Exactly what we wanted! Looks great and sturdy.

This MASONTOPS PICKLE PACKER, made of acacia wood, is so beautiful, you could display it as an artwork on a desk or bookshelf. The wood is very hard, smooth, and dense, with lovely graining. Mine was purchased for tamping down homemade sauerkraut in a mason jar. It works really well for that purpose, or for any jar-packing task you may encounter while doing home canning. The tamper stands by itself on a countertop. It has two different-sized ends, for reaching into larger or smaller jar mouths. The tamper is NOT dishwasher safe. You hand wash it and dry it. You should also oil it occasionally (with a food-grade oil) just like you do with other wooden kitchen utensils (e.g., cutting boards).

I really love how it looks and the size of it but also I’m a little bit off because I was expecting this to be a one piece of solid wood, but I received a three piece of solid wood that are glued together.

Perfect tool

As many of you people these days do your own fermenting you all know it can be a bit harsh on your hands especially when making sauerkraut. Having to pummel that salted cabbage for a while made my hands so sore that I bought this pickle packer and I’m so glad I did. It’s perfect for the job and does it in half the time. It’s well made from quality wood and is comfortable to hold. Well worth the money in my opinion. I really recommend this handy little gadget so get one and it will soon become your favourite kitchen tool.
