Definitely Not For Beginners
This latest offering in the world of complex origami has some very wonderful things in it - as well as some which I personally don't really like. This book really reminds me of a crudely-published house publication from Origami USA back in the days when it was known as Friends of the Origami Center of America. The book was called Origami Bouquets and one of the authors was Alice Gray who taught me my first origami models as a child. This was a book not just about folding flowers but also leaves and how to assemble them into a finished whole which could then become part of a bouquet. This is a much more sophisticated version of that book as each flower also comes with accompanying leaves, and assembly instructions. But this is not a book for the "purist" many of the flowers are multi-sheet affairs and often need to be folded from shapes other than squares. And of course glue is necessary to hold everything together. That being said, the results of properly-folded models are stunning and even the models I don't really like still have a beauty which I appreciate. The real rub is that all the subjects in this collection really require special paper without which they either can't be completed or are in danger of falling apart. Common Kami (origami paper) is good for practice but is really not up to the task of display-worthy finished works. This is generally true anyway but it goes double here.Models include: Sweet Pea, Bouganvillea, Narcissus, Six-Petal Lily, Hibiscus, Kawasaki's Rose, Orchid (Cattleya-type), Zinnia, Bleeding Heart (Dicentra) and Dr. Lang's Rose. Of these probably the most coveted (according to my reading around the Web) is Robert Lang's Rose. Toshikazu Kawasaki's Rose is also wonderful but has been published elsewhere. The Bleeding Heart is also wonderful because you get a stem and four flowers from a single uncut square of paper. This book is a wonderful and colorful edition to any advanced origami enthusiast's collection. Definitely not a good choice for anyone below the high-intermediate level unless they have patience and like a challenge. If you can fold Robert Lang's Lionfish, this book is probably for you.

A pretty decent collection of origami flowers
A pretty decent collection of origami flowers. The flowers presented are much more complex than the book lets out to be. Extreme experience in folding and shaping will be very helpful.

Sophisticated flower origami and stunning work!
Very sophisticated flower origami. The book is a work of art in itself with an embossed and glossy flower on the cover. The flowers in this book are very sophisticated and some have hundreds of folds, but the results are very realistic flowers. It will take a measure of patience and perseverance to do these projects, but well worth the reward of a job well done. Definitely not a beginner origami book, and perhaps not an intermediate one either.

Origami Master Class Flowers
This is a wonderful book but beware the word "master" as they truly mean it! I am fairly new to origami and will have to save this book until I learn quite a bit more. I enjoyed the in depth explanations of each master and their background. It made their sharing of their individual flower more meaningful. The pictures and illustrations are very well done and I am glad to have the book.

Origami flowers
A book about origami flowers. Hard cover, pages in full color. The book presents 11 complete flowers. Schemes were made very transparent with well-intentioned suggestions of the author. This book should have every fan advanced origami, especially those dealing with origami flowers as I do.

An excellent book...
... for the coffee table. The raised embellishment of the Miura-Ken Beauty Rose on the cover is an appealing contrast to a table of glass or dark-stained wood.Positives: models by David Shall, Toshikazu Kawasaki, Robert Lang, and Alex Avila; brilliant diagrammers; book looks good on a coffee table.Negatives: dependence on glue, wiring, and tape for assembling completed models; models are a rehash from previous publications; not one model by James Minoru Sakoda, the master of origami flowers.

It is a good book, however a beginner or one who is ...
I bought this book specifically to make the rose on the cover, and I have yet to be able to do that. The instructions are not nearly as clear as the description leads you to believe and I have had to resort to looking for youtube videos (which I can do for free I might add) as examples and guides in my attempt to make this rose. It is a good book, however a beginner or one who is not super familiar with origami jargon will not find this an easy book to follow. The book needs more written descriptions in its instructions (especially in he section that is intended to explain the origami jargon) instead of vague diagrams that are difficult to interpret. I was quite disappointed by this purchase :(.

Upped my flower folding game, and it looks absolutely gorgeous doing it!
I bought this book pretty much jsut for the Miura-Ken Beauty rose (the one on the cover), but it comes jam-packed with so many great flowers and arrangement ideas. It's the prefect book if you happen to like folding flowers and want to up your game a little bit (or as lot, as in my case).
