I bought this repair tape to fix a dual line stunt kite. I have been flying professionally for 5 years. I used this clear tape repair product as a cheaper alternative to the prism repair tape and other kite repair patches after I noticed a 3" year on the spine of my prism E3 and a 2.5" year along the main sail of my skyburner Ocius. Ease of use: 5/5 - clean the material, cut the patch out, and apply the patch. Durability: 5/5 - I applied these patches a few months ago and have been flying my kites in 5-25 mph winds. The patches are in very heavily abuses sections of the kites. This patch has been unnoticeable in terms of kite performance and cosmetics. Additionally, there are ZERO signs of wear around the patch. The instructions note to allow a short period of time for the patch to affix to he material securely (like glue drying) and that after his one hour period, the patch will actually strengthen its bond to the material with time. This means increased strength of repair over time and with use. Cosmetics: 5/5 - what repair? From a distance of one foot you can't even tell I repaired the kite sails. From closer, while a highly detailed oriented person might see the patches, the patch is clear and designed to be unnoticeable in day to day use. Waterproof: ?5/5 - I do not submerge my kites in water, however, I do out them up in 25mph winds. There is zero air leak or I would noticed the performance drop of the kites. Thus, I extrapolate that this seal is waterproof and would work for those patching rain jackets. Given the abuse the kites take and the force of wind they see, and the fact that this has fixed my previously poorly performing kites because before they were shedding wind heavily, thus product is a kitesaver! And if used on a jacket, I expect it to save your torn jacket. Overall - this patch performed above and beyond my expectations. At this low price, I've bought multiple kits to be prepared for my next kite sail tear and to be able to quickly patch it up and get back in the sky.

Everyone who camps should have this tape. Yes, everyone. Let me tell you a story about an idiot (me). I was out motorcycle camping with some friends, we were hours away from anything, it's dark, I'm in my tent setting up, I tried to pack smart, I have everything I need, nothing I don't, I've been meticulous on my gear choices, and I'm just trying to have a good time. Well, I managed to snap a tent pole on a rather expensive brand-new bivvy tent. I didn't know this, but the inner tent poles can only be installed one way, the head end has to be towards the head of the tent, if they aren't.... well, you screw things up, and poles break. So, while I'm frustrated, I'm not going to let this ruin everything, this is the beginning of a whole weekend trip, and I want to enjoy this. No problem. I'll just tape the pole, even if it's not perfect, it'll hold for a few days. So I crawl out of my tiny tent, go grab my tape, go back to the tent, and cut a length of tape. Right next to my (also brand-new) inflatable sleeping pad. Annnnnd I drop my knife right onto the inflated sleeping pad. Surprisingly, it doesn't land point-first and go right through, so I think I'm fine. Well, 2 hours later I wake up, and I'm laying on the ground, sleeping pad is half empty, and I realize, no, I'm not fine. I screwed up, and things are about to be very cold and miserable for the next few days. Then I remember, a last minute purchase, that I made right before the trip, I got some tenacious tape. Everyone raved about this stuff. There's no way it could possibly hold good enough to keep air in the pad with all of my weight on top of it, right? So, off I go again, digging in my pack, find the tape, it's a miracle, I actually remembered to pack it. I cut off a small square, (this time a very long ways away from my tent and anything that I can destroy) and tape the pad up and press it on the best I can. I blow some more air into the pad and gingerly put my weight back on it. And it holds! So, I feel like an idiot, and also happy with myself at the same time. I did break the rule of not doing dumb things, but at least I brought the right stuff to fix my mistakes. That pad held air for the rest of the trip, no leaking at all. I was extremely surprised and impressed. Moral of the story is, buy tenacious tape, and put it in your bag. If you manage to do something extremely stupid, maybe you can fix it.

I had a easy up that the mice decided to chew a hole in a few spots so I was looking for a quick easy solution to patch it up before a camping trip and this stuff works great. I patched my easy up at the beginning of the season and used all season rain, wind and sunshine it held all summer without issue. Its not the prettiest stuff nor is it easy to cut with scissors I recommend using a utility nice a good sharp one with a little silicon spray on the blade so it doesn't stick to the edge of the tape. There are so many uses for this stuff, I have some in the boat, i carry some in the kayak and camping gear I even carry some in the tool box of the utv I serious think you could use it as a temporary patch for an off road tire it would hold alot of air pressure however something like 3-5lbs I bet would work you could even patch kids pool toys so many uses. If your hear reading this then I recommend you get a role and give it a try for yourself.

I've been using tenacious tape for everything but it really took the cake when I had to warranty this pad because it's nozzle was clogged. I had to cut the nozzle free which meant I could unclog it from the other side. Just because I could, I tried mending the pad with the tape and not only did it take air, but it held it. The cut goes all the way through on both sides. I'm sure this won't last long term but because this is kind of a throw away pad, I'm looking forward to test how well it holds. Otherwise I use this for a lot of gear that has rips or tears. A lot of thrifted stuff gets mended with it. Tent holes fixed. I always come back to it.

Tenacious tape is a critical part of my backpacking gear list. The tape is an absolute must have on any long distance hike. I recently completed the John Muir Trail. On the third day of the hike, my tent sack had a four inch rip near the top while stuffing in my tent. I remembered that I had the tape in my pack and gave the tape a try. The tape worked perfectly for the rest of the trip. The tape is strong and durable. I highly recommend tenacious tape for your backpacking gear list and the tape can make solid repairs on gear at home. You won't need to pack the entire roll on a hike, just a small section. The tape cuts easily and you can even be creative on what type of tape design you want on your damaged gear. On a rain jacket you can cut a circle or even make a shape like a rain drop with the tape. The tape comes in different colors if that is important to you. The tape is not easy to remove once applied so think before you tape your gear.

Excellent material. I got the clear and can barely see the tape. Adheres very well and appears to be quite durable. We’ll see how well it actually holds up over time.

When I first used this on a 20 foot inflatable Santa, I thought I'd hit the jackpot! It was easy to apply, the adhesive was super strong and it created the perfect patch. I had to use 1 1/2 rolls for a foot long rip, but I was over the moon ecstatic about finding something that actually did what it was supposed to do. And yes, it was technically 'waterproof' - just like most tapes, water (in the form of regular rain) slid right off it. However, my joy dissolved into disappointment when I had to deflate my Santa to save it from being destroyed in a thunderstorm: the patched area was submerged in a puddle of water for over 24 hours, and when I shook Santa out, about 75% of the tape had completely come off. What the heck!? Having to re-apply the tape after every submersion was not acceptable. However, I'm at least giving 3 stars because this stuff fixed the 1/2" tear to my down jacket beautifully so that's it's barely noticeable, which I'm grateful for - so clearly it's useful in my capacities, just not for repairs that are subjected to immersion in water.

This tape saved my brand new Marmot jacket. Dont hesitate to purchase this product, I am a perfectionist, this tape is awesome. I slipped down the stairs in my brand new Marmot jacket a week after I purchased it. Somehow I managed to get two precision cuts on the elbow of the jacket. I had down feathers flying out of the hole every time i moved my arm. I was truly disappointed that I ruined my jacket after only a week of use, I swore to myself that I will never buy another jacket with such thin material. After doing research I purchased this product, the picture doesn't do it justice, the tape makes my jacket look and wear like it is brand new again. I am fully confident that it will stay on it for the life of my jacket. I purchased the clear, it is barely noticeable, easy to apply, and slightly stands out because of the glare. I will now use it on all my outdoor gear. I wish I knew about it sooner, I would have fixed my backpacking tent that has a small hole on the side from an amber landing on it. The best solution out there. Very happy!

Easy to use and reliable

Given the high cost of this tape I was sceptical, but as I had a very large tear in my otherwise pristine Gore-Tex PacLite jacket I took a punt on it. Took a while to arrive (although within the indicated time to be fair and it was posted direct from the U.S), and there was only just enough provided to do my repair (it was a *very* large tear). I followed the instructions to the letter, prepping the surface with Isopropyl alcohol and trimming the corners to a curve. I applied the tape to the inside of the jacket, having first used clear Scotch tape on the outside to hold the material together as best I could. I had to use two pieces of Tenacious tape due to the nature of my tear. It has done a really nice job and you have to look quite closely at the outside of the garment to even spot the repair, it's extended the life of an otherwise still decent jacket. It's been about a month now since I did the repair and all is well with no sign of peeling so I'm hopeful about the longevity of the fix. I did spend quite a lot of time on the prep however and I suspect that (like painting) the end results are dependent on the quality of the preparation. It also probably helped that the Gore-Tex Pac-Lite inner was well suited to the tape adhesive. All in all, very satisfied and would buy again, especially as the supplier included a 10% off voucher for an additional purchase.

I am surprised with how well its holding up on the jackets i used it on. It even held up when washing them in the washing machine multiple times. But mileage may very, on how you apply it,etc..
