Really cool, versatile and well designed
I bought this so our small dogs would be blocked from going into the larger part of the yard during storms. Because itโs a mid open net material it should withstand some wind. I installed it on our deck and it was easy to do. Between this and a temporary gate on ground level, they will only be able to access about 1/4 of the yard (on nice days, they can play outside in the entire yard). Depending on where youโre installing it, you might have to use different closure hardware (all of which is included). When youโre installing, make sure that you pay close attention to the latch (the part of the hardware that catches the handles that look like hooks). Depending on how you are closing it, you will need to orient it correctly or the gate will not latch correctly and will be a potential safety hazard as this is a tension gate. One thing that I really like about it is that the rolled up gate can be removed from the wall like a cartridge and stored in the closet until it is needed. That way, thereโs no visible gate partially blocking the entryway. It just slides onto the wall hardware and locks into place. When removing, press the release button on the bottom and slide it back off. Thereโs a lock on top and itโs rated for indoor or outdoor use, so should be okay in all kinds of weather. I live by the coast, so we shall see! I donโt think Iโd trust a kid near thisโฆitโs too flimsy in my opinion. Maybe with constant supervision, but itโs pretty lightweight and flexible. Itโs held by tension and a plastic lock, but honesty, the weight of a toddler might do some stretching or damage that canโt be undone. The included screw guide was partially helpful, definitely make sure the holes are lined up before you drill holes. I would 100% buy again.

Great product & customer service!
We absolutely love our gate! We have a 5yo and 1yo twins and this keeps everyone safe and out of the kitchen downstairs. The 5yo can open and close it correctly without trouble and the twins (while push itโs limits) have not pulled it down or been able to escape. When we first installed the gate, a rivet came out of the bottom handle (see picture). This rivet helps hold the fabric in and I was concerned it would cause the gate to weaken or come apart. I contacted customer service and they were phenomenal! They responded quickly and ended up sending us a whole new gate. We have since put in the new gate and everything works beautifully! Pros: The gate is easy to open and close and the lock feature is easy to engage. The gate snaps into the wall mounts so we could put the second set of mounts in another location and easily move the gate. The packaging came with spacers to help attach it to the wall and baseboards. The gate feels sturdy and secure. I have no concerns of it falling or being pulled off the wall by my children. Cons: Some people may complain that the fabric sags at the top, but in reality it only does that if you forget to engage the lock feature. I didnโt lock it once and the 1yo pushed the fabric a few inches before I caught him and secured the gate. They can flip the fabric down in the center just barely to peek across but it does not jeopardize the integrity or sturdiness of the gate. Advice: Many reviews I read complained of dogs/children crawling through the bottom. If you donโt put the gate all the way to the floor (meaning attach it to the baseboards) then I can see that happening because there will be a gap and combined with the give of the fabric they will become Houdini! We installed it attached to the baseboards and have had no issues of the kids (or our 15lb dog) trying to get under the gate. Overall, we are very happy with out gate and we would highly recommend it. In addition, I was very thankful for the excellent customer service!

Great Geat! One tiny flaw that can be easily fixed.
So this gate is really great overall. The set up and installation was clear and one MAJOR bonus was that it comes with an extra set of mounts. This was great for us because we can easily move it between top or bottom of stairs as needed. Extremely convenient. The locking mechanism is solid and I know I won't have to worry about my children opening. It should be noted, this is not a hard gate. While it is sturdy material, I wouldn't recommend allowing kids to lean on, hold on to, hit, etc. One tiny flaw: the included wall anchors. They are really flimsy, and I was surprised that for a protective gate, they wouldn't think to include even slightly stronger ones. Just a few hammer hits to the anchor in a snug hole will bend it. They are usable, but harder to install in wood or steel (which might be common areas if you put by stairs). I had extra plastic anchors in my toolbox that did the job just fine. If you have extra anchors or are willing to spend $2 at a home improvement store, I'd recommend doing so. Basic handy skills are recommended, and if you can workaround the flimsy anchors, I highly recommend the gate.

Never buying another baby gate
I have to be honest, when I first got this gate, I hated it with a passion. We had a new born and I had THE most difficult time opening/closing it with one hand. Now Iโm chalking that frustration up to sleep deprivation and new parenthood making me lose my common sense. I now recommend this gate to absolutely everyone. My motherโs got two at her place, Iโve got two at mine and I finally just got my brother one. If youโre renting, make sure you landlord is cool with holes/agrees to letting you patch them, because this DOES mount to the wall. Install is a little tricky. The video we watched on our first one felt like it over complicated things, but itโs easiest with two people. I thought about trying to describe the install process here, but I only succeeded in confusing myself - YouTube is your friend here. Install complications aside, I love it. Itโs not clunky like the swinging gates are, and itโs sleek/skinny enough to not feel like itโs in the way. I think thatโs the thing I love most - it doesnโt feel like we have baby gates up all over the house, but theyโre there and theyโre reliable/durable. My 18 month old has tried desperately to get through them, but when theyโre locked, they donโt move. Theyโre great at keeping my dogs and kid where I want them. My one piece of advice is that if youโre not mounting into a stud, and you have a monster that will regularly try to get through it, or you have a feeling the gate might get beat on, use drywall anchors.

Can be installed almost anywhere if you have right tools
Excellent gate for babies, relatively easy to install if you have the right tools, and in our case a small piece of plywood had to be cut out to be installed on the railing post (see pictures). We have an 11 months old, so the gate was overdue for at least a month as she starts going everywhere and likes to climb those stairs. The gate comes with the necessary hardware (but not for unique setups, like ours), and in our case we got 2 sets of hardware, but only used one (and have plenty of spacers left). The base mount of the gate is the easiest to install, and this is where you should begin. Just requires a Phillips screwdriver. The top mount of the gate. There was no stud in the wall, so I just used heavier duty drywall anchors. The ones provided are not heavy enough for long term use just in my opinion. What is excellent is that plenty of spacers are provided to compensate for the gap created by baseboard below, and they have 4 holes in them. Just remember to use the outside holes first, when attaching the spacers, and then the inside as they are used to attach the actual mount for the gate attachment. Base catching mount was second easiest to install in our situation as it simply required 2 screws and a driver. I had to reposition mine, because of the torque I used and one of screws broke off. The stair post I was attaching to is also made from oak, which is a very hard wood. Top catching mount was easy to install, but took most time to come up with the right custom made spacer for the mount. See pictures. I made a spacer out of plywood that was about 3/4" thick, cut it at an angle to compensate for the slope in the vertical oak post, used 1/2" screws and some glue (obviously both not provided). Then I used 10" long zip ties (8" long were too short for our set up), and finally drilled out a hole on the back of the post and used 1 long screw there (again, obviously not provided) to fix the mount in place from rotation. Overall, in my opinion, this is an excellent sturdy gate, and can be installed anywhere if you have right tools.

Keep Pets Safe with Ease: EasyBaby Retractable Baby Gate
I recently purchased the EasyBaby Retractable Baby Gate to keep my dogs from going upstairs, and it has exceeded my expectations. This gate is not only perfect for babies but also ideal for pet owners looking to restrict access with ease. Setting up the gate was straightforward, and I appreciated how easy it was to install and adjust. The retractable feature allows me to extend or retract the gate with just one hand, making it incredibly convenient when my hands are full with the dogs. Once extended, the locking mechanism is sturdy and reliable, ensuring the gate stays securely in place. It gives me peace of mind knowing my dogs won't sneak upstairs or into restricted areas. The design is sleek and blends well with my home decor. Itโs also durable enough to withstand my dogโs curiosity and attempts to test its boundaries. Overall, the EasyBaby Retractable Baby Gate is a fantastic solution for pet owners seeking a versatile, easy-to-use gate that keeps their pets safe and secure. Highly recommended!

Overall good, but poor quality hardware.
Overall this appears to be a good product that will prevent my young children and dogs from accessing our stairway without adult supervision. It was mostly easy to install, and appears to be mostly well made. The pre printed templates made it very easy to mount the baby gate to the walls without measuring. Here are some concerns that I would like to see addressed in the future: 1. The quality of the hardware was quite poor. I was mounting a baby gate to the stair newel post at the base of my stairs. The first screw head stripped out about halfway into the post. I backed it out, and tried another screw but with less torque from my drill. This screw made it much further, but then the head completely snapped/sheared off before fully fastening to the post. I ended up using some higher quality construction screws I had on hand, and I decided to use higher quality drywall anchors instead of what was provided. To the seller, please provide higher quality hardware as it shouldn't add much cost to the product and better hardware would make this more reliable. 2. The description states that the gate fits openings up to 55 inches but doesn't specify under what circumstances. In my situation, I wanted one gate to attach outside the top of the staircase. As measured, the total length between mounting points was 53.5 inches. The gate was not long enough to reach, and I ended up having to remove it and set it much closer to the edges than I wanted to.

Love this gate to corral dogs without unsightly traditional gates
I have installed these gates in a couple areas of my home in order to strategically wrangle my dogs - out of the kitchen for example. They were easy to install and look great. I find them much more attractive than the traditional wood or plastic gates. They are also much more convenient for frequent use. When I need to open and close them multiple times per day, they're much quicker than having to remove and reset pressure mounted baby gates. They also fully expose the doorway - unlike the baby gates with a "door" that opens but still have a bar across the bottom, and the walking path is more narrow. When this gate is not in use the doorway is fully open with nothing sticking out in the way. After almost 8 months of frequent use (opening/closing multiple times per day) they are still working smoothly and have had no issues. On the note of sturdiness and lock feature: the lock feature does work and generally prevents the mesh from moving, but isn't perfect and there is some flex. For my use this is not a problem as my dogs are pretty respectful of boundaries (they won't push on the gate or try to get through it) so in day to day use I don't even bother engaging the lock. However if your dog is particularly eager and pushes boundaries, you may want to make a point to use long screws to install and be religious about using the lock. In addition to pets I think this gate could work well for children, although I would personally be cautious when using them around stairs - I think they'd work but as I mentioned there is a touch of flex even when locked.
