thumbs up !!
This costume is great I am very pleased. It is for my sons drama play.I originally ordered one from Party City so i could return to store if needed. The material was terrible and was to small.THIS ONE however has really nice, thicker material and a more authentic looking costume,.My son is about 6' and 185 lbs. or so wears a 38'' waist, although some of the reviews said ' runs big ' i got the LG.Now the jacket is a little big on the longer side but does fit well ,,the pants fit good on butt and legs but they will need to be hemmed.I got the large because of the vest,if the vest was any smaller it would be to short. All in all yes it is a costume and does look as such but for the price it is fabulous.I may even make my husband wear it for halloween.2 THUMBS UP !!

Totally Killed
Ordered this for a 70's inspired gala at my company's annual meeting. I have drawn a crowd on the dance floor at this event for over a decade, but this one stood out a bit with the get-up. As for the fit, being very tall, but also thin-(6'2", ~178 lbs) it is often difficult for me to fit perfectly into the "S/M/L/XL" categories if it applies to both the top and bottom simultaneously. That being said I figured I'd rather have them a little baggy and look for a way to fasten them if needed, than to have them too short, and too tight-and me be uncomfortable all night. So the length was just about right, but it was a little baggy on me-both top and bottom which is what I was expecting. A warning, it is a 3 piece and there is not much to the vest. But being a 3 piece, it allowed for removal of the jacket to cool down some when needed (very helpful). The quality of the outfit honestly was really good overall. My only complain here is that the vest had a lot of threads dangling from the end points-like the stitching had excess and they never bothered to cut it off. This actually is the only thing that I would point to in why I didn't give it 5 stars. Just because it diminished the overall look. As for the response...it was great. My colleagues loved it and it completely served the purpose. I looked good, the people around me enjoyed it...and I was comfortable all night. I have yet to try to clean the outfit though...so I'll have to try to update after said attempt. I would definitely recommend.

Bachelor Party 12-Suits Review
I purchased 12-Matching Costumes for a Bachelor Party Weekend. 6-Med, 5-Large, 1-XL. We had a variety of sizes within the party, so let me break it down for you. MATERIAL: Thin material, but better than expected. (We had to wear shorts underneath the pants since they were see through) PANTS AND JACKET: All of the Pants and jacket fit somewhat Large, not overly large, but Just enough where you MIGHT need a belt to hold the pants up, (No Drawstring). VESTS: As far as the vests, They fit really well (Well enough for us to mob the dinner cruise, clubs, and casinos with vests only) Except for the XL, the vest was too small. Overall, it was a huge hit, and especially with 12 matching costumes, It was definitely memorable for everyone. (Normally, I never review, but I was looking last minute for costumes, and wished someone had group perspective and photos)

Protruding belly - Vest too high.
Returning. I am 6 feet tall with a 42-inch waist. I ordered an XL. There are three parts to this costume; the jacket, the slacks and the vest/collar. There is no shirt. If you take off the jacket, your shoulders and arms are bare. Now for sizing issues. The waist of the bell-bottom slacks stretched just enough for a snug fit around my waist. However, the slacks were way too long. At 6-feet tall, I would probably need 4-inch platform shoes to keep from stepping on the fabric. A seamstress can fix the length issue if you want to spend the money. The jacket fit. I did not try to button it though. The arms were probably less than an inch too long. Again, easily fixed. The vest/collar combo poses a problem though. First, the black faux-shirt collar doesn't flare out like the picture. Perhaps a lot of starch and ironing can fix this. Second, and the killer for this costume, is the bottom of the vest. It does not reach the waist of the slacks. For me, that means my average "belly" will be quite visible. A long white t-shirt tucked into the slacks might make this less obvious, but then the open collar "chest" becomes an open-collar t-shirt. Kills the costume. I thought about posting a photo, but vanity suggested otherwise. You'll have to trust me. I don' recommend this because of the vest and extra costs for a seamstress.

Better than I expected!
This costume was much better than I was expecting for the price. I'm well over 6' tall so I ordered the extra large to be sure that the sleeves and pants were long enough, and they are. I usually wear a size large so the jacket is a little large on me but I prefer that instead of it being too short. The jacket is sewn well and even has some seams in the back to give it a tailored, less boxy fix. The pants are pretty basic - elastic waist, no pockets or fly - but they have a very wide bell bottom that make them look very 70s. The fabric is medium weight, so dark-colored underwear shows through the pants.

Poorly executed design, ill fitting, deceptive product photo
Like most of these pre-packaged costumes you can't expect much. Especially for paying less than $40. This one is no exception. I knew I wasn't really going to receive a legit suit made with quality material but this is a pretty poor execution even with cheap materials. The short review is it's way too big and you will not look nearly as cool as the dude in the picture is leading you to believe. Be prepared to make alterations and suck up the fact that this shortcut to a good idea won't payoff as you'd hoped. Here's the longer review... While you're thinking polyster is ok because yep that's what they wore in the 70's, the material used here is very light, drapey, and doesn't hold form. Just the wrong materials for this costume. The pants resemble light weight sweat pants or pajama bottoms your girlfriend would lounge around the house in. It has an elastic waistband, so obviously no zipper. No pockets. The bell bottoms flair out much wider than seems in the picture. The vest/shirt is a bit of a shame. The black collar is sewn to the vest for the illusion that you are wearing a big 70's collared black shirt underneath. Because the material is flimsy, the collar turns up too easily revealing the true nature of the "shirt". With the sewn in collar, you lose the possibility of sporting a real 70's shirt underneath instead without butchering the vest. And because the vest/shirt has no sleeves, you're looking pretty ridiculous if you want to ditch the jacket to boogie down on the dance floor. Of course you could tell people you are a chipendale dancer instead. The buttons on the vest are not functional. The suit jacket is made of the same flowy drapy material as the pants. It just looks sloppy. No pockets. It does button. Ok, here's what would have been most helpful to me prior to purchase - that is fit... I bought the small. If you're anywhere close to my size - 5'7" 140ish - good luck. It is going to be super baggy and you will need to take everything in. I took some actual measurements that might be helpful to decide if it's close for you to even try... Waistband is 30" unstretched. I'm more like 29" and it was fine. Inseam is 32" which is the problem. Seems like a reasonable length with my 31" inseam but the crotch hangs low from the waistband riding a good 3" below effectively making it a 35" length inseam. With 3.5" platforms you are still mopping the floor with the bell bottoms that are 26" wide. If you are a size 9 or under you will not see your shoes. Suit and Vest will be big unless you are true 40" chest. Suit is about 18" wide shoulder to shoulder or 44" around with a 31" torso length. Arm length is 24" from end of shoulder. For sure if you are a 38" chest or less with a slim torso like me you will be swimming in it. As others have mentioned, it will serve it's purpose if clowning around for one night but if you go to a 70's disco party and want to really look the part this is not what you want. Make the effort and go shop for authentic pieces at the thrifty store instead. Finally, if buying from 7th Avenue be aware of their short 3 day policy. I was out of town when I received my delivery and by the time I got home it was already outside their window for exchange/returns.

Everyone at the party loved it....still talking about it months later.
We couldn't find anything at thrift stores (save your time and effort), the material is thin, but the overall look is great. We bought large and I would call it at least "extra large". Normal size for my husband is large shirt, size 34 pants, 5'11" tall. We safety pinned the waist of pants, and rolled them up. and opted to wear a normal black long sleeve shirt underneath the white jacket, as it would have been too cold without another shirt. We were concerned the fabric was so thin it was a bit see through, so my husband wore long thermal underwear and that fixed all worries. The tags say spot clean and don't iron. Well, I ironed it....no problems and got out creases from packaging. I also put it through normal washing machine and dryer and it looks great. We have never had so many comments...people thought it was over the top and loved it. Definitely worth the money even for a one time event.

cumple su funcion, considerar que es demasiado amplio y largo
excelente disfraz para fiesta de los 80s un poco grande para la persona que lo utilizo, pero con un ajuste ligero de bastilla quedo muy bien. La tela es delgada
