I bought a breathalyser as, like many, I was worried about the morning after drinking and knowing when is safe to drive. There were so many makes and models, some differing massively in price, I wasn't sure which to get. I saw this one advertised here and on Halfords, so I figured it was unlikely to be rubbish. I've used it a couple of times and it seems to work great. Firstly, it's really easy to use with a very clear user manual. It's very neat as well, but the main thing you want is accuracy. I tried it after using Listerine mouthwash and it could detect alcohol - below the limit - but advised not to drive. I waited 30 mins or so (it advises you not to use it within 30 mins of mouthwashes, breath sprays, etc. for this reason) and I was back to no alcohol being detected. Couple of days later, I've used it again after drinking a can of cider at 1.3 units - tried it and it said I was just over the limit, which is what you would expect. So seems very accurate - very pleased and definitely will be a good peace of mind going forward!

Purchased this to replace our original AlcoSense breathalyser that has proved to be a great device for peace of mind. Not a regular heavy drinker but its always worth knowing if you're safe to drive the following day after a good night out. On a couple of occasions it's warned me I've been over the limit even though I felt fine. Knowing this has stopped me from driving and is well worth the price compared to the possibility of losing your licence. Compared to our original AlcoSense this is much sleeker and has a bigger and better display and is even easier to use. Definitely worth getting the case as it holds the breathalyser and spare tubes, just wish they included one, even a basic case would be an added bonus. Not a big issue as it fits the case we got for our original. Overall- great device and a real life saver. It's better to be sure than lose your licence or worse.

I'm don't drive for a living but I would be ashamed and highly inconvenienced if I lost my licence through being over the limit. Like most I am responsible when I go out for the evening and take a taxi whenever I can. The problem is, the following morning after a few drinks the night before! Many people get caught out this way and is the main reason I bought a Breathalyzer. I searched the internet, Amazon and on eBay and was bombarded with so many choices. They all seamed to do the job at first glance and cheap too. However, when you read into the reviews and accuracy then this paints a very different picture. Essential if you buy a cheap Breathalyzer then you're wasting your money and taking a big risk due to the lact of accuracy in the results. During my research I looked at Auto Express who did a Best Buy and they recommended AlcoSense, they compared a few of the models and price ranges. Having read the review I decided to opt for the AlcoSense Lite 2 as it was one of the most economically priced for my use at under £50. Given this was only £20 more than the Chinese models on eBay and Amazon I thought this was a good buy. So I did. It came and it was easy to set up and the instructions were excellent. The unit has clear LED and audible signals giving good indications and results. I tested it out (no drink, a couple of drinks, then a few more) and seems to give accurate readings, whilst not scientific it gave me reassurance over the cheaper options. When using the device just make sure you read the guide on when to test and when not to and you will be fine. My only niggle is that you only get a few blow tubes, I would have expected a few more. They do sell a pack of 20 for £4.99 which is reasonable but nevertheless it would have been a better package. That said, I am very please and would recommend the AlcoSense Lite 2 - Apologies for the long review!

Very compact, just what I wanted to save buying individual ones for travel abroad when driving, read the instructions first rather than just put the batteries in straight away like I did ;o) the instructions are very clear and set up takes a couple mins and then very easy to use. Not tried after alcohol yet but worked well and gave correct reading when no alcohol. AMAZON is rubbish they make it so complicated to get a review added - it says it's added and then disappears!!!

A must have piece of equipment especially if touring France or Scotland. I ended buying the case and extra tubes. Likes: price, very clear instructions (for a change), ease of use, seems a quality build. Dislikes: it needs "re-calibrating" after a year or so many uses - which you have to send away to get done at a cost. The on-off switch is super sensitive, so accidentally turning on is very easy. I had to do a reading after a couple of pints after a few 'Lo' readings to convince it was working. Current calibration does not show on start. However, a good worthwhile buy.

I bought this a year ago and was impressed, a year later my impression is very different, I bought this for going to a wedding, funny thing I forgot to take it with me, drove to the wedding and got a cab back and collected my car the next day. I had 1 pint and 4 bottles of beer and a small glass of bubbles for the toast, all day and evening, got back to the hotel and breathalyser myself and could have drove back to the hotel, not used it since, I don’t drink if I’m driving, today I have had 5 beers as my breathalyser is saying re calibration required, and the results are I am okay (lo) to drive, but I know that I am not after 5 440mils of 4.5% beer, calibration is around £24 , so used a couple of times ( not 300) and it needs calibration but I am okay after 5 beers, so £45 for a new one, and £24 every year after irrespective of use, back to plan A don’t drink and drive and don’t buy something that wants £24 each year, if it was £10 I would definitely think it was worth it but I think seeing only used twice it’s a rip off, just my personal opinion don’t waste your money

Good clear instructions, understood from the first read through, not overly complex. Once set up it is a simple as clicking one button, waiting for the display to show when to blow into the tube (6 of which are provided) and await your result. I tested after having a few pints over 3 hours and got a 0.3 reading (under the legal limit) then hit the whisky (at home I hasten to add)! It leapt up to 2.5%, bleeped a warning at me and clearly displayed a 'Do Not Drive' warning. An excellent piece of kit, reasonably priced. Recommended. The only negative is it doesn't come with a case.
