It feels like metal. It has a pretty good weight. I have two now. For spoke word, it's great. Low handling noise. Well worth the price.

It uses a standard 3 conductor XLR mic cable. You will need to know if your amp has that type of connector, or a '1/4" phone' jack. You can get an XLR to XLR or an XLR to 1/4" cable as needed.
