13200 Class 3 Trailer Hitch, 2" Receiver for Toyota Highlander | Fits 2014 to 2019 Highlander, 6,000 lb GTW, 900 lb TW, 8,000 lb WD, Exposed Round-Tube Body, Fascia Trim Required

2019 Highlander: Trailer hitch arrived faster than expected via FedEx and was in excellent condition. It was relatively easy to install but I needed a helper to hold up one side while I bolted in the other. I started the bolts first to make sure they went in but found one to be a little difficult. No need to take down the exhaust or spare tire. Only needed a screwdriver, a pair of industrial scissors or cutter (to shave down the plastic piece on the drivers side) and a few sockets 11/16” 3/4” 10mm 12mm and extension to reach up around the muffler area. The drivers side is easier to put in than the passenger side. If the bolts caught easier it would have taken me about 30min but total time was about an hour. It fits great, everything lines up nicely. The steel is heavy and solid. No issue with ground clearance (I did back up onto ramps to make things easier to install. The mounting hardware was good quality and worked well. I would recommend this UHaul/Curt trailer hitch. I also bought the Curt 4-pin mounting bracket and screwed it into the bumper and the Curt wiring harness that took me 15min or less to run from the trunk area (plug and play style connectors) down to the hitch. Overall very good quality and saved a lot on purchasing and installation doing it this way. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Product is awesome sturdy and the instructions were decent. Modifying the plastic panels was easy enough with a handsaw or multitool. Tucks up real tight to bumper. Took me about an hour but I work with tools everyday so maybe a bit longer if tolls aren’t your thing. Done solo by using a box to hold up one side while I bolted the other.

I'd bought a new 2016 Toyota Highlander New Year's Eve and needed to get a receiver hitch and wiring installed. I was seeing quotes of $1,000 and above for the dealership to install. A truck accessory business near me quoted almost $500.00. I watched a few videos on YouTube and read some instructions and reviews online and decided to attempt it myself. I ordered this Curt hitch, the Curt #56217 wiring kit, and a rubber Toyota hitch cover all for roughly $225.00. It all showed up in a reasonable amount of time, all packaged well enough and my only surprise was the beefiness of the hitch. Its a class III which is kind of overkill for my use but it fits well, price is great, looks good, and installation wasn't hard. I spent a few hours Saturday installing the wiring which was my biggest concern but it was actually quite easy. I drilled a small hole for the ground wire and ran the wiring underneath through a rubber grommet on the drivers side of the vehicle. Sunday I installed the hitch itself and borrowed my wife's help for about ten minutes to lift the hitch up into place and start the bolts. There are a couple of plastic pieces to cut. They weren't hard to cut and they are well hidden up under the back of the vehicle. I would rather of not had to cut them but apparently, its a pretty standard procedure. This entire installation could of gone faster but I'm very particular and meticulous. The hitch looks good, the videos that I found plus the instructions made it all a breeze and I'm proud of how it turned out. I have yet to pull the trailer but I pulled it for years behind another vehicle with a class II hitch so I know this will do just fine.

Very good quality hitch. Took me and my wife 3-4 hours to install. Make sure you have all the tools needed: 10mm, 12mm, 17mm, and 19mm sockets (A 3/4" can be used in place of the 19mm, they are almost an exact match). You do not have to remove the insert/panel on the passenger side. Otherwise the various videos are very helpful. We did it without lifting the back of the car, there is plenty of room to get under it. And I'm a big guy. My only gripe is that it arrived 'bare' with the parts pack/instructions taped on in a plastic bag. The paint is tough as it had no damage, and it fit perfectly. Also it had about 6 stickers that I had to remove, which almost took longer that the rest of the installation! All the stickers had very tough glue. What a pain. Overall, very happy with the hitch. Note that Curt Mfg makes 2 hitches for the 2015-19 Highlander. This review is for the heavier duty model 13200 (Which is actually cheaper than the 13394, and may be easier to install. The advantage of the 13394 is that it is mostly hidden behind the vehicle's bumper cover. The 13200 has a 6000 pound rating and allows a 900 pound tongue weight; the 13394 is 5000/500. Also I should mention that I ordered it at 5:30pm on Saturday, and it arrived at 1:30pm Sunday, which is incredible. Don't know how it got here, but you can't beat that!!

I finally got around to installing this. One thing I didn’t like was how the shipped the item. There was no packaging, just some thick paper wrapped around the 2 round tubular parts of the hitch. So there were some scratches in the powder coat finish when i received it. But I wasn’t going to go through the return process just for that. As for the install, it was very easy. The directions are good, but if you go on YouTube, the video is even better. It clearly shows you, that you must cut away the tabs that keep the lower half of the bumper to the body. I was able to install this by myself. Once you remove the parts, you can sneak the hitch under the car, then get under it and kind of “Hip thrust” the hitch up and then screw in a bolt on each side. Once you have a bolt in, you can use a jack stand to keep it stable and get the other bolts in. It’s only 6 bolts that hold in the hitch One thing i wish i knew ahead of time was that this won’t fit a full size spare. I hate having a donut but with this hitch, it recesses back into the tire area about an inch or two too much (but on the other hand it does make the hitch flush with the bumper). I may try deflating my spare or buying another tire for the spare that is meant to be deflated and then inflated when needed. Other than that, only tools needed are a flat head screwdriver, Philips screwdriver, 10mm socket, 17mm, and 19mm sockets. And something to cut away the plastic. I used metal snips but it’s plastic, you can use some really strong shears/scissors or a Dremel too.

I'm not going to reiterate what all of the 5 star reviewers have said - rest assured it's all true. There are just a few tiny bumps I'd like to mention. If you're going to reuse the plastic splash guard from under the drivers side that you have to remove - honestly, there won't be much left once you cut to fit after the hitch is installed, you can just toss it if you want - keep the metal screws to reuse. Also, the two nuts on the splash guard that are recessed about 8" next to the spare are NOT nuts, you can't unscrew them. They're just friction pins that the grommets are pressed on to, or at least they are on my car. Just grab the splash guard after you've removed all the other fasteners and pull hard straight down. Also, when/if you use a Dremel tool to cut the splash guard check the instructions that COME WITH the hitch. It shows a clearer diagram of the TWO sections that have to be removed if you're going to reinstall. I suppose you could install this while lying flat on your driveway, but you'd almost have to be a contortionist to do it. I'd highly recommend getting some inexpensive ramps (RhinoGear 11909ABMI - Amazon - $40) which'll raise the vehicle 6" higher. It makes install much easer - and you can use them for tons of things. Everything should come off pretty easily, no rust. The screws you (I) had to remove were all heavily galvanized and had zero rust, they came out easily. If you have an extra set of hands that's best, but if not you can install this yourself. Get a jack stand or hydraulic jack that can lift to at least 23" - that's what I needed for my Highlander which was also on ramps. Use wire ties or a chunk of mechanics wire to strap a piece of 2"x4-6-8 X 10" long to the top of the jack. The wood is on there to just give it a bigger base to rest the drivers side end of the hitch on. Set the drivers side end on the jack stand (this should under the vehicle already, approximately under the screw holes) and lift the other side up and over the muffler. Here's where it gets a bit tricky. You will have to move the hitch around a bit to get it to slide under the bumper and over the muffler - that's why you have a big piece of wood on the jack, it allows you to move the hitch a bit without falling off the jack. Anyway, the muffler will move a 1/2" inch or so and the bottom of the bumper is plastic so experiment a bit and it'll go in. Then just lift the passenger side into position first and attach one or two screws loosely - do not tighten yet. Go to the drivers side and install the 3 screws on that side - LOOSELY - and install any remaining screws. They give you six and you'll use them all. Torque wrench it if you have one (85 pounds) or just make it GNT - it won't fall off. Be careful - should take maybe 20 minutes tops. Good luck!

Fit perfect on my 2017 Toyota Highlander. Easy to install and took like 30 min from start to finish. Awesome deal!

The Curt hitch was easy to install and looks good on my Highlander. I watched a few videos on YouTube and the installation was quite simple. Only needed my 12 year old son's help to hold one side up while I put the bolts on. The hitch cost half of what the dealer was charging and would have cost another $250 for install. This one you can do yourself! Overall very happy with purchase.

Shipped quickly. Watched 2 separate videos on how to install it. That made installation easier. Read instructions but didnt use them other than the orientation on the washers. You may need a second person for help. Protip start each bolt into the appropriate threads on the frame prior to trying to install hitch. This will make sure for easier threading when mounting the hitch. The reason is road debris/rust may hamper threading the bolt into the frame especially on older vehicles. This allows you to clean threads and add a lubricant. Excellent build quality, well packed hardware. Excellent value as well. This is easy to do if you have a couple essential tools. Also spare tire removal prior to installing also helps make installation easier. For less than $200 this is excellent value!
