AP Products Starlights T8-18 18-Inch Fluorescent Tube LED Replacement with Harness Ballast Bypass

I purchased two of these LED tubes to replace the florescent tubes in my toy trailer. Not only are they brighter than the florescent I like the fact that they come on instantly and are very simple to install. After seeing how well these work and how little power they draw I plan on purchasing four more to finish the job. I recommend this product for anyone that dry camps for the power draw alone.

The perfect upgrade for my RV. East to install and they give a nice clear light. All my other old fluorescents will be replaced with these as they're needed. Not inexpensive, but a great value in the long run.

These Starlights T8 18" lights are expensive but I got one and it works well this first month of use. With the light output you really only need one per fixture when replacing the fluorescent bulbs. The light color is pretty cool as in that bluish white. It is a little nicer than my remaining fluorescentsts though. Like many, I was having problems with a light. I have no idea if it was the bulbs or the ballast and I didn't want to chance replacing the bulbs with fluorescents. I cut the power wires in my fixture and drilled a hole in the plastic so that the wires could be run into the bulb compartment. I bought this LED light as an Amazon Warehouse return so I got it for 30 bucks. The pigtail with connector was missing so I just cut the connector off the light's cord. I then used wire nuts to connect - nice and easy. Thankfully the LED light is not polarity sensitive because the instructions didn't seem to match what I had in front of me. Any, the instructions are not necessary since there is no incorrect polarity. By the way, try the 3M wire nuts. You can go from two 22ga wires up to three 12ga wires with the same nut!

This looks like an excellent product, and exactly what I need, except that it requires DC, which wasn't mentioned in the item description. I need an LED tube for my vintage desk lamp, and that's AC. I took the lamp to an electrician to rewire it as per the included instructions, and he wouldn't touch it. If you need this tube for a fixture that plugs into an outlet, you may need to get adventurous. I tried, but it was beyond my ability to get it done.

I bought two of these LED tubes to retrofit one of the existing florescent ceiling lights in my camper. I followed the instructions and was able to install the bulbs in about 20 minutes. They are noticeably brighter than the florescent bulbs were and I may add a second switch so I can select between one and two bulbs. I highly recommend this product and it was well worth the money (about $35). I've already ordered another set for my other fixture.

Great lights for the sleeper in our truck. The lights we used for years needed to be replaced often because they couldn't withstand the bouncing down the road. These lights work so well with easily wired installation, my husband began his obsession with replacing lots of lights on our truck. These were the beginning of his addiction!

Buy at your own risk, the installation of this product is incredibly complicated for someone without electrical installation experience. The video provided on the product website has errors and is not easy to follow. As of writing this view I am out the entire cost of the bulb, and the cost of buying a replacement fixture, as we removed the ballast attempting to install this bulb.

I replaced one tube in a double tube F15T8 fixture. Trivial to do with just a wire cutter. Other reviews were correct in that one tube is whiter and brighter than the original double florescent fixture. I'm very pleased with this item and recommend it. It's a bit pricey but I assume I'll never have to replace the light again.
