Be aware before removing
The larger fitting (toward the firewall) on this accumulator connects to your vehicle's a/c evaporator. If your vehicle is as old as mine (1995 GMC C1500), there is a very good chance that the evaporator fitting is 'welded' to the old accumulator fitting due to dissimilar metals corrosion. *Exercise extreme care in the removal of this fitting*. If you destroy the fitting, like I did, now you get to take apart the entire dash and HVAC box - it took me years to get around to it. There are various ways around this issue (see youtube for some creative approaches to cutting the two pieces apart), but be aware and be very careful in how you proceed. You must protect the threads and the fitting on the evaporator. This part is great and it is worth it in this case to pay a little more for the genuine ACDelco replacement part.
