It seems light for the length, which is good.
This is my first surf casting rod. I won't have a chance to use it until late June. Even though I am only 5'6" and am weak due to recent surgery, I had no trouble with a few test casts without reel in my front yard.

Great Rods!
I bought 2 for a recent trip to Florida. I've never owned a surf rod before, but I've been fishing for 30+ years. These rods are legit. The first fish I pulled in on the 13' was a 5' nurse shark. I guess it was in the 40lb range. I could feel the weight of it, but had no problem pulling it out of fast pass currents with this and a Okuma ABF80CL reel. Tgis set up could have easily handled something much bigger. I'll try to put it to the test again next time and wll definitely add more of these rods to my fishing arsenal.

Quality product for cheap!
I use the 8'6" distance model for 3/4 oz to 2 oz lures, with great success. The rod has decent backbone, and great castability while also being very lightweight. If you cast all day long like I do, you will appreciate this rod. It catches fish!

Product came in mail damaged.
Very disappointed. Came very quickly and earlier than expected but came damaged in the mail like shown in the picture.
