Great wok – worth the seasoning effort
I purchased this back in September, and after a few months of regular use, I'm really happy with it. What I like: · Solid construction – the carbon steel material heats up quickly and evenly. It handles high heat well, which is essential for proper stir-frying. I've used it on gas, and it performs beautifully. · Great size – 12.5 inches is perfect for cooking meals for 2–4 people. Big enough to toss ingredients without overcrowding, but not so large that it's hard to handle. · Comes with extras – the included wooden lid, spatula, and ladle are a nice bonus. The user guide video was actually helpful for getting the seasoning right. · Versatile – works on gas, electric, and induction. I've tried it on both gas and induction, and no issues. A couple things to know: · Like any carbon steel wok, it requires initial seasoning and regular maintenance to build up a non-stick patina. It's not a "use right out of the box" kind of pan, but the process is straightforward and worth it. · It will rust if left wet, so make sure to dry it thoroughly after washing and apply a thin layer of oil. Overall, this is a solid wok for anyone serious about stir-frying. With proper care, it will last for years and perform way better than non-stick alternatives. Highly recommend!

Excellent wok, with one caveat about initial seasoning.
I cooked with my new wok today (more on that later). I wanted to share this photo of the new wok beside my trusty 40 year-old family heirloom, which is a handmade hammered steel wok. It has been a workhorse. The hammer marks on my old wok serve to hold food that you want to pull away from the hot middle while you add more ingredients, or reduce a sauce. The hammer marks on this new Souped-up-recipes wok are more pronounced, so should serve the same purpose even better. They are manufactured, not hand- hammered. I followed the seasoning instructions exactly, including washing off the protective wax. I think not all the wax came off in hot soapy water though, as the seasoning oil just wanted to slide off. I made two applications of oil and hour-long bakes in the oven. However, the seasoning process was not really successful. Tonight I cooked kung pao chicken in the new wok. The first ingredient was marinated chicken in a generous amount of oil. The chicken stuck really bad! After cooking the chicken, I paused the recipe to deglaze the pan with some water and a lot of elbow grease. The good news is that I think the wok is ready to be seasoned again, the bad news is that we probably got some of the wax in our food. Bottom line, compared to my trusty old wok, this wok looks to be high quality. The weight is nearly the same, and the flat bottom is a little easier to deal with on the stove. Unless I come back to update this review in case I am not able to get it properly seasoned for nonstick cooking, then you can be sure that this wok is a good buy. It seems very sturdy and should last decades. *Update* After seasoning again, and doing some deep frying, this wok is perfectly seasoned and completely non-stick. *Another update after 10 months* I use this wok at least once per week. I haven't had to re-season even once. It has developed a beautiful patina making it completely nonstick. As soon as I dump the food into a serving dish, I take the hot wok to the sink and rinse with hot water. Everything comes off easily with a few scrapes of the spatula, and a few swipes with a nylon brush. No soap! Back on the hot stove with the burner off for a quick dry while we eat. I couldn't be happier with this wok!

Product quality
This item is incredible. It cooks like what I desired, even visually. It is totally nonstick(after care is important), awesome one! The handle is strong, nice grip. However, it's a little heavy for my wrist. Lol

1st wok. Love it.
My first wok and I couldn’t be happier. Wood lid and spatula are a nice touch. Pan is not as light as I thought but that is okay. Seasoned the way her channel said and it went well. Comes pre- seasoned but it did not last past the second time cooking. Saw cracks in the seasoning from the manufacturer as you can see in my picture. I saw another review about this but it did not dissuade me into purchasing. I don’t mind it as I can season over time or put it on my jet burner and add a new hardened layer. It was annoying to clean after I set pan on induction top to dry after wiping. All these little bits of seasoning from the manufacture were coming off in droves. Wiped it with water and my soft bristle brush. Spatula is not the best. The head is perfect but the shaft is not ideal. It is a U-shaped shaft, so the underneath is hollowed and the edges are a bit jagged and I actually gave myself a microscopic metal cut when my hand slid down the shaft. The handle is a bit short or would be better if designed when meeting the shaft leading to the head. Wooden lid is pleasant. I’ve used it for one of her recipes for chicken noodle soup. I didn’t have any breaks or defects when I received mine. I would recommend FOOD GRADE beeswax or mineral oil from time to time to extend the life of the wood. Overall I love the wok. It works great on my induction. I have yet to try it on my jet burner. I think you will be happy with the purchase. Just go into it with overall knowledge of cast iron or carbon steel before buying. That way if yours does peel like mine and others it won’t deter you. If you bought a bare wok you have to season yourself before use to get it dark in color, then it shouldn’t bother you if the seasoning comes off. It happens. Thank you.

Wok is superb!
I would give it 10 ⭐'s if I could! Bare with me as to why. So I bought 2 of these woks back in August 2019 at discount kindly offered by Mandy. I checked only one of them a few weeks later when I realized my 30 days refund/exchange window might expire. When we finally moved into our new place I assembled one and followed the seasoning instructions recommended by Mandy; oven style. By this time...the return window was over of course. Using flaxseed oil did make the wok look fabulous, but then after a few stir fries and a soak in warm soapy water, which made it worse because it started to rust...I realized that the seasoning was peeling off dramatically. I was so disappointed & upset. I messaged Mandy & addressed the issue. She was so kind and offered me another discount for the inconvenience of my effort in seasoning and failing. And she offered to adjust the recommendations via her YouTube channel. I was delighted because I wanted to like these light weight woks so badly. I've been searching for a good wok for over 5 years. The last one was from Restaurant depot, which my husband & his boss who was a CIA chef graduate (owns his own soup shop) purchased for me. They seasoned that heavy wok & messed up. I was so mad I told my husband to get rid of it. Anyhow, long story short...I didn't give up on this Souped Up Recipe wok. I kept seasoning it with vegetable oil (this time around) & sometimes even olive oil. Deep fried some chicken meat in it a few times...made sure I oiled it up after a good wash and stayed consistent with it. Let me just say...my eggs didn't stick onto it anymore....and it works like buttered pan. There was only once or twice the eggs got stuck a little but it was fine after that. So yes...stay on top of the seasoning. Keep using it and wipe off the rust a few times. I used it recently to steam some steamed buns and the water helped clean it as well as enhanced the coating of the seasoning for some reason. Sorry for the long review, but I just couldn't bare reading all the negative reviews because I was almost there too and I do feel bad for Mandy. It's not her fault...😉

It's my new 'go to' kitchen aid
Just gorgeous! Please read the instructions before using it, and it will be such a joy to cook with. I love it for everything that requires frying or a sear. Gets crazy hot in almost no time, and makes stir-fry dinners in under 10 mins (excluding chopping time of course) Mine arrived way earlier than the estimated delivery date too. I will definitely be buying more for family and friends in future.

Fijne wok
Fijne wok. De houten deksel is handig om even de pan af te dekken. (Mosselen bv) Nu was ik hem af met heet water. Even paar seconden op het vuur om echt goed droog te worden en dan lichtjes invetten met olie Bakt niet aan.
