Can you cook meats in this such as pulled chicken?

Worked amazing as a one "pot" shabbat dinner maker.... one soup, one meat and potato, and one rice and chicken....prep on Thursday night, put everything in early Friday morning on high, meat and potato left overnight on low.. It did take a while to heat up to a boil though

Can I keep it on my wooden or plastic table,when it's on ?

Am I able to use the pots as actual crock pots - I can put chuck roast in the morning and will be done 8 hours later?
