle, but not like glitter. This isn't for a Labyrinth Masquerade ball, you know. ;)Face Mist - Innisfree Green Tea Mineral MistFace Mist is something you apply whenever you choose, before or after makeup, to keep your face hydrated and fresh throughout the day. I carry a bottle in my purse and spritz a little on whenever I feel my face is tired. :) This particular mist I haven't tried yet, because my order hasn't arrived, but I bought a Nature Republic bamboo mist from my local Korean market, and I love it a lot.Products I Didn't Think Worth the Fuss:Face Masks- These are a huge hit in Korea, and they're fun to wear around the house to get a rise out of family members who think you look creepy. But for me they're too sticky, drippy, and overrated. I prefer the clay masks or avocado masks that you have to wash off after.Expensive Serums, Essence, Bee Toxin... anything over $20 a bottle I passed up. As I've discovered, you can get really great results with just the five things I listed above, and none of them are over $15. Most are under $10.

Love This
I first found this a few years ago at TJ Maxx and recently I haven’t been seeing it and I just found it here, so excited this works so good cleansing my face and removing makeup as well while keeping my skin soft and moisturized. I especially like how my skin feels fresh afterwards. My daughter tried some when she came to visit from out of town and she wanted to know where I purchased it. She is a licensed aesthetician and she approves.

Gentle, Effective, and Surprisingly Powerful Cleansing Oil ✨🧖♀️💖
I’ve been loving The Face Shop Rice Water Bright Light Cleansing Oil (150 mL / 5.04 oz)!💖 Packaging & DesignThe bottle is sleek and pink 💕 — so pretty on my vanity. I love the safety cap because it prevents accidental pumping. To use, just slide off the cap and pump with your finger — simple and hygienic ✨✨ Texture & ScentThe oil has the perfect texture — not too thick, not too runny. It feels very gentle on the skin and works great for sensitive skin like mine 🥰 It does have a light fragrance; I usually avoid fragrance, but this one is mild and not irritating.🧴 PerformanceThis cleansing oil removes full-face makeup effortlessly. I tested it with mascara, tinted sunscreen, and a full skincare routine, and it completely dissolved everything 💖 My skin feels incredibly clean afterward without feeling stripped.💡 Tips for Blackhead-Prone AreasIf you’re focusing on blackheads (especially on the nose):✔️ Use a generous amount and massage in circular motions✔️ For stubborn areas, gently work the oil in with your fingers or a silicone cleansing brush✔️ Follow with a second rinse or gentle foam cleanser to remove any residue🌸 Final ThoughtsI bought this after seeing videos of people using it for blackhead removal. While results aren’t instant, consistent use leaves my skin feeling very clean and bright ✨ Gentle, effective, and beautifully packaged — definitely recommend! 💕

My fav oil cleanser, when I get the right version
Long story short: Check the bottle and make sure you've received one from Korea that has jojoba oil, not one from China that has canola oil in it!I'm in my 40's and have extremely sensitive, combination skin that breaks out or has an allergic reaction to nearly every little thing, and have been through more oil cleansers than I can count. When I get the right version of this, it's the best one for my skin, no competition, and when used right I don't even need to use a second cleanser, especially during colder, drier months. If you work it into your skin long enough, both before and after you've added water, it's an amazing and gentle exfoliater that'll leave you glowing. Though, if I have any heavy makeup on or multiple layers of sunscreen I usually still use a second cleanser, so I'd say just your judgement! Foaming cleansers are honestly doing more harm than good for most us so I try and use them as little as possible. There is a scent, but with the right bottle it's very mild and non-irritating and I've managed to get used to it. (I'm also very sensitive to scent, and nearly everything I use in my home and skin care is unscented so it doesn't trigger a skin reaction or give me headaches. This also means I'm now even MORE sensitive to scents since I've created a scent free environment for myself. So I feel like if I've grown accustomed to it most people won't be bothered by it at all.) The scent of the fake product is much stronger and gives me headaches almost right away. It's also a thicker oil that's a lot harder to break down, since it's canola oil and not jojoba, so I wouldn't be surprised if those who have mentioned a strong smell and slimier oil have also received the wrong bottle.I can't say much about how it breaks down makeup because I usually don't wear any, but it cuts through a few layers of sunscreen just fine. It also lasts a decent amount of time, even when I sometimes use it up to 3 times a day, since you don't need to use a whole lot for it to do its job. I think the amount of time you work it into your skin matters more than using a whole lot of it.Added bonus? Rice oil/water is very nourishing for hair and can encourage growth. My eyebrows that never recovered from the 90's over-plucking fad have finally started coming back in a bit, and even my eyelashes are looking darker and thicker. Anytime I've tried to switch to another cleansing oil (back before I realized I was sometimes receiving a dupe) both my eyebrows and eyelashes started thinning out again. So while I can't say everyone will experience this, it's a definite possibility.Edited to add: I just wanted to clarify that using this amazon listing I have received both the right product, and the wrong one. I don't know if the supplier just sometimes changes, or what. I've also had this happen purchasing somewhere else entirely. So regardless of which listing, or site, you use to purchase this oil you should double check the bottle before you open it to make sure that it's the right one, and make sure you can return it in case it's not!

Best face cleanser
Best face cleanser! I use it at night and it removes the day’s makeup and sunscreen without making my skin feel dry. Would highly recommend!

Makeup Melt and Skin Prep
This product is great, especially coupled with the Rice Water Bright Light Face Cleansing Foam. The oil does not have a scent and I have not had any issues with it and my sensitive skin. It does a good job of taking off your makeup of the day (with a little extra attention to eye makeup area). Following up with the face cleanser is *chefs kiss*. My skin feels very clean at the end of the regime, and it's super simple and doesn't take long. You can say goodbye to the 10-step skincare routines. I've heard that sometimes when people start new products, it tends to break your skin out - I have NOT had this issue with these products when I transitioned to these products! If you're looking for something that just gets the job done while taking care of your skin and ensuring it's clean - the oil and cleanser combo are for you. **One potential issue: a recommendation I have is to follow up with a rich, intense moisturizer because I do feel as though after the two, it strips my skin and makes it feel tight.** My skin is combination, but errs on the dry side.Skincare Steps:Oil (this product) -> Rice Water Cleanser (same brand) -> an INTENSE moisturizer(I personally use either:1. Cetaphil Face Cream Healthy Radiance Renewing Cream. It's very, very light, is clear, and leaves a dewy effect on the skin. It's hypoallergenic, and feels like it's restoring the water to my skin.OR2. Cetaphil Deep Hydration Healthy Glow Daily Face Cream. This is heavier than the first and way more creamy. You'll have to put it on in the same you'd do a regular lotion. It does have a slight scent, but it's not bad. It has the same benefits as the first, except I feel like it locks in moisture for longer periods of time.)Hope this is helpful!

Good for removing eye makeup
I use this to remove my eye makeup and within two cycles of application and rinsing, even my heaviest makeup is gone. It does sting just a tad if I accidentally open my eyes before I’ve washed it off. I also have to be careful not to get it on my forehead or temples because it breaks me out. But for eye makeup removal I think it’s great! I’ve had it for many months and I’ve only gone through about a quarter of the bottle.

Easy on the pocket, big on results
This silky oil is light for gentle facial cleansing on a daily basis. The pump bottle releases measured quantity for one use ,sufficient enough to cover face and scrub gently.Using a soft textured face towel works wonders as the daily dirt and grime comes off easy without drying the skin. I have adult /mature skin thats starting to become dry. I feel supple and refreshing clean after using this cleanser and and very happy with the over result of the skin. I'd recommend it to every one. The perfume is very subtle and doesn't cause any tryouts oe itching. All in all at this price point it's a good product for essential everyday skin routine.

Buen producto

Good for double cleansing.
Those who have given in on the new trend of double cleansing would definitely like this. I was searching for a good oil cleanser and I think my search have ended. This is a very light oil cleanser so no need to worry about pore cloging. This melts your makeup even waterproof mascara in minutes. I used to avoid using waterproof mascara as I couldn't remove mascara fully but this cleanser just removes it so easily.I know this is a korean product and most of there products are so good but this is definitely a game changer.I used to breakout whenever I used to apply makeup as the makeup couldn't get out pf my pores by just using a micellar water. Now I use this cleanser and when I apply water is get milky like a milk cleanser and washes off your makeup easily. I also use a milk cleanser after this so no makeup is left.It claims to give a brightning effect but I would just say that I didn't notice anything like that, but people might think that, as you remove all the gunk and all the oxidized makeup off your face. Now, speaking of the price of the product, it is a little expensive for the amount but it is less than any other oil cleanser in our market. Besides it is totally worth the price, but for a college student like me it can be a little costly. All the other things aside just buy it during an offer you will be good to go.

Nice and light
I wasn't one for jumping onto the "rice water" bandwagon, but I was looking for something with an oil that wasn't as heavy as most of the ones I've already tried. The "gentle non greasy formula" was what initially got my attention, and the reviews from those that seemed to have the same acne-prone skin were what clinched it for me to give it a try.In the mornings I apply some to my face with my hands while in the shower and massage it around my forehead, cheeks and chin, which are my driest areas. Rinsing it off with water and patting dry my face almost glows and my skin feels soft and clean. In the evenings I apply a bit onto a cotton swab and go around my face again and then clean off any makeup I might have applied that day. I splash some water onto my face and softly pat-dry to feel refreshed and ready for bed.The only thing I don't like is how much comes out of the dispenser, a smaller delivery would be nicer, but I just try to be mindful of how far I press it down to use less. I don't mind the fragrance at all, by the time I rinse it off I don't smell anything at all.I would not leave this on my face, I make sure to rinse right away after massaging it in - one evening I was so tired I forgot to rinse it off as I used to use a toner before bed that wouldn't get rinsed off (oops) and woke up with a break-out, but it was only a few of pimples, they disappeared after a couple of days of properly rinsing this cleaner off.I would recommend it for anyone who has really dry and acne prone skin, which is what I have.
